Then around 1:15 when the girl compliments Ashley's shoes, she looks back at the girl with interest after she walked past her. Heartbreaking but I am glad Ashley's mom did the right thing by setting up her daughter for a confession. As parents we have to teach our children to be kind. When children do make bad decisions it's important to get them mental health services sooner than later, because bad behavior will get worse. As a parent I definitely would feel awful knowing my child had anger management issues but I did nothing to help them in time of the murder. Teaching children accountability of their actions is necessary to prevent tragedy's like these. 💜
I agree with you. I was very happy and relieved to see that little bitc* Ashley get arrested. She was so sick and twisted. Not to mention how she treated her own mother. She would just take money out of her purse, and she'd verbally abuse her and not to mention, she even slapped her own mother. That is messed up and to be honest, I think she was just born a bad seed. All the help in the world wasn't going to help that girl, no way! I mean of course a parent is going to try and do everything in their power to help them, but this girl in particular was beyond being able to be helped. They put alot of b.s in this film, it's still really good movie but half of it didn't happen that way or was just thrown in for the movie. She acted like she had authority over the adults in her life and just did whatever she wanted. Until she got caught and arrested. This movie sends a powerful message to teenagers and parents. As for parents, you need to know what your kids' friends are truly like. Jade is actually a bad girl and a rebel. However, Ashley is so bad and a demon that she makes a bad person look good! Jade ditches class and cheats on the tests. She is actually a bad person who just needs a push from the bad direction to do bad things. All it took was a little convincing from Ashley to slash the Spanish teacher's tires. However, Jade still has a conscience and doesn't injure or kill people. She might be willing to damage people's property but she wouldn't kill people. Ashley is basically a serial murderer who has no hope. Someone like her needs to be locked up for life. Someone like Jade can still be reformed and changed to a good person with some counseling and some time in juvenile hall. Even Sara isn't perfect. Sara is a good girl who is unpopular and doesn't have many friends and made a wrong choice of picking Jade. She would have been better off alone without Jade. Jade is a bad influence on Sara. Sara overall is pretty good but she still makes bad choices like sneaking out of the house. So you have to realize the friends you hang around with have a large influence and impact on you. As a good parent and role model you want to raise a child to be EVEN BETTER THAN SARA. Discipline your kids but don't be too overbearing and make sure they have good friends. This movie is a movie new parents and teenagers need to see and realize especially since this based on a true story. I am a 50 year old man and this movie made me feel physically sick. The way Ashley was able to completely manipulate everyone she had come across. Complete psychopath with no feelings of remorse. I know it’s just a movie but watching this really hit home because there are people out there like her. Roughly 1% of the population. That’s 3.5 million people in the US. Just look at how many lives Ashley turned upside down and ruined in this movie. I try not to hate anyone but I can say I hated Ashley from the very beginning of this movie. It shows how truly evil humans can be and how psychopaths choose who they plan to manipulate. Jade was a perfect victim as she was an insecure vulnerable girl with little to no parenting or structure. It’s terrifying because it shows how easy it is for someone to get caught up in a horrible life changing situation. Parents stay close to your kids. Know who their friends are and know what they are up to.
For people who keep saying that this is nothing like the real case of Skylar neese, remember that this says INSPIRED by real events. Not based off of. It's their OWN STORY they made that is loosely based off of the real story. This still is a really good but sad movie.

My relationship with my mother was basically role reversed. She drank heavily. Chardonnay and Budweiser, mostly; but she was the one doing pretty much the same to me as Ashley did to her poor mother. But there was one difference: my mother did love me in her own twisted way, and after our outbursts, we always made up. More importantly, she divorced my stepfather just last month, and we’re in the process of reconciliation. Every now and then, she take me out of here for lunch and a movie, or even to stay over at her place. In fact, that’s what we’re doing for Labor Day! She still won’t all out admit that her mothering was more often than not nothing else but child abuse, but I’ve stopped trying to coax it out of her, and let it just play itself out.

I've watched this numerous times because of how amazing the acting was. The girl who played Ashley did one hell of a job playing a psychopath, and I've seen her in a few other movies before that were awesome. Anything Brittney Underwood is in is always a good movie. I've never missed any of her Lifetime Movies and she's super friendly on her social media page. I've always been a fan of her work. Anyways, it's so sad that this movie was true all because a jealous girl wanted to steal her friend away and have her all to herself. What a senseless and brutal act that could have been avoided if Jade stayed the hell away from her to begin with, but Ashley had a way with manipulating people. The part that made me sick was the morning after she killed her, she just rolled out of bed and said to Jade well it's breakfast time (as if nothing happened the night before, like any other day). My heart and prayers go out to the real family of this poor girl, such a tragedy 😢

I think Ashley hated her mother so much that she sought out love in “friendships” of girls who resembled her mother. And when anyone would threaten that relationship (Sara in this case) she lashed out... like her father did.

