hi Dean, A belated subscriber to this channel, now fixed! Thanks for the update on The Vault, the tiles look good and seeing the bar framework gives a picture of what we will see. Looking forward to seeing the finished thing! Travelling again in Dec/Jan and back in Pattaya sometime in Jan. Best regards to all at Dive Bar! cheers, dee (argent)
Stayed on soi 15 a few times at centara azure and hideaway. Very central. Hope your bar gets sorted for middle of October I'll call in for a couple. Cheers for video
Excellent video Dean. The Vault is coming along nicely. I like the look of the tile. Thank you for the look at Soi 15. You definitely have some lovely ladies at the Dive Bar. Thank you for taking the time to keep us updated and I hope you all have a great weekend.
Great to see things coming together in your new bar. You still seem pretty relaxed but I’m sure there have been some finger biting. Soi 15 has come on leaps and bounds with some decent places to stay right in the heart of everything.
Great video ! Glad to see The Vault coming along nicely. Your girls ( Kitty especially) were all very nice and welcoming. Cant wait to see what your new bar is like. Maybe one day do a video on your condo 55555 ( or one they are renting)
I am glad to see some progress on The Vault. In 2019 I was a bit lost in the area of Soi 15 and Not sure how to get back to my Hotel But some nice locals pointed me in the right direction. I hope that construction /road work ends soon.
Lolitas is known as a speciality massage operation (like the one in Sukhumvit Soi 8, in BKK), so unless they're continuing in that line of business, keeping the name would lead to problems. If the Dive Bar had been on the old site of HotMan bar would you keep the name despite it no longer being a LB/Gay Bar (whatever it was....) ?
It'll be interesting to see how many of these new flash hotels want to charge top dollar at a time when the world is in recession and money is hard to come by... I guess if they can all survive until high speed rail is finished then they'll all do well but it wouldn't surprise me to see some closing down pretty quickly or dropping their pricing quite dramatically.
i am finding quite alot of guys who are here or have been recently are happy to pay more for quality hotels, there are still great deals around, it will be interesting to see what these new ones set their prices at
@Linda Loo Some people did well during the great recession but most didn't. Same can be said of every global or regional depression. We're entering one now and although there will be areas less effected, money will be tighter for a large portion of the global population.
Sadly I don't see Pattaya returning to the pre covid days plenty of empty bars knocking shops closed shops and restaurants etc The cost of living crisis and the cost of flights is putting off the tourists who used to come to Pattaya for the bar scene the new tourists from China and India don't usually frequent farang style bars that's why so many bars closed they rely heavily on a dwindling ex pat community and tourists that sadly are not coming in the numbers required to sustain the entertainment industry!
The future is hard to predict, High season will be hard to predict, many bars open since December or only braking even now no big customer now these bars were ok closed during Covid and only paying 50% rent now there back to 100% these bars need business starting November out the door with customers for high season,
Lolita is a title of a famous book by Vladimir Nabokov. Basically it's about a man who has an obsessive lust for his underaged stepdaughter. A tale about perversion and love gone wrong.
Lolita light of my life, fire of my loins! If you read the book it is much more nuanced than is often portrayed. She wasn't naive, she sought to trap Humbert.
Don't people realized how not unique these little bars are? Just how much business do you think you will do as compared to the thousand other similar places in Pattaya? I hope you have not gone all in
and another foreigner's money bites the dust. Wish you well, but over the last 20 years of my travels there, after paying the key money, the mafia, the music police, the police, and all the other bills that pop up, then dealing with the help coming and going, Thai business mentality, etc. All I can say is I hope you did not start this thinking you would just be sitting back, and just raking in money.
Bars are a grey area now for the for seen future in Pattaya, There’s is a rebuilding process need some people you talk Pattaya think 2-3 years before back to pre Covid levels
very good video. I do wish you good luck

The power cable on the streets look like a spiderweb and dangerous. I should visit this place.
You must be really excited with the way its coming along mate..looks great.
Hi John, yes i am starting to get excited now.
Great to see things coming together in your new bar. You still seem pretty relaxed but I’m sure there have been some finger biting. Soi 15 has come on leaps and bounds with some decent places to stay right in the heart of everything.
Hi Keef, once these roadworks are finished soi 15 will be a great place to drink or stay
Great stuff as always! Hope to see it someday.
Hi Bo, i hope so too
Corner Bar at the back of Avenue used to be So's Place Restaurant. Sad to see it did not survive.

Hi Kevin, yes, iots great to see genuine progress at last
Dean in the U.K. they don’t tile walls any more, the use “wet wall panels” it’s much quicker and cheaper.
Hi Deek, good point, im suprised it hasnt caught on here yet, I will ask the builder if he knows about these panels

Thanks Jason
A clean shave by tuks coming soon mate 😁🤭
555! they do a good job there, always busy
It never ceases to amaze me the mess in which many people seem happy to work - and not only in Thailand.
Hi Harry, i agree, it would drive me mad!!
Lolita's,.... really? Are you familiar with the main business theme that place in its various locations used to be in? Soi LK metro, then it moved
I am now !!

Hi Andrew, no i wouldn't have!! lets see what they come up with for a name at lolitas
Road construction on soi 15 ,couldn't stay there till complete
Hi Tony, i think alot of people feel like that, hopefully it will be done before high season
Looks like a war zone, hope it works out👍
Hi Ray, it does look pretty bad !
@@divebar6052 dangerous as hell and that standing water is mosquito heaven, be safe protect your staff😎

Why don't you buy Cloud 9 great bar and guesthouse met you in there at pool with your brother.
Hi Anthony, it was a great bar, i've got my hands full with the Dive bar and vault, but i agree cloud 9 is a great spot and someone will do well there

Correct, Beer is a great girl

I didn't know that, but i still think its a great name, a shame if they change it. I will keep you posted on their progress

Far from it, i have opened and run 8 bars on 3 continents, I know the work involved to be a sucess
