DISCLAIMER: Aside from the delicious soup, there are a few menu items in this episode that may not be of any interest to you; you have been warned. With that said, please respect cultural delicacies that are different from yours. Let's get more adventurous with food, but I do understand if you want to sit out on this one. If so, I'll see you on my next mukbang? Love & peace ✌️. Thank you. ❤
Thien Le - i love love love this video! Definitely one of my favorite- coz I'm Filipino!! Lol i love that you pay tribute to other cultures with utmost respect and your willingness to try out other things just makes me admire you even more.
Thien Le and also i love dipping lechon in vinegar it's common too..and *Sarap* is short for *masarap* 😊 im not in the Philippines now and i miss Filipino foods.
What I love about you is that you try different things. You do mukbangs with different cultures. That's what separates you to other mukbang youtubers. You're very adventurous! Love from the Philippines Thien ❤️
I'm Vietnamese but I lived in the Philippines until I was 9 and this episode made me miss Filipino food sooooooooooo much. Especially the bananacue!! I remember vendors would walk through my neighborhood around late afternoon and they usual yell this really distinct call like "BaaaNANAcueeeeeee" and people would flock to them once they hear it. Your selection of food is always on point and I love that you always try to cook atleast one dish on camera!
bich.thy i love banana cue esp turon. I used to buy turon in robinson mall coz it has langka on it. If ever im in my hometown i used to buy banana cue in the market.
Thien Le my man, I have no idea how I was able to sit through 45 minutes of this video without going crazy. At one point, I was literally drooling! On a more serious note, I honestly enjoy your Filipino mukbangs. I moved in to the Philippines 5 years ago when I got married to my Filipina wife and in those five years I can say that food really is the heart of Filipino culture. By learning about their food, you actually learn about their history. The variety of influences on their dishes reflect the country's more than 400 years of colonization by different countries. By learning more about their food, you can actually learn their way of living through out the history. And that made it easy for me to adjust to life in the Philippines. Yes, in the eyes of many it is a third world country and it is poverty stricken, but it actually has one of the richest cultures in the world; and people do not appreciate that enough - even some Filipinos themselves. That being said, I admire how you emphasized your respect to their culture that you even remind potential (internet) bashers to respect the food and avoid giving bad comments. I admire that you respect the culture enough that you actually tried to cook it yourself. In fact, it really is part of the experience! There are so much things I want to say but my comment is getting longer. All I want to say is I love your work, your videos, your (very significant) ramblings. Keep it up! PS I hope all the Filipinos out there bombard you with food requests! Lol! I'll leave it to them.
When theres sinigang i usually eat 10 scoops of rice without even noticing that ive already eaten that much 😂 filipino food will make you forget about your diet
it depends, some like vinegar, some vinegar and soy sauce, calamnsi and soy sauce, calamansi and fish sauce, combined with an ingerdient of your choice (onion, garlic, pepper, chillies etc...), for me it would be fish sauce with chillies, while sipping on the sinigang broth with rice... oh born and raised in the Philippines here :)
Ok! Last comment (or i hope it is for this vid)... put the durian in the freezer for maybe 15 minutes or just enough for it to be cold throughout. Itll knock the smell out a bit and I feel like it takes on the consistency of ice cream😉👍🏻🍦
+Keyah Schiffer I did so much research on what you it's wanted to see and SINIGANG was the number one choice and request. I have a special place in my heart for "comfort" foods from all different cultures.
Thanks for trying our Filipino cuisine. Me and my wife love your video, especially the way you chew. Try adding ginger in the sinigang. It will add flavor. Try eating dinuguan, egg rolls and fresh lumpia, too. Mabuhay from Houston, TX!
+Dokito Prito haha! My friend (she is filipino) told me to make sure I have enough rice 🍚. She said it was the most important part of the meal. 😂 you guys don't mess around with rice, do you?
Hahaha! Rice is really important in every Filipino meal. I was amazed just how your bowl keeps on producing rice basing on that big spoon to mouth scoops you did. Your sinigang is awesome you cooked it the traditional way, some even add young tamarind leaves to further enhance the sourness and the aroma. The fish/shrimp version of the sinigang is somehow similar to your canh chua ca. You need to try the original lechon too (not the lechon kawali) which is also good while drinking beer. By the way, lechon can either be dipped in spiced vinegar with/or soy sauce or that mang tomas lechon sauce. When it comes to food Sarap=flavor/mixing of flavors of ingredients, masarap=delicious/how the food tastes. Sarap/masarap can be used in other forms of conversations in the Philippines (from naughty to nice). ✌🏻👍🏻😎
You deserve to experience filipino food and hospitality here in the Philippines. It will really be awesome seeing you doing a mukbang with a whole lechon.
Amazing job cooking your Sinigang I'm impressed! Hate to admit I've never made with fresh Tamarind I've always cheated with that damn msg packet which I love/hate.. You've inspired me to make it properly! I just adore you!
malleysmama My mom taught us how to cook with natural ingredients so we rarely ever use the powdered seasonings. The difference is that the natural tamarind gives more flavor and sourness which makes it so delicious! You definitely should try it xD
Kudos for making the sinigang from scratch. Not a lot of Filipino make it the old traditional way anymore as instant flavorings are now so conveniently available. Oh and I am so glad that you didn't throw up eating the balut and durian 😂😂😂 a lot of people are disgusted by these delicacies, but dont knock it til you try it!! 👍👍👍👍
just watched your mukbang and you made me crave for sinigang... try cooking in your show, two of my favorite Filipino dishes, Pinangat na Gabi and Ginataang Langka. Enjoy...
dude you make me salivating here in toronto .. I just finished my dinner but what you've got there is a perfect combo to have doesn't matter if lunch or for dinner. ... keep it up love you bro
u missed labanos (raddish).. the taro u put the 2nd time together with sitaw makes sitaw overcooked before the 2nd set of taro.. whenever i try cooking sinigang i put a little bit of black pepper.. and im glad that u sed a fresh tamarind for the sour flavor. Batuan (i dont know the english name of it) is a good alternative too and i prefer it acrually..
