To get a clean cut, press the ridged surface at the base of the chainsaw against the branch before cutting (As opposed to the tip of the chainsaw) 4:26 This will also help with stability keep the chainsaw from trying to jump around on the branch. That's what works for me anyway. Awesome vid, thanks for sharing!😁
When I bought the Zeeksaw, I thought it had specifically mentioned that oiling was automatic, but maybe I confused it with another saw I was considering. So yesterday, instead of pruning, I had to out to purchase chain oil, and today, instead of starting, I was amazed that I could not open the oil bottle to add the oil. I love that you had the same problem and mentioned it. How weird. I think, as a women purchasing my first power tool, it would be easy to think it was me...Thanks for the great video, thorough and honest.
Yes, I had the same issue with the oil bottle! I had other's comment that it comes off, but I already pitched it. I have a small bottle I just put oil in and use on it periodically when I use it. Thanks for watching and leaving such a kind comment, I am glad the video was helpful!
@@TheLawnLover To be fair, after mangling the bottle, trying to remove the lid with a wrench, it turns out that the small top of the spout just lifts off. Aaahhh. #Girlswithtools.
The oil bottle can be filled. After removing cap, the tip part of the bottle comes off. Just push to side a little bit to release grip from bottle and pull off.
This thing looks like a nice tool - I like the fact that it comes with a case and two batteries. I just purchased one off of your link, can't wait to give it a shot. Thanks for the great review 👍
First thing I thought of when I saw this was taking it hiking with me and cutting through trails. I like that it comes with two batteries as well to last longer out in the trail. I just picked one up to give it a try, thanks for the video!
I have not had to sharpen mine yet, but if you visit any local store that sells chainsaws they should have the appropriate size file needed to sharpen the smaller chain. Good luck with the saw, it has worked well for me so far. Thanks for watching!
Great job putting it through the paces and demonstrating how it cuts. I have seen review videos where people talk about the product, but never really show it in action haha. Great content
Glad you enjoyed it! I always like to showcase the product in action, otherwise people really won't get a good idea of how it performs. This thing exceeded my expectations and it will definitely be in my arsenal going forward to make quick work out of small pruning. Thanks for watching Jack!
Nice review, looks to be a fair bit more powerful than I was expecting, especially good for the price that I saw it listed at ($40). How has it held up, 10 months later?
I agree, you can't beat it for the price. It is still coming in handy now for quick pruning of trees around my property. It has really held up, I have been quite impressed with this little saw. Thanks for watching!
Great honest review. I like how you take us through everything included in the box as well as showing it in action on varying size branches. Looks like a quality product for the price. 👍
The lid does come off of the bottle so you can pour oil in it and fill it according to others in thr comments. I never ended up using it, I put bar oil into another container I had to apply it.
If you are looking for a really clean cut edge, I would avoid something like a pole saw or mini saw - they do cut more of a rough edge being a chainsaw. Have you ever tried pole pruner/saw before? I use this model here for more precise pruning and it works really well: amzn.to/3U28pFu
@@TheLawnLover yes, been using that same one for years. I have a large lb with a crack in it. I am trimming out all the smaller limbs off the end of that so I can saw it off. It's been taking longer than a day's worth of time because there are so many small branches of that large one. So, looking for something faster.
For the quality of the unit and all of the extras that came included, I was pleasantly surprised by it as well given the price. It worked great for what I use it for around my property. Thanks for watching!
Overall it's worked really well. I went in with low expectations, but I have been pleasantly surprised with it. I love that it has two batteries so I dont run out.
Yes, it does come off. I ended up using another bottle I already had to oil the chain when needed. It would be a nice innovation for them to include an oil reservoir in the handle if possible so you don't have to constantly oil the chain on a future product release. Thanks for watching!
Interesting, seems like kind of a pain to me. I already had a small bottle I can fill with oil that made it much easier. Thanks for the info and for watching 🤜💥🤛
This doesn't have an internal reservoir for the bar and chain oil. You need to apply it to the chain with the bottle provided or with a bottle you supply periodically as you use it.

I used mine today and my safety lock does not stay on. I have to hold it which I don’t think that’s the way it’s supposed to be. it became a two-handed item for me as I had to hold the safety over and then hold the trigger. Also, I had a bit of difficulty getting it to cut a 2 inch branch. it doesn’t seem to cut it just seems to sit in the branch. I have to keep lifting it out and then back into the branch to get it to cut. I also don’t think that’s right because I don’t see you doing that but I’m more worried about this safety switch yours appears to click when you disengage it I have to hold mine.
The safety switch should definitely stay locked, it sounds like yours is defective. I would definitely send it for an exchange because not only is that annoying to hold it all the time, it is not safe!
Definitely much easier than pulling out a pole saw or like you said, lopper or chainsaw for those small to medium sized branches. Easier on the arms, too. Good work man, great presentation. Nice and affordable, too.
I bought one. Loved it. Then it just stopped working. I think it's the little module on the switch. Anyone replaced this or had a similar issue. Light comes on but no motor.
The company did clarify that the lid does pop off (in a weird way, the very tip) so that it can be filled with oil. That is good news, but it would have been nice if it was a screw off lid or something more durable. Thanks for watching!
Yes, it sure did work better than I expected. I was surprised with how well it worked to be honest. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment - much appreciated!
The guard is touching the chain? I never had that issue with mine. I would try to contact them for replacement under the warranty. Thanks for watching!
I haven't had that issue with mine. I would reach out to the manufacturer and see if they can replace it or help you troubleshoot the issue. Thanks for watching!

Yes, they emailed me some instructions on how the bottle worked after I posted the video. I ended up putting some bar and chain oil in another bottle that I had in the garage that worked better for me. Thanks for watching!
@@TheLawnLover Thanks for the response! I tested this saw on a 6" piece of dried maple and it seems to me like it doesn't have enough cooling to perform well over time. How much have you used it, and is it still working like new?
I have used it quite a bit for pruning smaller branches. I will agree that if you try to cut large branches consistently it seems to get got and you have to give it a break. I have had to sharpen the chain already and it seems to be holding up well for me so far.

I just bought the newer model and it has a small "bulb" on the top where you put the oil in.
Handy looking tool and not a bad price either. Great video
It has worked very well, I have been pleased with it. Thanks for watching!
Looks like it handled the limbs pretty well, handy tool to keep around for pruning.
It's done very well, it's a great little saw!

The bottle that was included in the kit that I bought did have a removable lid.
Excellent!
As for the oil bottle: can you just squeeze the bottle to suck oil out of the oil bottle to fill the clear bottle that comes with the chainsaw?
The lid does come off of the bottle so you can pour oil in it and fill it according to others in thr comments. I never ended up using it, I put bar oil into another container I had to apply it.
Am looking for a mini saw on a pole to trim my old (tall) fruit trees. But it would be nice to have a clean edge in the cuts.
