I just picked up an HSP Nitro short course truck and I have another Nitro buggy. It's a Hotbodies Lightning with a .21 OS engine. It's quick. I have my share of electric cars too and some tanks and my Skydio2 drone. Great fun!!!
Tip: if you're not going to wear gloves, use sports tape of something like that to protect your fingers ;) Especially with a pull starter (I do as well).
If you change fuels always always change your glow plug i was going for a 10percent 20 perecent to save money but the punch on 10 percent sucks so i went back to my TLR 20
@natedawg-p8v i switched to a 10th scale Rovan Baja.....less trouble stronger parts....less hassle cheaper fuel and easier to mix....search "Rovan Baja" and you'll see why 🎯💯
jacoob ramsay you can run it but not recommended it, O’Donnell is good fuel but run it with 30% or any 30% nitro fuel ( car ) check out my revo ( lrp zr.32) with 25% vp power, no setting on the needle
You forestalled me, I wanted to change my post xP I have exactly the same buggy. I'm pretty sure that on 16% Merlin fuel I reached 79km / h max (49.3mph), but I had metal tuned manifold and exhaust pipe. Thanks for the video. It was really interesting. I didn't know there could be such differences.
I remembered something. Have you changed bearings? The wheels (I'm 99% sure) have brass bushings. Replace them with bearings. They are cheap and have less resistance friction, so your buggy should go faster (and parts last longer). My measurements were after changing the bearings and improving the resonance of the exhaust (nicely bent exhaust manifold that does not interfere with exhaust gas flow and tuned metal pipe). Maybe that's it! :D
Cant properly compare fuels with out tuning for each one.

i have the flying fish (basically just the road version of this buggy) and I've had to change the gear change timing on it and omg its fast

Can I run 15% o'Donnell model airplane fuel in my revo 3.3 I broke it in on 20% top fuel
I do not think that 15% have much power for the 3.3 revo, would be too slow.

Yes, Bearings are the biggest factor on speed, and i have already ordered them, but it takes too long because of Coronavirus effect :(
