Thanks for being honest and sharing this - fun project those Lidl gliders! My younger son eating them faster that I could repair - apart from tail part of fuselage - really durable - and I mean REALLY durable - good for testing radios.. ;-)
Not bad, maybe a tiny bit of weight on the nose 🤔 the triumph is getting the Lidl glider converted, I have had mine a year now and it remains in its box 😔 Looking forward to seeing the next flight 😎
i On the next build, Put the Ailerons at the ends of the wing not inboard. CG at about 38 - 40mm from lead edge and dont bother with Rudder.. A bit of 2.5mm carbon down the tail will be plenty . Will be such a sweet little flier you wont believe it . best 8 bucks you can spend in this hobby
I got one of these but it hasn't flown yet, I hacked the tail off and turned it into a glorified flying wing, loved the fucks and fuckups when detailing the design, then when the camera falls over that doesn't even warrant an oh shit, just an oh la la rofl.
Lidl Glider RC Conversion, I did the same thing like you, but I want it to do 3D aerobatic( auto-hover in the air vertically). Can we have a mode for 3D aerobatic in the future in inav?
Well done, and thank you for sharing this steeper end of your learning curve! I have recommended this video to a friend who is planning to do the same conversion, and I am sure it will help him a lot. Pleased to subscribe to your channel, and keep up the great work!
If that motor was tilted any higher it would be a helicopter bud lol. Also your control surfaces look a bit small and spine look to heavy. But apart from all the faults nice first attempt. Hope you get it to fly nice. Hope you like your 38 degree weather to day as well.😁🇬🇧👍
@@NicolaGuerrera Thanks! It's cheap Chinese foam glider - you can find tons of this stuff on AliExpress or on local toys market. They are in 2 sizes - 480mm and 330mm ws. First easily care 2 5g servo and 1106 6000kv motor, second - 2 614 or 715 brushed motors and brick from Wltoys v911 helicopter.
@@FPVUniversityYou want to know real will power? I'm less than a mile from 2 Lidls... but I have so far managed to avoid buying any, as trying to perfect a low amp edf FunJet on iNav :)
some late info. yer model is a design disaster. why is this true. at :49, ailerons SHOULD EXTEND TO NEAR the wingtips. because they do not, responses to aileron inputs are DAMPED, and roll-axis control authority is REDUCED. at 1:14, servos should NOT be installed at the TAIL. doing so, has resulted in the model having a TAIL-HEAVY DOM. distribution of mass. the servos SHOULD BE MOVED to a position, NEAR THE CG; above, below the main wing (or IN the wing root). (any opinions relating to the advisability of the use of short pushrods are WRONG.) at 1:49, thrust angle was the LEAST of your worries. it would be a Good idea to use a PROPELLER. at 9:38, BEFORE altering the thrust angle, you SHOULD MOVE THE SERVOS and re-balance the model. INVERT the model, and balance it at 30% of root chord. googletranslate

Bad for me. Lots of speaking and no result. Poor center of gravity model, poor engine power and good propeller only for quadcopter.
Please keep us updated, bought two of them yesterday :)

It looks tail heavy.
Nice mod!

this is scary i've been looking at loads of lidl glider conversions like yesterday. i feel left out too.
I'm loving my Lidl glider conversion. 1806 2700kv motor and on 3S it's both nice and fast and also super floaty!
Great honest and entertaining video, you’ve given me some good ideas for adapting my glider, cheers
there is Only one 'good idea' here. put a motor on the nose.

i cant stop replaying 2:30 hahaha
Cool! Let us l know when you get it fixed!

Nicely done Pawel. Unfortunately these are not available in Australia
They are in Kmart with all of the Same specs
I bought 2 today! Perfect timing with yout Video ;)
Hi Pawel, I did sth. similar with an old Playmobil glider. But 2 servos only. Was OK for the money :-) Greetz from Berlin!

It should work now, but only as a stabilization assist
What esc, prop, and battery do you use?
2:31 amazing execution of the catch
Thanks!
Beautiful job, Pawel! 😃
I would love to get one of those as well... But I saw a few at Banggood. I guess I'm going to have to try them. 😃
the BG ones might be smaller, bear in mid
@@FPVUniversity Yeah, that's exactly why I didn't get any yet. 😉

'well done' hardly you must not like your friend very much
Where did you supply the carbon fibre rods from? China also? Or Europe? :)
my local provider has them. And I think I saw those profiles some time ago in hobbyking europe as well
@@FPVUniversity thank you
Do you meassure CG correctly?
Honestly, glider behavior just like that..climb when open throttle..then close the throttle and gliding...

Great vid. Hilarious "oh shit" hahaha
very nice
Look at my profile - I made few conversion too, but donor was little bit smaller 480mm ws. Nice work, btw!
Your modded Plane Is very cool! Where did you get It from?

Looks like you had upthrust...not downthrust....The Antichrist...lol....It depends of course on the angle you cut the nose off....
Haha.. not you as well?!
of course, why not!
