    For those wondering, that motor setup is common for RC airplanes. It would probably make a 2 pound RC plane fly...in other words, 1.5-2 pounds of thrust. In no way shape or form can that motor produce boost. Not only does a fan blade not pressurize air, even if it did, that motor doesn't have the power required to make it happen.

      You are semi-correct. A fan blade can most definitely pressurize air. (A typical exhaust/oil pressure based turbocharger uses fan blades to force more air into the intake manifold diaphragm, however these fan blades can spin at upwards of ~100,000 RPM, producing several PSI of pressure which forces the engine to cycle faster due to the intake pressure forcing more air in, as well as more fuel if tuned properly.
      However with this fan blade spinning at most likely 5,000 - 10,000 RPM, you may see a PSI or two max pressure. Still definitely enough to see a noticeable difference in power, but not nearly the levels of a full on turbo kit. Of course PSI means nothing if the air is not cooled and made more dense with an intercooler. And then also not really worth it if you do not take the time to properly tune your vehicle and just end up blowing it up. You will also limit your CFM with a stock airbox.
      An electric turbo would be pretty cool with a smaller engine, but for pure performance this would do very little in comparison to a several thousand dollar intake and turbo system. I feel like a good estimate with a well tuned vehicle would be ~10% - %15 increase in horsepower which would decrease drastically depending on how large the combustion system is in liters. A 1.6 would see a good boost, but a 5.0 would simply have too much inner volume to be affected by the airflow increase.

      @@canis_machina7280good explanation but most cars would ‘tune’ themselves with this device. Most cars tune up to 2-4psi by them selves. They recognise this by the MAP or MAF sensor also using AFR to adjust.
      So, like you say a small displacement AND low revving engine WOULD take advantage of this fan.
      But…. The alternator would increase drag on the engine. Be interesting to see if power was increased on an engine dyno.

    you cant run the required voltage needed through those 22 gauge wires, the charger is only like .05 to maybe 1 volt and the fan is like 17 with a max to 4
    0 volts, even a 5 amp draw would be undervalues.

    At full power drawing 16.5Amps it will produce 0.1 lb square inch boost - the small gain will not off-set the alternator additional load

    Have you measured the flow rate in CFM at pressure ??. A typical car Turbo can push in the order of 800CFM at 20 psi

    yes that high drawn amp esc 40amp like for drones. a 12v ac to dc adaptor wont be enough amp. i guess thr adapters amp is atound 1amp. better to calibrate esc as well. but yet I am not sure this will give blast. planning to put this on a hyundai 1.1 gas engine.

    I fitted exact same in my hyundai excel 1.5 litre. It's like turning aircon off. I am getting moxed stories on voltage for esc. Can you please tell me what voltage esc can handle as i was going to stepup to 24 volts.? Max amps are 17 that it draws. I have a 50 amp esc! Any reply appreciated thanks from Australia!

    It looks like you do have selector switch to 12v however, would that be 12v @ 500mA only? Try a transformer 12v @ 2A

    QUESTION
    DO YOU NEED TO PROGRAM THE ESC TO DO THIS?
    i am trying to hook up the exact same fan... but it just beeps and wont turn
    i have it attached to 12 volt car battery

      You probably need to calibrate your ESC, also if the throttle is not at 0 when you plug it, it wont arm

      With water injection s well it would spin in first easily. Definitely pulled harder. But need water and methylated spirits and a misting nozzle, i put a borescope in each spark plug. It cleaned up the carbon.

      It will make some difference in a small 4cylinder engine. Maybe gain 5hp.
      The vacuum in a manifold is what draws the air/fuel mixture into the cylinders. At higher rpm the vacuum in the intake starts to drop. A strong enough inline fan can help push the mixture into the combustion chamber much quicker than vacuum can.

      Brother a single axial fan cannot produce a huge pressure unlike to a centrifugal compressor. This axial fan will only experience compressor surge and the volume of the air that will be given to your car engine is not enough even to your single engine and this EDF is very heavy so it only add weight and doubt to you and your engine. And this EDF was only made to cool the big computer nd it is VERY SCREAMING HIGH PITCH LOUD..no goood

    Thanks for trying. Maybe it will work on normal aspirated engine. Map sensor might read more air or compensate the piston rings compression lost from mileage.

    What is your mains voltage? Is this a 12V turbofan? I want to ask if the specified power supply has converted it to 12v. Do I have to match ESC 40A?

    Obvious lack of physics and electro mechanics knowledge. From this charger you can't get 1A@12V;-))) For creating boost pressure during certain air flow @4k RPM of car engine you need powaa;-))

      You can most likely get a switch that you can put under your pedal and rewire the dial to the switch instead so when you press the pedal at a certain point it will start

      4 éve van bent az autóban! Működik! Sajnos át kellett alakítani a csapágyakat! Az eredeti csapágyakkal ~3 hónapig működött! Kapott 4db csapágyat 3 éve és azóta működik gond nélkül! Én átlagos beállításon (középső LED) használom. Nagyon észrevehető az autónál a működése!
