@@seebasschipman293 I was wrong for saying he was HC for 1 year, he had been there for 3 as you said. @@kreed4480 The gm puts the team together based off what him and the coaches want to run. The gm that signed Cousins is the same gm that was building with Smith and Ridder. The Falcons just have a new coach and a new offensive philosophy now. The Bears changed coaches and the GM after Fields' first year. Fields never developed enough to fit their system, but that doesn't mean he can't succeed in a heavy run/ play action offense.
Fields, under Tomlin and the Steelers, will be the starter by mid-season next year. MT is one of the best in the game at getting the most out of his players. Fields will be in as starter mid-way.
I think Florio might be giving Arthur Smith a bit too much credit in suggesting he’ll be able to scheme up something with both Russ & Fields playing at the same time. Smith didn’t exactly make the most out of Bijan, London & Pitts, surely every half decent offensive playcallers could make something out of that!?
With Arthur Smith and Tomlin, Fields is much better set for success with the Steelers. That being said it would have been nice to see him with the Bears setup now for next year.
Ben’s last year there was a jr college offensive line playing in front of him and sub par offensive talent. The defense couldn’t get off the field. Bad team. We didn’t get to see if he had anything left. We got to see how fast he could get the ball out lol.
Florio needs to listen to Simms. Simms is a player, he has been there, and he believes there was probably some human element. Yes, the Bears didn't want to have both guys in the locker room, but word is there were better offers out there by a team that had an established QB. The Bears spoke to Justin about those offers and Justin wanted to go to Pitt. My guess is Philly wanted Justin as their 2024 backup since they ended up with Pickett.
It was a perfect storm against JF1…he underperformed to be honest, he wasn’t drafted by the current GM, the Bears have the #1 for a second time, it resets the QB clock and I don’t think any QB need teams wanted to give up a haul that was expected.
Mike can put JF on the field as a great passing RB with legacy QB Russ & confuse opponents plazma welding the Steelers SB '24 & '25. Van Jefferson is long ball power. Steelers receivers & defense can unite & be dangerous. Dominate. Take The SB Shot Y'all!!!

The best thing for the Bears would have been to trade Fields to the Eagles where the only chance he had to play is if Hurts gets injured. There is a high chance that Fields plays over a healthy Russell Wilson and if he plays well it will look bad for the Bears.
@punch1420 Yes, if Caleb plays well, it will matter less, but if Fields plays well then Bears fans will still look back and say they should have gotten more for him, if not say that they should have stuck with Fields and traded back fir a ransom of picks. Caleb will have to win a Super Bowl for people to entirely forget about Fields should Fields go on to be a bona-fide starting QB for the Steelers.
Fields barely got over 2500 yards passing in a season and was 5-8, Williams does not have to get over 3500 yards to look better than Fields and win more games. Fields will be with the Steelers if they make a reasonable 3-year deal midseason after he looks better than Wilson and looks better than someone they can draft in the first 2 rounds next year. I suspect he will be a free agent and a backup or short-term starter behind a draft pick. Smith if he works as OC may be Tomlin's OC that sticks around as long as he wants to coach, who is good but is not anyone's pick for another head coaching job.
Now this is a trade that might make the Squeelers better. When they added Wilson I just laughed at all the delusional Squeelers fans that thought they got better Fields might be an upgrade!
The Steelers have their Quarterback for the future. He is going to sit behind Russ and learn everything he couldn’t when he had all the pressure on him to start
Let's be real here. The Bears didn't want Fields in the building for three key reasons 1) because the locker room loves the guy, 2) they're scared shitless Fields outplays the "generational" guy with the new offensive weapons, and 3) didn't want to be called fools for not trading the #1 pick for another massive haul like the one they got last year!
I’m not sure whether Poles was trying to do right by him or not. But I think Fields likes Tomlin and lots Steelers fans in Columbus Ohio so lots of support from his alma mater and that region I believe…

There's a group think among the 30 nfl teams not named the Packers and steelers. Win the lottery by finding Mahomes, Brady, etc. or look bad trying. Sign a future hall of famer for the veteran minimum and trade for a young QB with potential for 6th rounder - can't be done. Well everyone had the chance, but only Green Bay and Pittsburgh have the patience and balls to do it.

@@CyrusZerbe True he wasn't but a great QB overcomes team shortcomings
@@legitwafflezz9935 I would argue he often did.