the sinigang powder mix was made because tamarind is a seasonal fruit here in the phil. during summer pork sinigang is served because it refreshes. other times kamias, guava, even unripe mango is used. thanks for trying out the food we served in our country and really liking it.☺
you can try the lechon as the meat used in Sinigang..but you have to put the lechon last to maintain the crispiness of the skin. :) I enjoyed your video!
Sarap and masarap has the same meaning mean delicious, "sarap" was just the short version. Filipino's tend to shorten words. Cool mukbang btw. I like how you made sinigang na baboy (pork) you should try it with prawns it's my favourite. Have you been to Philippines?
this is a great video. :) im happy you loved our food and btw i commend you for doing the sinigang na baboy you made it in a very traditional way. :) keep it up! ;)
Thien! My dad will absolutely love the way you eat sinigang because you eat all the vegetables!!! I'm so glad you like Filipino food. Stay wonderful ❤️
How come you have only 89k subscribers?! 😐 you deserve atleast a million subs! Srsly. Thank you for loving Filipino foods even the odd ones like Durian and Balut ❤ not even some of filipinos here in my country can eat that. Lol you are awesome and very adventurous! God bless you
Omg Thien you'd be my perfect twin personality. I love your personality so much. So down to earth with a kick of some bad ass attitude. Love it! Btw I'm Filipino too and sinigang and lechon are my favs.
This is the best episode I love. Cooking the "sinigang live," and you have "lechon kawali" again with Mang Tomas's sauce. And you eat the Balut with class. Yes, that is a plantain, and Filipino eats it for snacks. Please keep sharing different cuisine from every different country. Greeting you from Japan. Gokigenyo!!!
That sinigang looks really bomb tho. I can say you really did a good job nailing the recipe. My mouth is salivating right now, I can only imagine how deliciously sour that is. And whenever I hear the crunch from the lechon kawali, a year is added to my life. Oh and for the Jollibee sequel, please try spicy chickenjoy, palabok, some of their jolly hotdogs maybe, aloha burger (if it's available there), and most especially peach mango pie!!!!
Firstly, thank you for another Filipino food mukbang/cookbang, this video makes me prouder to be a Filipino. I am amazingly happy that you really enjoyed those Filipino food. The way you made your soup for Sinigang is also amazing using the "real thing". I also like the way you enjoyed LECHON KAWALI with Mang Tomas sauce. But what i love most in this video is how you like eating BALUT and DURIAN, sure it is challenge food. Oh before I forget, you can use the fish sauce with some chillis as your "sawsawan" (dip) for your Sinigang. And for the 2nd Jollibee video suggestion do try PEACH MANGO PIE and AMAZING ALOHA BURGER. And also since you love spicy food, make your CHICKEN JOY spicy, i heard its also available there. See you in the Philippines!
It's so amazing to see you eat them so easily without the nasty remarks I commonly see when people try Balut or Durian. As a Filipino, its just really heartwarming to see how much you enjoy them when some of us dont even like them LOL. I prepare Sinigang differently and use a different type of chili, and it is indeed a family meal.
SWEARRRRR. I LOVE SINIGANG. 😍 MY MOM COOKS IT AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ITTTTT. 😍 Thien, you should try dinuguan and batchoy! Dinuguan is like a stew and it's soooo delicious! One of my favorite foods! My dad cooks it! And batchoy is a noodle soup!!!! My mom cooks it and it's sooooo delicious!!!!!!!
Am a new subscriber..yey..so love your vid i've been seeing this but not watching for some reason..i didn't expect the cooking part..soo cute when you said "SARAP"...exactly how we say it when we really like the food..for me if I taste something and I simply say MASARAP, it means it's just ok but not a wow..but while eating, and I say SARAAAAAP, it means it's really goooood..love yah Thien.. Shalimar here from PH...\m/
Normally we dont fry the pork before adding the soup. We boil the pork with tomatoes and onion for a good 30 mins (or more, its fine. the softer the better) so that the pork juice(?) and onions and tomatoes would be the base of your soup before adding the tamarind and other veggies. But for a first timer, you did very good! It looks scrumptious! Great job!
The fact the you cooked your own Sinigang makes me so happy to watch this!!! You did not just taste our food you experienced the authenticity of it. I really love that. :) I also love how you describe foods you makes us crave for it!!! I am definitely craving now!! I genuinely enjoy watching this! Also please do travel the Philippines we have the best beaches here. Love from the PH!! :)
Filipinos, when you show proper care, and show respect for what they consider as valuable, will truly become brave and loyal supporters for life.... most even become lifelong friends...
We love our food! :) And we love people all over the world trying out our food because we want to share the delciousness with you. ;) Thank you for this! I now have a recipe to follow haha.
I just went to visit the Philippines and I didn't dare to try the fertilized egg.. then I watched your video. The way you break it down just drove all the fear away.. you're the best thien! binge watching your videos now!
until now I can't really imagine how could you even possibly eat that much lol 😂 for sure you really work out hard to burn those foods you ate. I am really amazed haha for me your the best in mukbang videos! so keep it up man! 👍 try the Jollibee spaghetti, palabok, peach mango pie, halo-halo and Aloha hamburger. come and visit, it's more fun im the Philippines! 👍
Good job on that Sinigang. Pork sinigang really is the best version and you picked the right part, which is ribs. The lechon kawali is to die for. How I wish I can just reach out from my TV and steal some of your food.
I really appreciate you giving credits to filipino food. With us filipinos it is very rare seeing other culture loving what our own. More power and long life buddt thein.
Gosh! You're so much more handsome every day that goes by! You are literally glowing!!! ✨ I don't know if I'm here to see you cook or just here to see your face or maybe both! 😍 LOL 😂
It is always good to have taro in a sinigang recipe. It'll help the soup become thicken Vegetables in my Sinugang are: taro, saba banana, eggplant, legumes, tomatoe, tamarind, water spinach, raddish and sometimes bok choy or napa cabbage
Thien Le since im no pork nor beef eater i usually cook shrimp sinigang or fish (esp. salmon) sinigang. Agree to use fresh tamarind and not from those mixed powder in sachets. Thanx much for trying our dish. i love viet and thai cuisines as well --- from toronto 😊 xxxx

