Man I love your videos. Any advice on making a secure attachment between a 4x4 railing post and the bottom/start of a wooden wheelchair ramp?

I might have something in my stair section at our website on how to make posts stronger, but it usually requires bracing or installing a section of post below ground.

@@gregvancomI remember the video you did last year (maybe) about moving back a post/adding an additional post to stairs to strengthen that connection. I wasn't sure if it would be the same design here. Is it as simple as treating it as another post you'd use for a beam. In other words, do I just secure the post to the footing with a base bracket? I think I like the idea of adding an additional post, maybe a foot apart, to really anchoring that railing. Would you run the ramp all the way to level ground or pour a concrete transition (5' x5'pad with a 1x12 pitch)? To the wooden ramp would set back a bit, and that concrete pad (with a proper footing) could be used to anchor the posts to?
Edit: sorry crazy night, just reread your message. You mean to set a section of post below grade, in the hole. That's not a bad idea and I know they have those protective sleeves and coatings you can put on the post too. I think I will do that and also off set a post back further just to have an additional anchor point there. So have the first post partially buried and then have another post set about a foot back. Or is that just over kill?