Then around 1:15 when the girl compliments Ashley's shoes, she looks back at the girl with interest after she walked past her. And around 1:18 she approaches another girl at the dance asking her to go outside. All the girls had long, brunette hair. Great observation! Happy New Year

Heartbreaking but I am glad Ashley's mom did the right thing by setting up her daughter for a confession. As parents we have to teach our children to be kind. When children do make bad decisions it's important to get them mental health services sooner than later, because bad behavior will get worse. As a parent I definitely would feel awful knowing my child had anger management issues but I did nothing to help them in time of the murder. Teaching children accountability of their actions is necessary to prevent tragedy's like these. 💜
I agree with you. I was very happy and relieved to see that little bitc* Ashley get arrested. She was so sick and twisted. Not to mention how she treated her own mother. She would just take money out of her purse, and she'd verbally abuse her and not to mention, she even slapped her own mother. That is messed up and to be honest, I think she was just born a bad seed. All the help in the world wasn't going to help that girl, no way! I mean of course a parent is going to try and do everything in their power to help them, but this girl in particular was beyond being able to be helped. She acted like she had authority over the adults in her life and just did whatever she wanted. Until she got caught and arrested. But I think it is beneficial for psychologists and mental health professionals to study this narcissist-like, grandiose ego in teens who have committed deadly crimes. So people can be educated on behaviors like these in young people.

This movie sends a powerful message to teenagers and parents. As for parents, you need to know what your kids' friends are truly like. Jade is actually a bad girl and a rebel. However, Ashley is so bad and a demon that she makes a bad person look good! Jade ditches class and cheats on the tests. She is actually a bad person who just needs a push from the bad direction to do bad things. All it took was a little convincing from Ashley to slash the Spanish teacher's tires. However, Jade still has a conscience and doesn't injure or kill people. She might be willing to damage people's property but she wouldn't kill people.
Ashley is basically a serial murderer who has no hope. Someone like her needs to be locked up for life. Someone like Jade can still be reformed and changed to a good person with some counseling and some time in juvenile hall.
Even Sara isn't perfect. Sara is a good girl who is unpopular and doesn't have many friends and made a wrong choice of picking Jade. She would have been better off alone without Jade. Jade is a bad influence on Sara. Sara overall is pretty good but she still makes bad choices like sneaking out of the house. So you have to realize the friends you hang around with have a large influence and impact on you. As a good parent and role model you want to raise a child to be EVEN BETTER THAN SARA. Discipline your kids but don't be too overbearing and make sure they have good friends.
This movie is a movie new parents and teenagers need to see and realize especially since this based on a true story. Don't ever give into peer pressure, don't get drink don't take illegal drugs and remember you don't need anyone to be cool. You can be cool all by yourself.

I am a 50 year old man and this movie made me feel physically sick. The way Ashley was able to completely manipulate everyone she had come across. Complete psychopath with no feelings of remorse. I know it’s just a movie but watching this really hit home because there are people out there like her. Roughly 1% of the population. That’s 3.5 million people in the US. Just look at how many lives Ashley turned upside down and ruined in this movie. I try not to hate anyone but I can say I hated Ashley from the very beginning of this movie. It shows how truly evil humans can be and how psychopaths choose who they plan to manipulate. Jade was a perfect victim as she was an insecure vulnerable girl with little to no parenting or structure. It’s terrifying because it shows how easy it is for someone to get caught up in a horrible life changing situation. Parents stay close to your kids. Know who their friends are and know what they are up to.
For people who keep saying that this is nothing like the real case of Skylar neese, remember that this says INSPIRED by real events. Not based off of.
It's their OWN STORY they made that is loosely based off of the real story.

My relationship with my mother was basically role reversed. She drank heavily. Chardonnay and Budweiser, mostly; but she was the one doing pretty much the same to me as Ashley did to her poor mother. But there was one difference: my mother did love me in her own twisted way, and after our outbursts, we always made up. More importantly, she divorced my stepfather just last month, and we’re in the process of reconciliation. Every now and then, she take me out of here for lunch and a movie, or even to stay over at her place. In fact, that’s what we’re doing for Labor Day! She still won’t all out admit that her mothering was more often than not nothing else but child abuse, but I’ve stopped trying to coax it out of her, and let it just play itself out.

It’s just crazy to me like you’ve been friends with Sarah all these years and a new girl comes around for 2.5 seconds and you not only flip on her but help kill her. I've watched this numerous times because of how amazing the acting was. The girl who played Ashley did one hell of a job playing a psychopath, and I've seen her in a few other movies before that were awesome. Anything Brittney Underwood is in is always a good movie. I've never missed any of her Lifetime Movies and she's super friendly on her social media page. I've always been a fan of her work. Anyways, it's so sad that this movie was true all because a jealous girl wanted to steal her friend away and have her all to herself. What a senseless and brutal act that could have been avoided if Jade stayed the hell away from her to begin with, but Ashley had a way with manipulating people. The part that made me sick was the morning after she killed her, she just rolled out of bed and said to Jade well it's breakfast time (as if nothing happened the night before, like any other day). My heart and prayers go out to the real family of this poor girl, such a tragedy 😢