Arthur Smith was canned one year into a job in ATL because he couldn't produce with that offense but now that he' got Russ and Fields he's a mastermind lol riiight
He had a different job in Atlanta for 3 years. Just not true what you’re saying
@@seebasschipman293 I was wrong for saying he was HC for 1 year, he had been there for 3 as you said. But even still, he’s an offensive minded former HC for a team that has been drafting top 10 the last 3 going on 4 years. Smiths’ resume as an offensive coordinator/play caller has been far from great. Particularly with ATL
@@kreed4480The offense and talent he put together in Atlanta is perfect for Fields' skill set. That's one of the reasons Fields to Atlanta became a thing. Atlanta is going a different direction on offense now, and Pittsburgh seems to be benefitting.
@@beemajic5773 smith didn’t put that team together that would be their GM not the HC. But yeah Atalanta wanted a real qb. If fields had any true value as a qb they wouldn’t hesitate to take a healthy 25 year old with explosive athleticism. Instead they paid a 36 year old just coming off an Achilles tear $180 million.
Fields can’t read a defense. He’s a fantasy player that doesn’t win.
Ben’s last year there was a jr college offensive line playing in front of him and sub par offensive talent. The defense couldn’t get off the field. Bad team. We didn’t get to see if he had anything left. We got to see how fast he could get the ball out lol.
the pick the steelers got for chase claypool ended up being joey porter jr.
Remember everyone. Chris Simms thought Zach Wilson is a good QB. No credibility
but was right on Burrow, Maholmes and Stroud..%75 on tjose 4...I'll take those odds
Zach Wilson I’d STILL worth a conditional 6th today lmao
It was a perfect storm against JF1…he underperformed to be honest, he wasn’t drafted by the current GM, the Bears have the #1 for a second time, it resets the QB clock and I don’t think any QB need teams wanted to give up a haul that was expected.
Mike can put JF on the field as a great passing RB with legacy QB Russ & confuse opponents plazma welding the Steelers SB '24 & '25. Van Jefferson is long ball power. Steelers receivers & defense can unite & be dangerous. Dominate. Take The SB Shot Y'all!!!
The bears are such a jv organization I fully expect that every decision they make is wrong and dumb and so I now expect fields to win a Super Bowl
Lol, backups don't win super bowls
@@legitwafflezz9935 cough Nick foles cough even beat that pos Brady
@@legitwafflezz9935 Tom Brady the pos he is was a backup and he was beaten by a backup named Nick foles and a guy that used to be a backup Eli manning. Big ben was a backup and so was Steve young, Brock Purdy was a backup he hasn’t won but look at what he’s done. You are just not correct.
Fields could be a better version of Taysom Hill.
Fields can be a better version of Jalen Hurts
The best thing for the Bears would have been to trade Fields to the Eagles where the only chance he had to play is if Hurts gets injured. There is a high chance that Fields plays over a healthy Russell Wilson and if he plays well it will look bad for the Bears.
Maybe the Eagles didn't want Fields?
@@punch1420 In the words of the sage, Augustus MaCrae: "Too leaky a vessel to put all of your trust in".
@@goldenbear8250 But they wanted Pickett?
@punch1420 Yes, if Caleb plays well, it will matter less, but if Fields plays well then Bears fans will still look back and say they should have gotten more for him, if not say that they should have stuck with Fields and traded back fir a ransom of picks. Caleb will have to win a Super Bowl for people to entirely forget about Fields should Fields go on to be a bona-fide starting QB for the Steelers.
@@chrisclark2747 Yes.
As a defined #2.
Trading for Fields invites a QB controversy that could divide the locker room.
I've Deleted All Chicago Sports Channels: F-Them Too!!!
Goodbye enjoy jumping on the next bandwagon
*LETS RIDE*
Let’s smelt.
Justin Fields with good coaching will turn in to a HOFer
HOF backup? LOL
If they we're trying to do right by themselves they would of held him non the reserved retired list until they get a better offer
He missed 5 games
Now this is a trade that might make the Squeelers better. When they added Wilson I just laughed at all the delusional Squeelers fans that thought they got better Fields might be an upgrade!
