Kelly Coffield was so funny in this! I love seeing her as Magenta Thomas. She played some of the funniest characters on the show, and when she pops up in movies. I remember that Martin episode she was on as a wedding planner. Her, and Hustle Man arguing and the chitlin loaf...lol.
Christmas Day 1997, I reenacted this sketch with my Barbie dolls. I got a doll living room set, this show was airing on fx and it made perfect sense. :)

I didn't know that I could laugh as hard as I did until I saw this for the first time! I had had a good laugh a lot but until i saw this.. those were chuckles.! I even went to school the next day asking who all had seen it as I laughed even harder with those who had. Oh this got me Good... to this Day!!! 😂😂😂
I think I liked this character/sketch so much because it kinda came out of nowhere and was unexpected. Really funny, and as far as I can tell, wasn't based on a real person, or an immediately recognizable spoof of anything.
Magenta was an archetype of all those B-list, LA actresses from the early seventies who were still rocking bell bottoms, platform shoes, and pushing 73' Pacers in the nineties 😂
Magenta would be a celebrity (?) talent show judge in the current time. Hilarious skit and also a little sad in a way. There have been more than a few Magnetas out there, and a least some of them did not end well.
Bravo to a brilliant skit. ❤ Kelly Coffield, a very talented lady. So, the role that defined her "career" was left on the cutting room floor. Hmmm, makes sense. 😂
I don't really know this show, is it like snl back in the day? Also the skit was about how Hollywood land roles by sleeping with the bosses? Also she diss the guest becos shes black? Someone enlighten me pls
The show is "In Living Color", a sketch comedy program from the early 90s. The skit is about a bitter out-of-work actress who exaggerates the importance of her minor inconsequential roles in films from the 1970s, while putting down other actresses by claiming they slept with the men in charge in order to win their roles. She disses the guest not because she's black, but because Magenta is so self-obsessed she can't even properly acknowledge the presence of Pam Grier, a far more successful contemporary.
@@thomaspaull2594 It's not the same, or it's not as good as it was when it first premiered. I wish that they would have funko pops of Homey, Benita Buttrell, Magenta, Wanda, Fire Marshall Bill, Vera and Blaine and Antoine (in a two-pack), but I know ppl would lose their shit over them, especially Blaine and Antoine .
The only white girl ongoing cast member on a black comedy show and she held her own Jim Carey the only white dude in this show and held his own we kno funny people they was the only ones in this show for a reason
Kelly Coffield is one of THE most talented comic actors EVER!! I don't understand why she's not more visible in Hollywood. She is AWESOME!! :)
I second and third that. Brilliant actress.
@@jwalt8019 Kelly is too much She did a great job playing a bitter actress who couldn't get a break.
I hope Kelly is doing well as an actress in 2019.
Magenta Thompson freakin hilarious!!!🙏✌👌😷
Good actress. Not that good looking.
@@brucey1497 I think she was scrumptious
I need people to understand how understated the comedy is in this skit. If you are paying attention, you got it.
I completely agree. I wish they made more than just two skits with her; she was brilliant.
@@PrincessofPower84 loved her Andrea dice clay n Samantha kinison. Her impression of Roseanne is spot on as well
Even for a one-off character, this was incredibly funny. Bravo Kelly Coffield! 👏 😊
This sketch really SHOULD'VE BEEN its own TV show. MAGENTA THOMPSON FOREVER!!!!
I said the same thing.
Rob Heathers
I love this sketch. The most talented cast of any sketch comedy show I swear.
I could have seen more of this, too funny!!!
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS 💐💐💐💯💯💯🦋🦋🦋✔✔✔🌹🌹🌹

I have this feeling that Hollywood has produced at least a few Magenta Thompsons over the years.
This sketch is up there with some of the greats
The old lady pushing her out of the way is CLASSIC. lol.
I nearly spit out the food I was eating at the last clip with the doctor saying "somebody get this bitch out of my way" lol.
i love her love in living color
I love how proud of her "career" she is.

This sketch is so ahead of its time. There needs to be a movie of Magenta Thompson.
I couldn't agree with you more.

She would probably have an Oscar by now if she would only do the casting couch thing,
@@jaysonbiggs8979 She did the casting couch and caught a cold sore. She explained it in the Magenta Thompson acting school episode 🤣🤣🤣

The question is why wasn’t I in any of these movies lmaoooo
I love you with black hair awesome
As a young boy, I never realized how absolutely filthy Kelly was. So attractive
Looks like Katy Perry

aka My Life on the Z-List - Kelly Coffield is no Magenta Thompson, she’s a genius.
Just fucking hilarious!!!😂😂😂
What happened to Friday the 13th part Jason chasing for the kill, and he tells her “Get out of my way Bitch!” & goes after other girl?
diegoreds that was in another Magenta Thompson skit. The one where she has her own acting class.
ruclips.net/video/wgII9wgIZvk/видео.html
"Get outta my way, bitch!" from every clip with Magenta.....🤣
The best one is when she was in the Friday The 13th movie and even JASON yelled "Get out of my way, bitch!" so he could get at his intended victim.

I miss shows like these.
They won't make another show like this because the offended whiny babies, who can't take a joke, will throw a huge hissy fit.
This is sooooo funny to me.
Was Magenta Thompson a real person?
Matthew Alexander Lemma
No.
I personally think she’s based on 70s actress Judy Brown, who starred in a lot of exploitation movies. She didn’t have much of a career after the 70s.
"Roll it"
My favourite line: "There was no horizontal auditioning..."
The "Casting Couch" lol
"You're spitting on me!"
have not seen this since it originally aired

The "uploader"?
Shes married to Steve Park of In Living Color. Loved him in the "Kung Fu" skit with Jim.
