I remember seeing Collective Soul play You Dropped a Bomb on Me at Summerfest in Milwaukee on a small stage and I thought it was just the greatest thing ever. Love these guys
Now this is what I'm talkin about!! A legit rock cover of Dropped a Bomb on Me! And I have to hand it to Collective Soul, as I didn't think they had it in them...
@@RetroSoulGirl Shiny can also mean clean. My hair is shiny when it's clean. LOL Back on one of the fan groups in the late 90s we used to call this look "Jesus Ed" because of his hair and the beard. That said I'm pretty sure Ed's hair probably wasn't just washed here, not least of which because he's in the middle of a show where he's jumping around and clearly sweating a lot. But there were plenty of instances where that wasn't the case and it was still shiny.
@@GizziesGirl2 JESUS ED!!!!! LOL I'm stealing that! Hahaha!!!! Personally I really started diggin' Ed's hair in 1999... because the shorter the hair, the more volume it added to the top so it didn't always look greasy. I mean like you said, he sweats profusely on stage so his hair is gonna be a bit dirty but the shorter hair really helps hide it better.
Collective Soul does a fantastic job on this Gap Band classic song. They definitely kick some ass on it. I never could figure out if they ever recorded this on one of their albums. If they did would someone please let me know.
Literally at a minute and 1:44 I was like When the fuck was this recorded and where ? 🤙😜 Well in Germany a long time ago ! I just said all right dig it
They were a great band. Very underrated . The lead vocalist had a perfect vocal range. They were overshadowed by a lot of 90s "not so great " bands .
Were? Collective Soul is still a great band!
@@nathanandrus3357 ya i agree but like many other good bands still out there their best days are behind them .
