Passing the lifelink DFC for an electrozoa that went straight into sideboard is pretty insane. That card can absolutely win you games out of nowhere as a *land*.
I think your way undervaluing Kami in this arch type. Deep analysis and Eviscerator's Insight are the optimal card draw spells because they have recursion and cost much less to play. The pings for two damage and two life gain offset the deep analysis cost and Kami is a good blocker that can do damage on stalled boards. A second copy of Kami has way more value then Unfathomable Truths when you already have the above cards plus from the above plus frog, visionary, blood tokens, shadow spinner.
agreed it's as important as any of the gears in this UB puzzle. and at the end of the day it's just a deathtouch guy which is great against the eldrazi decks and the 1/3 body is great vs Boros decks
First of all, hail Boognish. Secondly, I think he's undervaluing Kami a bit too, but truths is also extremely good in the archetype. It actually has a higher winrate than Kami. Obviously you want a good mix of both and these decisions are contextual, but without knowing what I need more of by the end, I'd be inclined to truths over Kami as well. Kami is way more likely to come around late than truths, which any blue deck will happily snatch up. It's hard to have too much of it if you have multiple snackers and your draw spells are positive tempo and card advantage.
despite needing snackers for this deck. don't think u can ever pass marrionette apprentice in ANY black deck. its winrate alone is enough but it just functions amazing in every black deck. its also way harder to get than snacker and as u can see u ended up with more snackers than necessary u also probbaly wheel that snacker same as u expected to wheel snacker over Shadowsinner. also passing glasswing grace for an unplayable electrozoa. grace is a gr8 MDFC swings games ur behind or acts as a win condition. other than that descent draft.
also if ur wheeling so much other UB synergy stuff conscription is probbaly wheeling. Nulldrifter is an absolute bomb, and even its evoke ability goes towards what u are doing. u almost def wheel conscription. this deck has no issues getting to 7 mana with the ammount of cards we normally draw.
I think you underrate brainsurge in this archetype a bit. Would have probably been nice over deem as having a cheap, instant speed way to trigger the draw 3 effect even on your opponent's turn is very nice. 45:29 They didn't have lethal here anyhow, so no harm no foul. They have 31 points of trample damage and you have 17 toughness to block with at 16, so you go to 2. 1:17:21 The triple Vanguard felt like the universe punishing you for going to a game 3 in the first place. Not that I want you to beat yourself up any more for that punt.
@@dionfilippini8482 He did have a good amount of card draw by the end, but when he made this pick, he would definitely have taken more. And brainsurge is such a unique effect in that you can cheaply trigger the draw 3 at instant speed. Combos very nicely with Deem, and it's just one of the more powerful uncommons for the archetype in my experience. Deem is also very good, but you can typically get them much later than brainsurge which people are happy to snatch up. I could see the argument for Deem though, reasonable enough.
Holy moly! This deck basically drafted itself. Loving the deck. Looking forward to the matches! EDIT -> 57:32 Dude, it literally shows the amount of damage you will do on Sorin. You need to stop making these sort of mistakes that only happen because you rush or go on autopilot. EDIT -> 1:32:10 Great play and read. I will point out good things too. That game was worthy of getting to the second draft. Good job! I could smell the tilt of the opponent through the screen. 😄

can't believe you passed the glasswing grace which as a DFC is amazing. easily replaces a swamp AND is a win-con on it's own
That triple vanguard game was quite brutal to witness after that game 1 of the match :(
Went to a paper draft the other day, and got two psychic frogs. My opponents were quite upset lol.
That consign play in the last game was masterful

Nice deck. Definitely would have considered the two Pyretic Rebirths in pack one. They basically synergise nicely with your first pick.

His deck had almost no removal and tons of draw. Deem seemed like the right choice to me.

Last last game was disgusting! Great game!
At 37:00 or so, when you double block his shielded oozewagg, it is much better to just block with the snacker to knock off the shield counter right?
I was also confused about that but assumed he just didn’t want to take the trample damage
43:29 I was gonna say…
Edit: wow that mattered
That deck was busted!

Blurred deck image pre P1?
op didn't have lethal even if he exerted you would've lived at 3
You blocked it this time😂😊
