Some songs needs some time to take in. I loved it at the first hearing though. But I know this will also be much better live, as Nightwish usually is. Video is just a video. There's a lots of symbolism and secret meanings but I don't mind to read it up, I only enjoy the music.
I guarantee you that Tuomas made this video to make us all feel uncomfortable! The more you listen to it, the better it gets! But it does make you think!

Do you really not understand what this video and song is about? A mirror is held up to us. You immediately get a hint the moment everyone is staring into his cell phone. Caught in a non-realistic world. As a result, people lose insight into the reality around them. Pollution is increasing, the earth is slowly warming up. Instead of worrying about looking around us and coming into contact with others, we allow ourselves to be guided by false interpretations that allow us to come through our smartphones. For example the drugs (Marco) The exaggerated environmental freak (Tuomas) The naive king (Troy,game of thrones theme) And Floor as over protective mother. In my opinion it is a very well thought out concept. Also the last shot that shows that we are so busy with our surreal world, that we are starting to lose sight of all the beauty that is left. Well, I can understand that this does not meet your expectations, but there is certainly a well thought out story behind it. It takes some time getting used to it, I can understand that. But you can also try to be a little open to the new path that Tuomas has been taken. I'd say give it a chance. I personally think it's a great song with depth.

I am not a big fan of "Élan" (though I like the melody of the verse) and prefer this one far more, so I was actually pleasantly surprised. No, but again, as a first single it appealed to me more than I had expected. Perhaps that's why you were so disappointed; because you set your expectations sky-high? The staccato vocals in "Noise" suits it quite well in my opinion, creating a driving intensity that the chaotic video matches well. I also loved the After Forever vibe in the choir near the end; perhaps Floor influenced Tuomas here?
