Im about 2 thirds of the way through this thanks to your video Filip and a full tab I found. Im starting to get the "feel" of it now. Im not sure how others learn with tab but I tend to bash my way through and try to get the tab in my brain....then with practice things start to come together and it starts to feel more natural. Hopefully one day I will hit the "feel" as well as you! Thanks again. Ryland next and Im looking forward to it :D

Can someone explain the theory behind this song, I learn by ear mostly but when it comes to jazz ear is just not enough, if anyone can explain what I need to learn, and I’m not saying I can’t read notes or know scales but which should I know so I can play this kind of music
Honestly from theory point of view this is a simple song and what Julian is improvising on the tune is also far from advanced harmonic concepts. What is really impresive is his fluidity and ease with which he's putting this all together. It's just music flowing out of him. It's thousand little things that he learned through the years and are a part of his vast musical vocabulary. If you want to learn more about his approach search for his 40 min class that is available here on YT.

is the tab correct? I can't seem to follow along to the playing, it feels as though some parts dont line up for me
edit: tab definitely doesn't line up with video, thank you for all the work you've done but this tab is not accurate.
The tab might not be exactly what I played on the video. Melody and harmony is correct but rhtyhms may vary as in every Julians performance. Treat it more like a guideline. I'm currently working now on new version with the whole song tabbed out.