When theres sinigang i usually eat 10 scoops of rice without even noticing that ive already eaten that much 😂 filipino food will make you forget about your diet
the reason why Filipino loves you, aside from being extremely good looking, you are a natural in what you do. 😍
Im with you!
Eating is natural wdym
yes so true. walang arte. so natural.
Just Debbie mean di maarte iguess 😏
I agree
I actually like dipping lechon kawali in vinegar, which I think is a more southern Philippines way of doing it. We don't really use liver sauce.
Chedz Culinary Club i prefer vinegar too.
Chedz Culinary Club yah...lechon kawali taste better with spicy vinegar...hmm love it
Chedz Culinary Club yep. I agree
it depends, some like vinegar, some vinegar and soy sauce, calamnsi and soy sauce, calamansi and fish sauce, combined with an ingerdient of your choice (onion, garlic, pepper, chillies etc...), for me it would be fish sauce with chillies, while sipping on the sinigang broth with rice... oh born and raised in the Philippines here :)
Chedz Culinary Club 🍗🍗🍗
The love and admiration is so strong over here, Thien! Youre my fave for a reason😘😘😘
Also, I dont eat balut anymore. I did back in the Philippines and I was maybe in 3rd grade 😜 but you make me so proud. Made me miss the Philippines 😭
Palabok and Peach Mango Pie from Jollibee. Dont know if you recall but I mentioned in your Jollibee mukbang that I worked there when I was 15 in Cali.
Ok! Last comment (or i hope it is for this vid)... put the durian in the freezer for maybe 15 minutes or just enough for it to be cold throughout. Itll knock the smell out a bit and I feel like it takes on the consistency of ice cream😉👍🏻🍦
Emily G - i agree and that's the only time i'll eat Durian if ever. It definitely is an acquired taste. Im not a big fan, though.
I don't know how many times I have already watched this video Thien❤I love it

