Is it me only or does a #Ohtani HR seems more majestic (or maybe even hyped - not in bad way) than other’s HR b/c we are witnessing greatness and possible GOAT 🐐 in his prime. Ex, other hits 3-run HR but no big deal (for media and fans). B/c we are witness 2 greatness!
Glasnow showed why he's the Dodger's ace. Ohtani came through on his "I want to hit home runs for you" pitch to Glasnow. Freddie seems to have (at least for a couple of games) fixed his swing and has started hitting again. Pages has looked great and I think it's going to be really hard if not impossible to send him down to AAA. Lux, Outman and Taylor still need to figure things out. I think Lux gets some runway due to his history. Taylor looks a bit lost. I think he needs a spell in the minors like Alek Manoah did to find his swing again. Outman has shown he can come back from a slump ('23 May and June) and will be given some more time. Dodgers will have a decision to make when Heyward comes back.
Yup I said when he was signed he was our ACE, He’s just filthy dude and intimidating on the mound, I think Moto will end up being a 1B as he learns out here in the MLB, A lot of fans gotta remember, We still have Walker and Kershaw to return, May, Gonsolin and OTHANI in the future, This rotation will be so filthy healthy of course not until next season with some
Someone mentioned Hayward needing to earn his way back on the roster and this makes sense coming back from an injury. Pages will need to keep doing it to stay up and chances are he’ll be the guy to go down over DFAing Taylor or Kike and the best hitters do not always win these battles. It all depends on how things go between now and then.
Wo! Wo! Wo! Slow down buddy... it’s April not September. He hasn’t proven sh**! You’re to quick on jumping a ledge before looking at how steep it is.. it could be 2ft and it could be 40ft let’s first observe and see. See you in September/October
Some fans hating on Ohtani RISP. Maybe so but really…..Ohtani leads MLB in BA, XBH, Hits, doubles and top 2 in OPS, WRc-+, SLG, OPB and top 10 in HRs, RBIs, every MLB offensive categories. What the heck do you want more from Ohtani. SMH.
The bottom third is the more pressing of the concerns by a long shot, and it has to do with how easy or hard it is to fix things. The bottom third isn’t so easy to fix. We did bring up Pages but there’s not much more we can do but hold our hands together and wait for things to get better. The bullpen composition is a lot more fluid and we can both add pitchers coming back from injury to the mix, where either a starter or a reliever will add a reliever, as well as getting help from the farm. The farm hands have done better than the regulars overall. We have both relievers and hitters struggling, but the relievers are a lot easier to replace.
Can’t move Pages down if he’s tearing esp we’re not in a consistent offensive mode, maybe switch off. Hope Hurt is back soon, blood pressure is up when 6th inning starts
And thank you!! Good lord LA fan bases are dramatic 🤦♂️ barely April and they’re yelling and screaming, This team starts slow and gets red hot in May to the playoffs, Just get to the playoffs HEALTHY! this team will be fine and will be one if not the best team in baseball!
It made perfect Seneca to leve Glasnow in for the 8th given his pitch count and the benefit of one less inning for the pen with the game locked up. Welcome to the new era of baseball where you have to pay even more attention to the load on the pen. The Dodgers have the highest pen utilization in the majors by a big margin and if you want them to perform better you have to take the easy calls to help them as this was.
The Dodgers were first in MLB with average with runners in scoring position in 2022, third last year, 18th so far this year. This is a concern for sure. this is in spite of being 5th in batting average overall. This is a sign that a team is stressed overall.
There isn’t any correlation here Matt, and any concerns here would be how the poor results lately may affect the team’s chances to make it into the post season. It looks like we may have to win the division to make the playoffs, as I don’t see anyone else getting to the 2 seed besides us, and finishing second to any of these teams suggests a record that may not earn a wild card slot. We don’t even know what the team will look like in 5 months but the biggest thing is you want your team to be hot in the playoffs. There’s only so much that you can do to influence this, put the best team you can on the field and hold your breath. Seeing us lose these 3 series in a row with a team this talented shows you how much trends effect series wins. If these were best of 3 we would have lost all 3 of them. This happens with even good teams.
Glasnow is just FILTHY dude I was so damn excited when we signed him, I said we got a STEAL with his deal and he will out play his pay, I know we have a whole season ahead, But man I can only imagine a rotation of Glasnow, Ohtani,Miller,Moto, Walker, May and Sheehan yikes! Still have Gonsolin too lol, I mean can pitch Othani once a week next season and save him for the playoffs to pitch mostly 😂 And I didn’t mention Kershaw cuz this might be his last season 😢
The Blue Jays are a half game up on us in the standings and tied for a wild card spot, I dom’t see them being out of contention at the trade deadline and are probably keeping Bo regardless, thinking they’ll get em next year.
They are stretching out Crismatt to be a starter, he’s getting his third start tomorrow and so far so good, 0,79 ERA in KC to go with his two shutout innings for the Dodgers out of the pen. Crismatt used to be a pretty good reliever with the Padres if you remember and has struggled since, but maybe the Dodgers have him finding Jesus and making a real impact on the big club. This is not a stretch at all and I’m thinking that both he and Ramirez can contribute. Ramires had a 2.66 ERA last year in 40 innings with the Yankees and seems to have found himself.
Yes, the concern is there. Still little to no contributions from T. Hernandez, muncy, outman, and lux who continue to whiff or make poor contact. The bullpen didn't need to be tested, but they've been terrible recently as well. It's only one game, and they have still lost four straight series. Sweep the nationals and win the series in NY, then they can talk about possibly turning a corner. But until those support players start pulling their weight and the bullpen stops imitating gas cans, this team is still shaky.
Umm NO! it’s no concern bruh they start like this every damn season, And you same fans cry and jump off the cliff way too early! This is a 162 game season, They will be fine and still have players returning from injury, When they’re under .500 and in 3rd to last place then come back and talk to me ✌️
If the Mets record are worst this season 2024 why won’t the Dodgers should trade for Francisco Lindor and Francisco Alvarez at the trade Deadline and then move Mookie Betts to second base and and then in the off season they can try sign both Alonso and Soto then next year put Ohtani or Freeman in the outfield
I’m looking forward to the trade deadline passing Blake so I won[‘t have to hear any more pleas for Adames after the Brewers don’t deal him. It’s not just that he’d be too expensive in terms of payers sent back, it’s more thst the Brewers are in first place at 14-7 and have done better than we have. I believe they will remain contenders or at least don’t slip so far as to have the playoffs be out of reach at that point. The chance of this is pretty low I’d say. I woulldnt mind a shorter term deal with him, but not until he becomes a free agent next year. Adames is having a fine year so far and even if Milwaukee wants to deal him, you can imagine how high the offers are going to get as a lot of teams could use the guy besides us. I don’t see this happening sorry.
Bro, Ohtani leads MLB in BA, XBH, Hits, doubles and top 2 in OPS, WRc-+, SLG, OPB and top 10 in HRs, RBIs, every MLB offensivecategories. What the heck do you want more from Ohtani. SMH. 🤦♂️

