- My R2 buttons were sticking on both controllers so here is how you can fix it easily without paying money. Do this at your own risk because you may cause more damage to your controller.

I'm really pissed off at Sony for making these defective controllers for the PS4. I never used to have these problems with my PS3 controller.
Ikr I can still use my PS3 controller from 2012 but after a few months with the PS4 I cant drive in GTA V and shoot in some games.
I agree my controller that came with the ps3 still works 😂

I bought metal trigger buttons from China $8 they came with springs, I swapped out the crappy plastic Sony buttons put 2x springs in each button now the controller is 100% way better 👍👍👍

Literally what I did this piece of shit pissed me off to the point i just started punching it and well it fixed itself
I was having trouble getting the controller apart. I watched 3 other videos which all jumped from removing the screws, to showing the insides of the controller. Thanks for not editing out the section I needed! Works great!

Why do the controllers even come with these springs if they still function fine without them?
Might as well save myself the time and take out the L2 spring while I'm at it so I won't have to do this twice later down the line.

This worked for me! I folded a small piece of paper into a square and placed it on top of the rubber piece and taped it.

Ok so, I opened up my DS4, (I knew what the problem was before opening it. The L2 button is on override) so I took a look, although without disconnecting the ribbon because I had to see if I took off the rubber it would stop, but unfortunately it didn't.
The problem lies on the blue film that's connected to the motherboard. (I don't know what you call the parts, I'm just a hrm student lol.)
Any suggestions?
the part which breaks off the triggers should generally be in your controller still, if you would like a better fix than this so called one then use some good super glue, patience and maybe a pair of tweezers would be handy (only glue the broken surfaces) to re attach the broken part and keep your spring and it will be 100% back to normal.
dan dandan I've tried the superglue, it doesn't last,best bet is to replace the part instead of fixing a broken part that will always have a weak point where it broke off.

The inside of my R2 button looks different than yours does. At 4:36 you had space under the plastic to slide the spring over. I don't have that space. Instead it is filled in with black plastic.
you probably have a Generation 2 DualShock 4 (the ones you get now if you buy a controller and the ones that come with the consoles nowadays.)

Like sometimes when im sprinting with my character on fortnite my player would just stop or move to the right a little bit and the screen goes up when im not even doing anything. It pisses me off and I miss alot of my shots

My left trigger was so loose that just resting a finger on it would press the bloody thing, I took it apart and put the spring back under the tiny little clip.....working great now :-)

Is there a way to replace or fix the 'X' button as well? I am on my third PS4 controller and it's always the R2 and 'X' buttons that seem to get a raw deal.

where do you have to put the Blue thing back on the controller???
First my battery went I pulled apart a old control switched battery but the plugs were different so I ripped them off and stuck the positive and negative wires in the holes with chewing gum THEN the charging port fucked out so I used the other on from the old control and again different parts so I had to use the whole back of the other control so now I have a half blue half black control now because it's different it doesn't fit as snug so the l2 and r2 get stuck and is way to sensitive so I just ripped them off and push the plastic bits works perfect and is ok once you get the hang of it no need to spend money still owning people like always
nada, this video doesn't work for ALL dual shock models...if you pay attention to the button the stick is long and the spring goes on with np, but the buttons on my sony ps4 controller R2/ L2 are smaller, which means the rods are smaller. so that's why you can fix it as quick with no problems....
most likely its a newer model that has been made after I posted this vid.
R.Jason Norman it might be to do with regional models, thr spring isnt supposed to attatch to the r2 button theres a little slot on the side and its really hard to get on
Why do my springs look different than everyone elses? I mustve checked a dozen videos by now and no one has the same springs as me.

Tyrol Naiker I found out that if the trigger has the suspension piece broken it will not work regardless. I took another trigger that wasn't fucked up from another controller and replaced it WITHOUT the spring. U can throw the springs away. Mine works fine now. Hope that helps

Bash your DS4 against the table (broken button first) not too hard and it should work like you just bought it

Weird I opened it and the springs were on the controller board and not on the button. So it’s not really the spring that’s the problem it’s the plastic buttons. I simply reattached the button and screwed it back on.
Btw, the button was detached by a 12 year old playing a fighting game. Sony, your quality control messed up.

What do you do when your triggers may be a little bit jammed in. I play Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and The Crew 2 + other trigger happy demanding games and my L2 and R2 seem to be sorta slightly jammed. Dm my psn Deathstroke29250 as a response because I don't get RUclips notifications.