+Keyah Schiffer I did so much research on what you it's wanted to see and SINIGANG was the number one choice and request. I have a special place in my heart for "comfort" foods from all different cultures.
Thien Le Omg can I come over? lol Your huge pot of Sinigang looks so bomb. lol
Rosemarie Ann Awa Qt is the bombs
I personally prefer sinigang over the adobo mainly because I'm more of a broth person. That sour broth, yuummmmmm!
sinigang is my favorite
Thanks for trying our Filipino cuisine. Me and my wife love your video, especially the way you chew. Try adding ginger in the sinigang. It will add flavor. Try eating dinuguan, egg rolls and fresh lumpia, too. Mabuhay from Houston, TX!

That rice bowl is magical! Seems like it never runs out of rice! 😎✌🏻👍🏻...
+Dokito Prito haha! My friend (she is filipino) told me to make sure I have enough rice 🍚. She said it was the most important part of the meal. 😂 you guys don't mess around with rice, do you?

MR. THIEN, the egg bird looks gross!
Dokito Prito more like sarap =deliciousness/pleasure (noun). Masarap =delicious/pleasurable (adjective.)
Dokito Prito It's filipino food. unli rice all over. what are you talking about? xD

Amazing job cooking your Sinigang I'm impressed! Hate to admit I've never made with fresh Tamarind I've always cheated with that damn msg packet which I love/hate.. You've inspired me to make it properly! I just adore you!
Ditto ... Didn't know you could use real tamarind... Grew up with packets. Soooo gonna try the real stuff now.
nikevr it's young, unripe tamarind pods that you should use. the one he used is ripe tamarind pulp already.
malleysmama My mom taught us how to cook with natural ingredients so we rarely ever use the powdered seasonings. The difference is that the natural tamarind gives more flavor and sourness which makes it so delicious! You definitely should try it xD
I so love watching you eat, Thien!
I don't think I can ever try balut. It's good that I get to eat it vicariously through you!
Thank you for loving the Filipinos and Pilipino foods. God bless and more power.

Jan Mari Dela Virgen agree feels like all of us sinners are being burned alive 😂
Best way to describe it is.....Sarap is like saying "yummy".....Masarap is like the ultimate of "delicious"
He's Vietnamese. Balut is also common to them, as well as Thais & Cambodians. It's not a unique Filipino food. Durian is also a normal Asian favorite.
just watched your mukbang and you made me crave for sinigang... try cooking in your show, two of my favorite Filipino dishes, Pinangat na Gabi and Ginataang Langka. Enjoy...
dude you make me salivating here in toronto .. I just finished my dinner but what you've got there is a perfect combo to have doesn't matter if lunch or for dinner. ... keep it up love you bro

Great job!
Am I the only one who can't take their eyes off on the yolk that dropped in the soup?
The fact the you cooked your own Sinigang makes me so happy to watch this!!! You did not just taste our food you experienced the authenticity of it. Filipinos, when you show proper care, and show respect for what they consider as valuable, will truly become brave and loyal supporters for life.... most even become lifelong friends...

Good job on that Sinigang. Pork sinigang really is the best version and you picked the right part, which is ribs. The lechon kawali is to die for. How I wish I can just reach out from my TV and steal some of your food.
love this video but the green veggies were a little overcooked 😂😁😀 subscribed!!
Thank you for the recipe. I hope to try it. it looks so yummy.
I'm Filipino but I cannot eat duck balut but love chicken balut 😂
I really appreciate you giving credits to filipino food. With us filipinos it is very rare seeing other culture loving what our own. More power and long life buddt thein.
Gosh! You're so much more handsome every day that goes by! You are literally glowing!!! ✨ I don't know if I'm here to see you cook or just here to see your face or maybe both! 😍 LOL 😂
+Letty y'all know how to make me blush! I feel like one of those pretty ASMR girls that boys like to watch at night. 😂😂
+Thien Le ohh, so you watch asmr? haha
so cute guy as always. lucky girl to have you
Sharon Duncan - You mean lucky guy, right? 😎
It is always good to have taro in a sinigang recipe. It'll help the soup become thicken
Vegetables in my Sinugang are: taro, saba banana, eggplant, legumes, tomatoe, tamarind, water spinach, raddish and sometimes bok choy or napa cabbage
Well your jollibee video and the first filipino mukbang are your 2 most viewed videos :)
ps I don't like sinigang but the finished product of your sinigang made me want to give it a second shot.
+Artee Chi good! The power of mukbang 😘
Thien Le since im no pork nor beef eater i usually cook shrimp sinigang or fish (esp. salmon) sinigang. Agree to use fresh tamarind and not from those mixed powder in sachets. Thanx much for trying our dish. i love viet and thai cuisines as well --- from toronto 😊 xxxx
i just love how you eat that whole piece of lechon kawali and that crunch! Mmmm! its something to die for..
nice foods! hey watch out Thien, balut plus durian with coke will make your blood pressure high.
Sinigang is one of my most loved comfort Pinoy food....masarap! 🇵🇭
