Nitro for that smell n thrill can't beat it I have both but electric is alot more less agg and easy to use plug n go but the tinkering with nitro is all part of the fun I think 👍
I have both and here's the way it usually works for me. I start out with electric until all of my batteries are dead. Then I drive my Nitro until the sun goes down
If anyone here thinks nitro isn’t reliable, it is! I have a traxxas nitro rustler that I’ve had for 4 years and I run it almost everyday. The thing is a beast! Far superior to any electric I’ve driven!
You can not beat the sound of a piston in a combustion engine pounding the head....it is and always be a great invention not to mention it being the pillar of industrial age!
Electric for me, I like nitro but I just prefer being able to blast around a field or woods with a couple of mates without pissing people off and drawing attention to ourselves.
Got my first nitro past few weeks. A bit frustrated at first, but after watching ur videos and applied it on my nitro, it work out well n now i enjoyed every second of playing nitro car. Thanks mate
I was swaying towards brushless after converting a hyper 7 tq sport. But then i take out the old hyper 7 pbs on a .26 picco p3 monster engine n the smell and the noise!......
I have both, I used to have only nitro, then I went to full electric. Now I'm liking nitro way more again. I think electric for the winter will be best and nitro in the summer!
Nitro Is Amazing smell, noise all good but starting them is annoying if pullstart and that's my issue with them i need to find a better start method. Also need a better car i have a protech touring car and it is ridiculously fast so fast i just break it every run out. I need a good off-roader
I would like to add something about battery (lipo) safety. Lipos have a history of burning up both on the track and bashing alike. In my opinion they can't take the abuse that Nitro's take and is something to keep in mind.
I am reading the comments and I like the fact that most of them are for nitros that makes me smile because I am driving nitro and people saying that is dead that makes me kinda sad and the comments give me hope
A great video to watch, im at that point that I'm not sure which to go to, an electric car which I understand how simple they are I have had a few tamiya cars in the past or do I go for a nitro car, im just not sure about the noise you get from a nitro car & the amount of fuel residue which does smell quite alot, or do I go down the electric route which these days would cost me more than the nitro cars but would be no noise & are alot cleaner, I shall have to go to my local track & see for myself which would work for me, I shall let you now
Got to be nitro for me not only are they fun there is more off a learning process with them which is always fun! that said it’s each to there own and it’s all good for the hobby.keep up the great vids mate they have helped me out loads recently with me getting back into the hobby great content.👍😊
Hello buddy.. I totally agree with you that nitro car is more hobby than electric. I am really beginner with RC hobby. But I want to buy my first RC nitro car. What type do you recommend to me? I have chosen Traxxas nitro slash 2wd.. what do you think about that?.. In my country it cost about 360€.. hm thank you for your advice and also for advice about other model. off course power is welcome :) not only fault findings are fun.. but also crash repair will be fun :) sorry for my English if it is not so good thx
Hi martin, your english is fine :) I've never had the Slash, actually I've never had a traxxas for that matter. But they do get good reviews. I'm sure you'll be fine.
I completely agree nitro all the way. I had kyosho inferno with an os RXR engine back in the day. Hopefully motorcycles won't go electric the same way in a hurry..
Funny you should say that... I went to a place in Bury St edmunds to test ride some electric bikes from Zero motorcycles. Awesome to ride... faster than my Ninja 1000SX any day! But... Yes - I agree :D
Ive owned many electric cars over the years and i want more involvement so ive decided to buy my first nitro car, though im torn between the ftx torro and the ftx carnage nitro they both have the same running gear just one is longer and the other is wider bcuz of the wheels so on that basis i reckon the carnage nt is the better option despite its age as its likely to be more stable. I used to be a mechanic so im hoping it shud help with tuning the nitro car. I was wondering is there any upgrades specifically are there other engines available? Another point i think worth noting, nitro cars will give u a more hands on approach rather than electric which is just a switch. Besides any petrol head wud surely choose nitro lol
