Codependents and narcissists are always drawn to each other. Narcissists need someone to admire them, bow down to them, put their needs first, give them what they want without question, and generally kiss their butts 24/7.
Codependents are only too happy to comply since they have a horror of abandonment, serious issues with boundaries, difficulty making decisions, and serious needs for approval recognition and validation. Codependents feel guilty and ashamed when they take care of THEMSELVES, and the narcissist loves to exploit that guilt.
Narcissists are the epitome of selfishness and make really poor partners in relationships where both partners are required to give selflessly to each other. Unfortunately, the majority of men demonstrate at least some narcissistic traits which single women must learn to recognize. Whether you opt to continue the relationship is your choice, but at least this way you'll understand what you're working with.
