You'd be surprised how hard it seems for companies to make a good tennis game. Virtua tennis was always top notch

I think it's probably just a lack of demand, at least for ones with real people in them. Sega Superstars Tennis was the most recent I've played, and it was awesome.
Considering the history of tennis games goes back to Pong, you would think they'd be better at it.
Drink a Beer and Play a Game Hot shots tennis is also a great game.

I have Virtua Tennis 4 on Vita. It's great. I should have been playing them back when the Dreamcast was out, didn't know tennis games could be fun.
Oh my geez this is the best tennis game I've ever seen. This was back when sports games meant something and you could ask Madden to question and he tell you the answer!
My favorite tennis game of all time
I remember this as the last Dreamcast game reviewed by the game magazine I was subscribed to. After that it was all PS2-XBOX-Gamecube.

The Dreamcast and both Virtua Tennis games are epic. Always fire these up and such a banging music track too.
Aside from all the arcade soccer games, Virtua Tennis was a religion here in my region. People would get extremely, extremely competitive.

I remember playing Virtua Tennis 2009, the Gran Turismo 4 of tennis games.
But Gran Turismo 4 was really good? Virtua Tennis 3 was goddamn amazing though

In college I had a roommate who I had intense all nighter VT matches while stoned off our asses. Got so intense the neighbors called the cops on us. Guess she didn't like when I threw a shoe against the wall when I lost a match.
The only one that didn't come to PC, right? I remember playing one of the first two games in arcade, tho (don't remember which one). Was fun with a stick.
...I should buy VT4 for the Vita. I know it's not considered the best entry in the series, to say the least, but it's the only available on platforms I use. And I think it's not even expensive.
Had the 1st VT on Dreamcast, loved it but didn't play much due to liking other games. BUT... VT 2... I spent tons of hours on it! The career mode is awesome. However, I got this one on ps2 ^_^
Mario Tennis on the Virtual Boy was a lot like this. A better-than-average game (not just for tennis games) on a doomed console.

the pop-up of the background bushes it is kinda strange knowing that the dreamcast can run things like crazy taxi.

Virtua Tennis 3 was decent too. Enjoyed that a lot. Then 4 came out and they ruined the franchise. It felt very different to me :(
If the case is blue do that mean you need the Dreamcast with blue logo to play it or I. Could play it on my regular Dreamcast ???? Question
If the game and console are from different regions you will need a boot disc such as Codebreaker.
AO and Tennis Elbow doesn't hold a candle to this game

khav ll still a great system just sold poorly
even the old ass n64 was selling more than the dream in 2000ish, you know your console is a piece of crap when the ancient n64 outsell you!
khav ll there is a rather interesting theory that says that sega had less money than was required to get their returns on the investment for dreamcast, resulting in a situation akin to taking a cab but realizing halfway there that you won't have enough money to get to the gold pot in the end so you just give up altogether.
N64 had better games
khav ll The N64 was still fairly new in 2000 it was only 2 years older than Dreamcast it was just discontinued early (though not as early as Dreamcast lol) It’s common for a current gen system to outsell a new console the Mega Drive and SNES where outselling the PS1 for over a year and look 👀 what happened there.
