Door Cup PPF Trick - SUPER EASY

  • A common area to protect with PPF for any vehicle is that which is touched often... the door cup. A door cup is the area behind the door handle, which is prone to scratches from nails, rings, or simply just touching the paint when the car is dirty.
    I used STEK DYNOShield Paint Protection Film for this installation.

    Would a heat gun or steamer help if you, say, not stretch or pull it enough upon application?

    You cut that on a plotter...how much force and why not dry apply ?

    My technique is ONLY tack solution never slip. Slide it behind the door handle and start with both thumbs LIGHTLY tacking from the center outward, then with firmer pressure and you’ll get these down in no time. A little forehead grease let’s your thumbs slide across the film effortlessly. Door cups are a piece of cake, just takes practice.
