In my case, moderate Erythrocytosis was caused by hyper active thyroid due to a toxic adenoma. It returned to normal a month after receiving radio frequency ablation.
We're you ever given medication for overactive thyroid. I've been diagnosed with overactive thyroid and my rbc count has been elevated. Even though my overall thyroid has been normal since I starting on medication.

@@CapricornStories I think it was sugar. Because during the 3 days, I cut on rice and didn't drink any carbonated drinks. Only water and alkaline based diet
I disagree with parts of this. Red blood cells carry oxygen to the organs. MY organs love this extra oxygen. Otherwise I could die of organ failure or organ hypoxia. I'm on androgens and therefore I have this "deadly" polycythemia. I feel fine. A high hematocrit doesn't hurt people in high elevations, in fact it is necessary for them. People with heart/lung problems have polycythemia to keep their organs (Incl. heart) oxygenated. Trying to reduce the RBC count in their case will prematurely kill them. IOW, let nature take its course. The endocrine system is highly complex with positive and negative feedbacks , so don't be trying to outsmart it because you can cause more harm than not.
He didn't tell you to lower your red blood cell count if you're sick in fact even never even told us how to lower it if you need high red blood cells you're not going to lower them to a dangerous level by staying hydrated I think maybe you are overreacting to something that was never even said in this video
I believe if they’re symptomatic, they could benefit from a phlebotomy. However, Iron Studies is very important, vital, to if they can handle it or not. Ferritin needs to be above 100 consistently with phlebotomies, or they’re almost pointless. I think 2 a year at max. So they need iron supplements to keep Ferritin normal, and we know that kinda defeats the purpose because Ferrous Sulfate can make the problem worse. However, take Iron daily, to keep EPO levels normal. It’s finicky! Taking Iron every other day will allow the body to absorb more. The daily Iron is to keep EPO down while allowing the body to absorb smaller amounts. Probably best to donate first, then supplement everyday, keeping EPO down and boosting Ferritin at the same time. This should allow fewer donations.

Treatments? I don’t believe people need phlebotomies for secondary erythrocytosis. TRT is the main cause for it. Itching is another symptom of it.
