  • What do you think about the new format? I thought I'd upload these to my old streaming account so they can live in public in a new, open space.

I really enjoyed that. The hour flew by! So nice to listen to you guys just talking let the conversation take its natural course. My word how does anyone manage to start a business. In France?? The tax system is insane! Hats off to to you for getting through that. It’s worth a bottle of champagne in itself. If you want to do more of these podcast style vids I’m well up for that. Cheers Jay! 🥂

Great monologue (duologue?)! I really enjoyed it. Audio was fine, though you might want to get a microphone stand for poor Puxan. Also, the lighting wasn't too good with the camera pointing towards the window. Maybe set up the camera from the window looking in, so you won't have so much backlight. Good to see you more relaxed. Horrible tax situation! How could they force you to pay 2 years of projected taxes up front! Seems like they are intent on setting up entrepreneurs for failure.

We knew we were probably badly backlit but I didn't realize it was THAT bad until editing haha. Thanks for the feedback! And yeah, it doesn't feel like the friendliest of business environments to be sure

I would compare an Autoentrepreneur to a freelancer instead of a sole-proprietor.
Can you share who your new accountant is?😅 I’ve been searching for one for years!!

That's a much better analogy - but aren't freelancers usually sole props in the US? My new accountant specifically works with personalities/talent, so I'm not sure if they'd be a lot of help. My old one was AGH - they were really nice, just dropped the ball on emphasizing some information that was really necessary and was the reason I ended up dropping them.

I enjoyed the conversation but for me it works better as a podcast so I’ll just listen in the future. The length was fine. The tax story’s horrific. That really makes no sense. I assume that you’ll get a lot of that money back in the future but what a killer in the short term.

"Suspicious and jealous of success", hmm sounds a little like the culture in Spanish countries. Also, France is supposedly a pro-worker pro citizen country, but it obviously wants to keep workers working for others, not be entrepreneurs who have a chance at upward mobility and that can take market share from big corporations, just like what we saw during lockdowns, massive transfers of wealth from small businesses (that were ordered to close) to big corporations that were allowed to stay open and sell to the public. And yet people say France is an ideal society - wake up! America also allowed for massive transfers of wealth from mom-and-pop shops to the multibillion dollar corporations, some states more than others. But ppl will continue to advocate that one system is better than the other when in reality it is all rigged to keep you in your place and take from you whenever possible. They fill your mind with slogans, tell you lies, make nice products from big corporations available and give you nice landmarks to look at, to make you feel good about slaving away but in the end, one is always paying more.

Interesting. I wonder if the experience and reasons behind it are rooted in similar things.