All-around great team win today! It's a shame some/most fans are never satisfied...

Would be amazing run, they all healthy and hot going to October.
Yes we’re spoiled as fans. But for me it not too worried it’s still early.
Good bounce back victory in a shutout way, but the pitching needs to be consistent and protect the leads that the offense put out there.

DR didn't want the pen to give up 11 in the 8th.
DR is so inconsistent with his decisions and it hurts the team.
😂😂

If you compile the state for Crismatt, Lemet, Hurt, Ramirez, and Vanasco, 20 IP, 2 ER, 0,90 ERA. That ain’t bad.
I have an Idea I’m a Mets Fan but I can solve the problem for the Dodgers forever
If Roberts is going to sit Freeman and Betts in the 6th, then he Needs to sit Ohtani too!!! I'm for sure Freeman didn't want to sit!
Francisco Alvarez is better catcher than Will Smith so Will Smith can be the Backup Catcher for the Dodgers
This was a good lineup today, I hope Taylor and Kiki stay on bench except for blow outs.
Bottom of the order is very concerning Outman & Lux plus Martinez striking out way too much.
I don't know why you all feel that Lux is going to be better than what he has shown. I think Lux, Outman, and Taylor are liabilities.
Taylor is definitely a liability, Lux and Outman will hit.
Yes, the concern is there. Still little to no contributions from T. Hernandez, muncy, outman, and lux who continue to whiff or make poor contact. @@AndreP1524 Well, looks like someone has decided to forget the past three seasons. Same old homer fans: head in the sand.

Some one should have been fired for the Yordan Alvarez Trade!!! Dodgers then Trade away Michael Busch for scrap metal! SMH!!!!

1st!
I hate to be a negative nancy but otani is 2 for 21 With runners in scoring position that is a problem That does not seem to be going away.
