    I’m American but went to Bao sheng farm for a visit and it was super fun, and the family was very kind. I liked the ‘monkey’ durian they served me.

    So lovely to see my beautiful couple is back! Thank you for sharing your amazing journey in exploring Bao Sheng Durian Farm. Stay well and happy as always. We love durian, we do not get a fresh one here in the US, we envy you!!!!

    Numb taste durian is what I seek too when I visit a durian farm. That warm buzzy feeling tingling sensation on your tongue. But after talking to a few durian farmers, it's not every tree and not every freshly dropped durian that could give that numb taste. I picked some freshly fallen durians too and didn't find numbness. I believe it tends to happen with certain trees only. But freshness is definitely one of the factors though not a guarantee.

    Amazing experience! The room & poil and views are great.
    After tasting so many varieties, can you tell now the difference? (Seeing the durians? Or have to try them and taste?)
    And the fact that they are so fresh falling from the tree only hours before 😲
    Good thing they have those nets! I would be too excited about a spiky durian fallin on my head! 😅🤕

      @PuriandSue  Год назад

      Thanks! We still can't tell the difference, honestly 😅 Gotta leave that to the durian masters. Though we can probably tell which is from an older tree now by how far apart the torns are.

    What a wonderful place surrounded by nature. How is the mosquito situation?
    That room is dreamy.
    I would have never thought of a Durian tasting. Oh my, good thing there is a net. That has to hit hard.
    The view is so beautiful! It would be hard to go to sleep there as I would just want to keep enjoying the views
    That is so interesting about how to activate the fragrance of it, since they don't hit the floor.

      Lots of mosquitoes during the farm tour but barely any at the room or the common area. Tip is to keep the room cool always! Yea, we learnt so much about our favourite fruit during this trip 😍

    Can you tell me how to get to the durian farm in Penang? How to arrange for transport? Will there be a coach bus to pick us up in Penang? And how to get back to Penang from the durian farm on the last day?

    • @PuriandSue
      @PuriandSue  Год назад +1

      Hi there. We're unsure if there are any public transport that can take you there. There are no bus stops or taxis in the area. The only way we noticed is by renting a car or taking a private vehicle to get to the farm.

      It takes about an hour's drive from Georgetown or 35 mins from the Penang Airport

    • @PuriandSue
      @PuriandSue  Год назад

      Hi there! The durian farm is at Balik Pulau in Penang Island. If I search on Google Map Komtar tower to Bao Sheng Durian Farm, it takes about 1 hour drive to get there.

    From reviews, some visitors complained about small insects (e.g. small lizards, ants, etc) creeping into the suite. Did you encounter such nuisances?

    Hi there, since it’s surrounded by farm, was there lot of insects or bug around the swimming pool or room?

    • @PuriandSue
      @PuriandSue  Год назад +1

      Hi. We do notice a few bugs around the swimming pool and room but not many. However, the farm tour has lots of mosquitoes. We highly advice to bring mosquito repellant.

    Is there no mosquitos at the durian farm? I admire you wearing shorts everywhere you go in Malaysia. My legs will possible be covered with mosquitoes bites if I wear shorts. Did you get any mozzie bites at the durian farm?

    • @PuriandSue
      @PuriandSue  Год назад +1

      Yes, there are mosquitoes during the evenings and especially at the farm tour. We strongly advice to bring mosquito repellant or wear long pants for the tour. But we rarely had any mosquitoes in the room or at the dining area.

    How many different durian types did you guys end up trying and which one was your favourite?

    • @PuriandSue
      @PuriandSue  Год назад

      We tried about 8 or 9 durian types. All of them were great. Although we've always liked those with alcoholic bittersweetness. Our favourites would be Green Skin and D15. Would love to try more Black Thorn (it's rare, we only had one each during the trip)
