      Incorrect. I ride a crf 250r and I notice how it handles better than the other bikes but doesn't have enough power

      Well said, These people who say oh not enough power this or that. Well unless you are a top level pro that's in the rev limiter all the time with it just rung out guess what these bikes have more power than the average weekend racer needs.

    Pick a colour and have fun! Cant wait to see them stack up with full blown factory parts at A1. Its nice to see Honda back with some buiss! Is it just me or does the Kawasaki looks very big? I like the new Suzuki and dont understand the hate it gets around the world by bashing its weight, clutch, , engine design? How many of us when we buy a new bike wont modify it to personal liking anyway? People buying these bike sure could afford some aftermarket stuff like revalve, springs, clutch change like hinson, bars etc . I rarely see people ride 100% stock bikes, and those who do ride completely stock from the store still seem to enjoy it? So i think people should pick one they personaly like based of what you local dealer gives you their best deal. If i have to Give some critique i wonder why Yamaha still not focusing on handling and put back their airbox and engine design to what they used to be pre 010, but thats just me, i would assume there is alot of fans really like the concept! Cool video and review! Brraaaap!!

    Rode the KTM, was nice and brought a pleasant smile to my face. Rode the new CRF450 and the reaction was, Oh God!!! Suspension, cornering, all the power you have the balls to twist out of it! Yahhhh, the red one ended up in my garage... Not to mention a reputation for durability with proper maintenance.

    Actually best test yet I have seen out of the ones released so far, seems pretty balanced! The Husky and KTM are full sized but look like 125s size wise and real MX race ready bikes, still give me a 350SXF or Husky TC350, ya can keep yr 450s ain't pro don't need it!

    Has dirtbike tech progressed much in these last 10 years? I haven't riden since 2008 and I had a 2006 CRF450R at the time. Last time I saw progression was Suzuki being first to go EFI and Honda adding a steering damper.

    It's always going to come down to personal preference. The RMZ usually ends up the worst (or near the bottom) of these lists, and yet if you go to any track there are a ton of riders that swear by them and won't buy anything else. I love my KTM for a number of reasons, how it finishes on these lists has jack shit to do with anything.
    The other thing you have to keep in mind is what an elite test rider wants a bike to do, and what you want a bike to do, may be two very different things.

    Kawasaki would probably be in 1st or 2nd if they could do these things: 1. Switch to kyb spring forks and everyone will flock back to green. 2. Switch the handlebars to the mcgrath bend because it works best with the kawi 3. Black clutch/ignition covers like how they were in 2009. From everyone I know to Grant Langston, they all love the kawasaki once they have it properly set up. To be quite honest with you guys though, people make a bigger deal about the air forks than they need to be. First of all, once the air pressure is set correctly, forks should feel amazing. Change your clickers and make adjustments AFTER you set the air pressure. And second, the Kawasaki is a rear end steering bike. The air forks are designed to make the front end feel lighter while on the back of the bike over bumps. Ask any fast kawi guy they'll tell you the same thing and I'm not that fast

    KTM's are HQ, but my bud bought one and raced it 2 years, he said they call them ktm because they cost too much, if a manufacture released a works like bike to the public for $55,000 would it win the shootouts. Imo take the kx or rm spend $1500 on it could win, so price is important.

  • @romskogmotorsport
    @romskogmotorsport 6 лет назад

    Ppl saying that ktm is overpriced. Well, the R&D staff in Mattinghofen don't sit around and pick their noses. They work.
    You could get electric start on a 450 SX-F back in 2007, and 10 years later yamaha and honda get one on the mx bike. If you buy a Honda CRF 250 X 2017, you get a bike that in reality is a 2006, same shit.
    Ktm delivers 2 strokes and 4 strokes mx and off road and deliver new R&D, like the two stroke 250 and 300 exc TPI. What do the big 4 delivers? Most of them don't even offer a two stroke mx or off road bike. But KTM do, they got a bike for everyone. The big 4 don't. You can choose between a 250 or a 450 4-stroke, mx and off road. And if you ride enduro you get a 2006 with a 2017 tag.
    All you KTM haters. When did you last owned a KTM? I love the bikes coming out of the Mattinhofen plant, but I don't say shit about over build alu frames bikes from Japan. Why? I used to love the big 4. But now I'm a KTM guy. Ride what you like and have fun, but shut the fuck up if you don't know what you talking about.

    how the fuck is a hydraulic clutch a winner factor, thats more a preference on like which type of suspension you want to run. You could have bought and bolted on a hydraulic clutch for anyone of those bikes if you wanted for not that much money.

      they self adjust, and are far more reliable, no broken cables and no worries about the pull being slightly different, and as a stunter a hydraulic clutch is far better. also the clutch pull itself is much much easier.