He's not the guy, just a backup
Steelers will take another QB too. I’m guessing round 4 or 5. Joe Milton in that QB room would be something
Ben's last two years he threw 57 TDs
The Steelers have their Quarterback for the future. He is going to sit behind Russ and learn everything he couldn’t when he had all the pressure on him to start
Let's be real here. The Bears didn't want Fields in the building for three key reasons 1) because the locker room loves the guy, 2) they're scared shitless Fields outplays the "generational" guy with the new offensive weapons, and 3) didn't want to be called fools for not trading the #1 pick for another massive haul like the one they got last year!
Remember that happened with Drew breez
I’m not sure whether Poles was trying to do right by him or not. But I think Fields likes Tomlin and lots Steelers fans in Columbus Ohio so lots of support from his alma mater and that region I believe…
I remember when the Steelers used the Slash. Fields will be better in the open field.
The Rooney’s are and have always been bargain-hunters. It comes from all those years shopping at Hill’s and not Kaufmann’s.
Thank you Bears for the gift to the Steel City
Good luck, 10-28 LOL
After having to endure every Bears qb from 1980 on, Jim Miller/Kordell Stewart anyone? Anyone? I was so hopeful Fields was the one finally, but we go again. I hope we don't do a very Bears thing now and take McCarthy now instead! 😂
The concept of Fields being out there occasionally with Russ is not unique...the Saints habe been doing this with Hill for years
"You're not that" 😂😂😂😂😂
Is Mike Williams coming to play in the Ptz sandbox?
Somebody is engineering BaddAss Plasma welding.
There's a group think among the 30 nfl teams not named the Packers and steelers. Win the lottery by finding Mahomes, Brady, etc. or look bad trying. Sit the QB for 3 years to learn at the feet of a hall of famer- we can't do that. Sign a future hall of famer for the veteran minimum and trade for a young QB with potential for 6th rounder - can't be done. Well everyone had the chance, but only Green Bay and Pittsburgh have the patience and balls to do it.
Sorry but this isnt Ohio state vs Northwestern. Fields isn’t a starting NFL qb.
Fields will be the starting quarterback. At some point
Dawg Pound, we are to battle for AFC North Title
Fields is the more exciting acquisition than Wilson.
"He was still Justin Fields." That is why only a sixth round pick. How much would you give for a fumble and interception a game?
Poles brought in Swift, Allen, Everett and Shelton to the Offense, so Caleb doesn’t have to carry the team.
That’s the big difference Mike.
What if Caleb gets hurt ? 😂
What if the world stops turning ?
🐻⬇️
Enjoy your eternally mediocre team.
They did him so dirty it’s unreal. Bears fan here. I saw improvement from fields. He’s that guy. Now I gotta be stuck watching that bum Caleb Williams be my qb. I pray that he becomes a bust and Fields becomes a superstar.
You were never a Bears fan then. You were a Fields groupie.
@@dcallahan713 I’ve always been a bears fan. Been watching crappy qb play my whole life and seeing this franchise be shit and laughed at. The only hope and excitement I’ve ever seen from QB play was from Fields and that’s literally it. We haven’t had a franchise QB in DECADES. And the moment we have a qb play for us that actually does well, they trade him away.
So don’t give me that bs.
Florio's being so dramatic. Bears fans liked Fields, but they'll be fine waiting for Caleb to develop in due time. Nobody is going to be surprised if it takes him a few games to get settled. Florio's just worried that his Vikings will have to compete against Caleb for the next 15 years 😂
There was no way Fields was staying and why would the bears pay him to not be around? It’s another distraction. Don’t leave any doubt, Caleb is our future QB1.
Ryan Poles is a fool. He was approached with a better deal for Fields. A GM should always get more for a first round picked player.
Bears passed on Stroud last year for one more year of Fields. Couldn't do it again - had to draft Caleb Williams!
Stroud on bears would be horrible
@@kee1074 than anyone would be horrible! Maybe Bears should just close up shop!!!!
Shame on Poles and Eberflus!! They better start counting their days bc their asses boutta be fired after next season.
One way to look at it is the Steelers the Bears in their last 2 trades. Or you can ask why did the Steelers just bring in another QB that was drafted by the Bears. Hope we have better luck with him than Mitch Trubisky
As a lions fan i love this new front office of bears what idiots!!
For trading a career backup? LOL
Florio getting too loud. I like Justin Fields and hope that he is the starting quarterback for my Steelers in 2025. But despite how little the Bears did for Fields, he did not make himself better at the things in his control, like his mechanics, foot work and accuracy.
