This was the show back in the day that had EVERYTHING: the sleek neo-noir cinematography, the glamorous Miami setting, the new wave music & big pop/rock hits, the cutting edge fashion trends, the exotic cars, the hot sexy women, and the big name actors & guest star celebrities. No wonder people stayed home on Friday nights just to watch it on TV.
Glad you mentioned neo-noir, because I always label this show "neon-noir", which is mixing neo-noir with bright colors and generally just all things flashy. It really needs to become a subgenre, especially as a tribute to this show. All the more a favorite of mine, a lover of both grit and bright colors.
Miami Vice is My Favorite Television Show Since i Was A Teenager From The 80's and 90'S and and Until Now and Until Now i Still Very Enjoy Watching Don Johnson and Jan hammer They Are Very Great Actors i Love it i'm From Vancouver British Columbia Canada love it 😎😁👍👍👌
@@anghubbynimsm7854 Well, I'm not sure. And I love the car doing the two wheelie on season 1 episode 1.😊💙💙💙💙💙💙👍. What's your favorite chase episode on Season 2?😊.
@@anghubbynimsm7854 Rick Bravo Jr. said DJ was a very good and a fast driver. One evening after they finished shooting an episode DJ drove him to the Universal parking lot in the Daytona and according to Rick DJ was driving really fast.
I've never liked that episode, and this clip gave me another reason to dislike it. Crockett and Tubbs (who are ostensibly undercover) decide to engage in a high-speed chase because...? Are they going to give the guy a speeding ticket? The only good things about that episode are the shots during the chase from the wheels' point of view and the shattered-glass ending.
Interesting to note that the chase from the Season 1 episode 1 Brother's Keeper is the only time we see Sonny drive a different make of car. As for the first 2 seasons he drives a Daytona (a modified corvette) and a white Ferrari Testarossa for the remaining 3 seasons.
I watched the chase scene from Bought And Paid For so many times, I damaged that section of the VHS tape I had it recorded on. I did the same thing with the J.R. Johnston scene from The Prodigal Son; a scene that hasn't aged a nanosecond since the day it was shot.
Poor Tubbs, getting milkshake all over him at 0:03 and even a little bit in his hair. I love how he keeps slipping in it before he finds some traction. He probably had to do laundry that night to get the stains out.
"they act on the road, their interventions are chilling, their adversaries: traffickers, murderers and blackmailers. There is no rest for these men when it rings: Miami Vice, our safety is in your hands"with Don Johnson as "Sonny Crockett", Philip Michael Thomas as "Ricardo Tubbs", Erdogan Atalay as "Semir Gerkham" and Edward James Olmos as "Castillo". ALERT MIAMI COBRA VICE 11 Highway Undercover Police XD
2:50 clip used in GTA VC & Gray Pontiac 4dr used later. 7:19 the first chase my favorite I would what became of that berlinetta Camaro I also built the paint in Forza Horizon series well the ones that had it even the grill openings too
You watch this and you think, "damn, this show is definitely has a lot of 80s inspiration", then you realize that this show was made and came out in the 80s and that this was contemporary for the time and was "present day" and I just sit back and smile. Man what a time. Also, goddamn renting those rides must've cost a fortune for the show. The stunt drivers did a good job.
4:53- Holy frak! Was that a corpse that got tossed outta that Porsche? Yo, I forgot what that episode 'Florence, Italy' was about. Miami Vice, can you help me out with some details on that episode, please?
Many of the "classic" Vice elements that popularized the show to begin with would disappear following this episode, including Crockett's Bren Ten handgun, his tortoise shell Ray-Ban Wayfarers (replaced by Persol frames), the classic pastel look (replaced by darker, neon colors), Tubbs' long hair (which remained short for the rest of the series), and Crockett's short in the front, long in the back "bouffant" hairdo (replaced by a short spiky cut). However, some of these features would return later; Crockett would switch back to black Wayfarers in season 4, pastels reappeared periodically in seasons 4 and 5, and Crockett's hair also went back to its longer style for the last two seasons (in season 5 it grew out to its longest length).
In the episode Bought & Paid For did anybody notice the fact that during that chase sequence 2 separate white Lamborghinis were used??? As noted by the taillights!!!!
Anyone know what car they used for the sound bites of the Daytona? A corvette/ferrari with a 305/350 auto doesn’t sound so European. My guess and the reason I ask is it was the white Lambo. Maybe the real Daytona in the first episode, but not sure.
I’ve read and heard rumours over the years that the editing team dubbed the sound in a recording studio to best match the sound of an authentic V12 from a Daytona, from my knowledge and understanding though is that the Daytona never revved that high to the point where it should have blown the engine