    • @hreindustries
      @hreindustries 7 лет назад

      they dont "self adjust" you must bleed them and how often does a cable break? The pull factor is completely preference.

    95% of most riders are catered for with any of these bikes. The people that buy them will be Joe Average who will spout all sorts to defend their decision on what they buy. Brand snobbery will not take you to the next level but your ability and commitment will. Thats why the 5% that are good enough to have the ability to seriously tell the difference of any of these brands will be the same 5% in five years time. Pick any bike, Dial it in and go enjoy for your self and never mind the sales spiel. They are all good enough and whatever you choose you will spend money on it.

    electric start shouldn't even be a factor. 450s are easy as fuck to kick over i seen 8 year olds kick over 450s. the EFI ones are extremely easy

    • @bearmims6717
      @bearmims6717 7 лет назад

      and yet you dont have one, try kicking a 450 over when you stalled out on a hill climb or in r creek where the ruts are so big you cant get the kick out. i do like the kick as it provides a back up if the battery goes flat, but defiantly i would use electric as primary

    • @keo9365
      @keo9365 7 лет назад +1

      it has the best handling, and most people like it's power delivery. And many people actually say that the Honda hides it's weight pretty well. Silver rims? c'mon dude. looks don't matter. Dual exhausts? Honda does everything they do for a reason. No company would just put random nonsense on their bike and hope everything goes well. So Honda saw a purpose for dual exhausts that other companies did not. Or Honda found out something about dual exhausts that other companies did not. And guys don't get me wrong, I'm not a Honda boy, I live, breath and wear Yamaha but in the 450 class you just have to accept defeat. Take it like a man, the Honda is a really solid bike.

      If you look at the Vital reviewers and they're thoughts, most of the guys that were non Honda riders picked the KTM and Husky the Honda on vitals shootout won by one point and the swing was by Honda riders that down voted both the KTM and Husky and had other bikes totally out of scale from the other reviewers, personally those testers imo had little cred.

    • @garrett3234

      blomgren182 ok bro you just keep telling yourself that. Still has air forks which are shit. Steel frame is week maybe cutting edge if it was 1996. Like come on there not even changing the ride or trying to mix it up and still they get a sloppy one every year lol. Ever since Dungey and Decoster they have won wow imagine that.

    • @maverick2242
      @maverick2242 7 лет назад +2

      Garrett Gustafson have you even ridden one, Steel from is dam good, I know I have one and I prefer steel, I know young kids who still can't grow facial hair to shave must have alloy frames, while I prefer coil forks and why I have constantly said the KYB SSS suspension is the best in class the AERs are not bad, I wouldn't touch a fork with 3 valves on it, just from the Pia time wasting that takes, so that's the only thing I'll agree on there though again the AER for the non pro rider or racer it's pretty good fork, but SSS or a WP Cone for upgrade would be my pref, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker not for me. I don't know what you are on about re De- Coster and Dungey, they did a fantastic job, but Marvin Musquin, Jeffery Herrlings, Antonio Carroli, Tonus and Baggert all been doing pretty dam well, more than once in both classes did KTM in Europe did a 1,2,3 fee if any other brand has done that esp in recent times! Seems some cant handle the best bikes comes out of Europe now!

      MaverickDH im 20 bro i have quite a bit of facial hair thanks you gery much and yea i have ridden a lot of steel frames never a Ktm. I ride 2 strokes a lot and rode a bunch of steel framed cr250s there is more vibration in a steel frame

      Desert Mountain Preppers I didn't say he doesn't make a good race bike/team, I'm saying the quality of the product is poor. They can get away with lightweight poor quality parts in the nationals/supercross because they rebuild the bikes all the time.