It's funny how all these talking heads aren't happy with fields on the bears but love him on the steelers. Just another example of the bears failing him in every way while he was there
He failed himself by not being good enough
The Steelers haven't developed a quarterback since Ben. They haven't drafted an NFL caliber starter since Ben. If people are expecting him to get better by coming here, they may need to put the pipe down.
@@dpensfan511 bears had the worst offensive line in the league, the defense sucked until they got sweat, and he had no weapons to throw to outside of moore and kmet this year. Steelers are much better as a team to support him
@ducky2961 No they aren't. Recent history says completely the opposite.
Fields fits Steelers style of play? Not if he doesn’t play!
Fields will start. Russell Wilson will get canned.
Update: Justin Fields to return kicks. Ready to cash your Justin Fields for MVP tickets?
Caleb ain’t gonna like Chicago. Fields wanted to be there.
If I were the Steelers I wouldn’t-lay Fields until late in the season…he needs to sit, collect himself, and learn to see open receivers below coverage….dont do packages for Fields bad move don’t work…
Omar Khan fleeced Poles. lol!
The Bears had no leverage.
Poles got market value for a #2 this 2024 offseason.
For sure!

Idk maybe it’s just me I’m not seeing these woo you turn on Williams and he’s just special like he can play but I think j.j McCarthy bo nix or any of those guys look just as good I think the bears literally got rid of fields to only get a fields in return but me being a Steelers fan hell yes let’s go get that trophy
You know how the big streaming services are flopping with content, the whole world is wondering where all the talented writing has gone. Now we know, they are writing the scripts for the NFL. I'm about to tap out of the whole thing.
You are HIGH, They won't put them on the field at the same time and they won't rotate QB's. Its just not going to happen...
Good player, great athlete. He cant read a defense and make decisions fast enough. Average QB at best. Crappy in 4th quarter. Been a bears fan for 50 yrs. Time to move on.
What if Caleb Williams don’t wanna play for the bears!
Florio is clueless and jealous lol. Name me a team, outside of KC, that wouldn't think long and hard if they had the opportunity to draft CW and discard their current QB? I'm including Purdy and and even Allen.
Steelers beat raven, Bengals...without 2024 trades
Steelers went 5-1 going against the toughest division in football. All four teams in our division
finished over .500 last season. That hadn't happened since the 1930s.
Not too shabby going 10-7 with Pickett, Trubisky and Rudolph all getting a chance to start.
You think if Russ gets the Steelers to conference title Superbowl they would not sign him and give the roll to field. If Williston has a losing season yes I could see that but if Wilson wins Pittsburgh will sign him.
Caleb will win the same amount of games fields has and less then two seasons and fields has been in the league for a while
This guy sees the future! Lol
Now all of you fools are making Justin a RB.😅😅
Thank you the Bears dodnt give a damn about Justin Fields. Dont piss on his back and tell him its raining. As a Bears fan i think it stinks
No nfl team is the fit for a bust wtf you talking about? 38 fumbles is insane for a qb. 30 ints and 40 tds in 3 seasons. Yeah perfect fit
They got nothing for fields. Despite whether Williams the next Troy Aikman.
Teams build through draft capital. Nothing should be wasted. 😅
Time will tell
Sure the bears were three or four games from .500 . B- last year.
Not sure this year. Fields talent is now Pittsburghs fortune. Last year he was a one! No doubt. Timing off. Missed chip shots.
He wasn't worth shit. No one outside of mediocre Mike wanted a turnover machine.
Doesn't matter. Trade makes us better off. Burn your paycheck just because of a short work week. Silly.
Trevor lawrence drafted to the worst situation in NFL history
Caleb Williams drafted to the best situation in NFL history... Almost to the point if he's a bust he will go down as the biggest bust in NFL history
What did Lawrence have to do with this post? And Lawrence was not in the worst situation in NFL history. He has talent around him, just a bad hc. Not that crazy
Only way he will be the biggest bust if if he somehow does the impossible and plays even worse than bustin fields
that is dumb as shit to sign fields. theyve had qb controversy ever since big ben left. give somebody the damn confidence and security to have a GUY
russ is perfect for pittsburgh
fields is not for pittsburgh at all. they both need rhythm so one needs to consistently start but russes pros fit more with them than fields. rollout qb, confident, good at deep balls that fits pittsburgh perfect