Howzitgoin I'm a nitro fan all the way only been in to nitro addictively last to years I've amassed 19 nitros madd channel m8 , so no plug n play here cheers Sean
@@TheRCBiker Cheers I just figured out the first nitro video I looked for in helping me was a very much younger you so you taught me and got me going cheers my friend Sean
I think petrol rc is probably overall best less fuss just as fast easer to tune and because its 1/5 IT Will probably last longer obviously brushless electric is far superior and faster but everyone is different and has a different taste🤔😁
If i want to store my nitro car in the living room, then i need to drain the fuel from the tank and the engine, is it a good idea to drain it everytime after playing with it? Or better leave small amount in the engine to keep it lubricated? How about long term storage? Assuming i don't have after oil..
I josh, I’m using MAC .28 with 150c tank, I cannot get 8 minutes mileage, as you mentioned in this video 12-15 minutes, can you tell how to running the engine or any other things to make the mileage longer, thnks
Hello there I have the kyoshio inferno neo 3.0. I have a lot of blue smoke coming out of my engine is that normal? And also I’m getting though fuel like no tomorrow is that normal and my engine is getting hot fast. Thank you
Hi Sam, is this your first nitro? All of those things sound normal for a nitro engine. They do smoke, the fuel tanks last about 8-10 minutes depending on tuning settings, and they also do run hot. If you're concerned about the temperature put a drop of water on top of the cylinder head. If it sizzles away instantly (like hot water to a frying pan) then it's too hot. If it takes a little while then it's fine
Yes this is my first nitro car and before I got it i watched the videos on your channel so I had some idea on what I was going to look for. Just one more question. Do you know any good tyres that have coloured rims that the tyre won’t fall of the rim thank you. Thank you so much for replying to me. Sam
Does anyone know why when I pull the pull start it doesn’t always make the piston go up and down?!? Please help! And it’s not the pull start as I’ve bought any other one and the same thing happens!
u can buy 4 batteries for 140 euro and use them around 300-400 times... EACH.... well i dont need to say anything more i dont have electric i bought a nitro but its a mess
Perhaps my choice of cars has affected my feelings. I had a Tamiya Hornet back in the 80’s and just recently got back into RC with my young Son. A 1/16 HSP meteor nitro that has needed a lot of repairs. And an FTX Carnage brushless that has been better. Maybe if I had a better nitro car I would enjoy it more. I want to enjoy nitro more than electric because it has a real engine but my limited experience so far is pushing me toward electric.
If you don’t have time not a lot of money or and just want easy no cleaning RC car go electric if you want the real smell sound and fuel of a real engine go nitro but it requires maintenance cleaning and part repairs after so much use
Honestly…… who has an RC and hasn’t got a tool kit? ….. apart from that, if I just had a lipo wagon, I’d want a nitro and vice versa….. RC’s are cool…. Just ask Tesla
I have a Hobao hyper 7 I converted to electric which I really enjoy plus I can take it to the park without anyone moaning lol, I also think nitro has died out a bit now and everything seems to be going brushless
NITRO OR ELECTRIC? A Question I get asked all too often. Hopefully this video helps you to decide!

With a channel like RCBiker, why worry about tuning and maintenance of nitro cars! For me, these are what make nitros so fulfilling.
Thanks! :) Yep, always got my videos to help!
Nitro to get more looks. And your working with engines.its like working on a car when you have no drivers licence. And can get the neighbors mad
Yes, Nitro definitely gets peoples attention that's for sure!

No, save your money and get something better. Exceed RC are the same brand as HSP and you'll have lots of problems
OK what do you think would be good for right around $300
I got my thunder Tiger st 1 pro out yesterday and I cleaned it and it was so much fun😜🙃

Nitro only because you get more playing time instead of buying bunch of batteries. Nitro can still hold up against electric in a track.