There was or is no tv show life Miami Vice before or since! #MiamiViceforever 🌴🌴🌊🌊

Masculinity and class. Now you can cut yer nuts p and be cool
No CGI or green screens, yet each episode was better than most of today's movies
I could watch Miami Vice chase scenes forever !
It's like watching the Nascar car race🤩👍
Are Manys Bro Ufff
if there was a wormhole to the 80s, i'd happily walk into one.
It was the high water mark. Its been downhill ever since.
Miami Vice has had some fantastic chase sequences. I think I'll go with the speedboats from One Way Ticket.
OMG imagine a Miami vice reboot with today's super cars and technology I would be hooked on this show if it was done right do you all agree.??
Ricardo Tubbs was beastin!!!!!!
How did the bad guy in the first scene keep changing the taillights on his Lambo from big to small while being chased? Even more amazing!
How did he get chased in the second scene despite being the guy in the first scene as you say? Even more amazing!
Because they used different year Lambos for filming

Don't you think we need a reboot .wow throw in a bugatti and I'm all smiles.
"Congratulations pal"!!!! New York!!!!!

A Porsche 911 in 'Forgive Us Our Debts', a '59 Chevrolet Apache in 'Stones War', and an early Ford Mustang in 'Smuggler's Blues'.
was TUBBS rent a car as well as the only time he drove CROCKETT'S boat.
Also you can see the REAL Daytona as a Crockett's car for a few seconds in Brother's Keeper.
Love those speed boat beats! Humming engines and full throttle!
Incredible chase scenes. Thanks for posting...🚤🏎🏃♂️
I used to love watching Miami vice !!❤
Bought and Paid For is my favorite chase. We've got two high-powered sports cars racing like mad and Jan Hammer's music is extraordinary!
You missed out the chase scene from season 4 episode "Baseballs of Death", which I consider as one of the best in Miami Vice
It always was and will be my favorite show.
The best cop show in television history.. ( maybe Adam 12 and Dragnet compare)
Let's not forget Police Squad.
In Color. 😉
Back when the US had about 100 million less people in it. Those were the days.
Miami Vice was such a great show.
Cheers from Tokyo :3
Don Johnson was perfecting the Tom Cruise run before Tom Cruise even started!
the chase scene from the second season episode THE DUTCH OVEN to Pat Benatar's Diamond Field was one of the best.
Poor Tubbs slipping and sliding in the milkshake and gets the last laugh when Crockett falls over the luggage cart
My favorite car chase is from 'Lombard' with U2's "Wire" in the background.
That's when I got into U2S Music and alot of other artists because of miami vice 😉👍
Awesome! Can you please do a 'part 2', with chase scenes in the Testarossa and the Scarab?
sure!
My favorite chase scenes from Miami Vice are from the pilot/Brother's Keeper, Milk Run, the Home Invanders and Dutch Oven. #MiamiViceforever 🌴🌴🌊🌊🌊
@@anghubbynimsm7854 Me too Dutch Oven itself is an underrated episode.
In milk run did tubbs about to say YOU MOTHER------??

Dude that Spyder Stinger whatever the car is, it legit sounds like Skylike R34 lol
Sounds more like the Supra from the first FnF. Won’t be surprised if they used SFX from Miami Vice to create the Supra sound…
Stunt co Paul Knuckles and Artie Malesci at there best .......!
My Favorite MV chase was One Way Ticket episode
LOL @ like 1:40 they played the sound of KITT from knight rider as the sound the Lamborghini makes! HAH!

8:09 That Camaro sounds really nice.
Try a Datsun Ferrari 😂😂
I also like the car chases from Dutch Oven and Buddies (both season 2). And the gun fight chase at Jimmy's apartment in Prodigal Son.

Crockett!
Did anyone in Miami back in the 1980s ever where seat belts? hahahaha!
Most people didn't wear seatbelts in the 80's anywhere I don't think.
Notice that the tail lights change on the Lamborghini. I got in almost every Lambo at Prestige Imports when i worked there.
You beast you!
Lol, that line always makes me cringe a bit. Tubbs was quite "out there" in the Pilot! 🌴
Dude in the Lambo must of that was a Nissan Datsun and not a Datsun Ferrari 😂😂
What kinda car was that white one after the Lamborghini scene?
That is a Porsche 906 Carrera
Miami vice expetacular seriado oss
I covered the music from the Lamborghini chase on my channel 😎
Really great Job 👍😁 Greetings from Germany

The music at the beginning strangely reminds me of the music I hear from the slot machines at the casino. Now I know how they get all my money.
Kinda hard to miss they changed the lambos 🤣, its not the same, look at the rear lights at 2:33 and how its another car a few moments later...
