Professional as always! BTW: the spigot has two screw sizes - smaller 1/4" and larger 3/8". Yes, 1/4" is more common but I believe that the reason for having 3/8" thread on the stand mount is universality - you can adapt 1/4" screw to 3/8" with an 1$ adapter that you can even keep in the hole of the stand mount without it protruding. Adapting 3/8" screw to 1/4" would be (and is!) very annoying because of the adapter size and additional height.
Long time fan of your channel, your expertise, and your frank delivery. Question: I am an indie filmmaker, and often running solo. SO I set up my lighting and my shots, and get to work acting. My thought is DMX control can really step up my ability to control the scene and do some exciting things, but the controller is a bit beyond my budget. Is there no software equivalent yet? ANy solutions for a scrappy indie?
I'll see if they get in touch with me. I reviewed the 300, but after that review I would be guessing they will wait until they have some good modifiers available as that was their weak point
Thanks for the content! I always look forward to your videos. I'd love to see some kind of a shootout between an Intellytech Mega-litecloth and a LiteGear Litemat plus 4 if there's any way you could manage it. I like the idea of the intellytech but I don't know how I feel about the diffusion compared to the diff that comes with the litemat.
I’m just starting with it and it’s great so far. They are updating the app so it’s much more versatile and more powerful than before. If you do, but it from the website, it costs less.
Sidus looks sleek but for professional use, it's a nightmare and needs a complete revamp. I can list all the problems but not here. No matter what they do with DMX, Sidus itself is the weak link. I do hope they produce some cheap transceivers that are compatible with CRMX.
I have a lot of clients who rent Aputure because of Sidus link. I think it's a great idea to try and incorporate other lights for those guys. And it will probably be easier to use than my exalux. But personally I can't stand the app. It works perfectly until it doesn't, and that's usually when I need it to work the most I doubt it would be sending continuous updates like CRMX and I didn't realise how robust that makes a system until I went over to CRMX.
@@Trevellian it would be a rebuild of the app from the ground up, which I think would create major issues for the thousands of users who have invested the time learning how to use it.
@@gaffergear Perhaps if Siduslink gained the ability to send continual updates like CRMX, it could maintain the same interface while removing the liabilities you've found.
"I'd say you need at least 3 to 5 of them." 🤣 Subtle yet ravishing wit. Thanks for the kit overview and the humor.

Big fan of your videos mate. From Los Angeles

5 years ago when lights were mono and Bi-colour I would have said yes. But not currently.
@@gaffergear damn, well either way thanks for the lightning response
Hi Andrew love your videos … are you ever going to cover the prolycht cobs at some point?

I would love to see that too but I don't know any intellitec dealers in Australia
Have you ever used or reviewed Blackout Lighting Console app that runs on an iPad?
I have not, but Luke over at "Meet the Gaffer" loves it and has a few episodes

Have you checked out the gaffers control yet? It's really really nice. full CRMX compatible and super easy to use :D
I haven't as yet, I know a few guys who have got them and they seem very happy.
What do you think of SidusLink's plans to support DMX?

@@gaffergear Good to know. Have you shared your experiences with Aputure? They seem surprisingly responsive to critiques of their gear.
