I am a huge fan of the Regular Bushmills, and the 10-year-old as well, I finally got a chance to get the Black bush and it blows all of the others out of the water. It is one of the few whiskies I will always have a spare on hand and if I could drink only 1, right now it would be the black bush. sadly, they show up in very limited amounts locally and I get what I can but it might be another year before I can get more. Frankly heartbreaking.
Tried this for the first time over the holidays. While grilling outdoors in cold weather, it was very crushable as a neat pour. Pleasant, easy drink in casual settings and great value. Definitely a crowd pleaser.
Very well done. I’m always looking for solid budget drams. I appreciate your counsel and observations. I’ve got to venture into Irish now. This will be somewhat new for me having had only Scotches for decades. God bless you.
First whisky i actually picked up. I really have to go back to it and also back to some more irish blends! Jameson Crested and Black barrel are good ones by the way.
I’m sure that you’re probably already aware that Bushmills also features a single malt core range of 10, 16 and 21yo which are all sherried (especially the 16). I recently picked up a bottle of the 10 as it was a great value at $45usd. Overall it was a decent single malt for its price point. It has a wonderful nose but the palate suffers from some bright youthfulness. Additionally, the sherry doesn’t really shine through compared to the Black Bush. The 16 and 21 are a bit harder to find and are even harder on the wallet at ~$100 & $200+ respectively. I would be interested to hear what you think of their single malts.
I've heard really good things about the 16. My issue is that it's expensive and has a 40% abv, which kind of puts me off it. I suppose I should get around to trying it one of these days.
was on a camping holiday ..did fancy something acceptable to have neat in the tent but nothing fancy to "analyse" ...£12.50 for 35cl tesco clubcard deal... super pleased
The only way I can drink it is with a few drops of Ardbeg added to it that turns it into a smoky cough drop instead of a plain lemon cough drop. I have tried a few Irish whiskeys and most taste similar to a lemon cough drop. I'll stick to Scotch or Bourbon!
i drink single malt mostly, but recently have tried Dewar's 27 Double Double, it's very beautiful with a lot of potpourri note, taste not that "blend" but surprisingly elegant. bit pricey but definitely cheaper than almost 25yo single malt.

Agree. Simple, straight-forward, and easy-to-like! 🥃
Loving the reviews, love that new intro, pure class. Keep up the excellent work!
Very kind words of encouragement. Thanks!
I think it's exceptionally smooth. It's really one of my all time favorite whiskies.

I'm pretty new to Irish, too. They're great stuff! I recommend the Redbreast line. 😊
@@Gwhisky indeed. I’ve got Red Breast cask strength in my collection.
I was given this by the land lord on a Dublin trip (yes given). I was a Laphroaig drinker.... no more. Great review.

I'll keep that in mind. Haven't tried either. Thanks!
Crested - exceptionally good!
@@Gwhisky I picked up a black bush again. Man that is just a well done blended whisky. Really budget banger in my opinion. Cheers buddy
I just had some Bushmills black tonight. My friend and I were talking about what a good tasting whiskey it is

It's pretty good!
Love the savory taste of Black Bush! Great review
Thanks. It's good stuff!
Great, surprisingly strong, Sherry, fruity sweet flavour.
One of my favourite whiskey from Ireland good price and balance for him, do you have any reviews for the 10 version or older, thanks
No unfortunately this is the only Bushmills I've reviewed so far. Glad you enjoy it. Good stuff!
I'm pretty sure the grain whiskey in Bushmills blends comes from the Middleton Distillery down near Cork!
Thanks for the info, Katherine!
Also, I’d like to see reviews of Tullibardine’s The Murray line of Scotches if you have access and interest. Thanks!
I haven't seen that line available in Taiwan. I'll keep it in mind if they ever show up in the shops here. 😊

Remember bush mills
Value king
I prefer glen moray sherry cask for a cheap N nice
Haven't tried it in ages!
@@Gwhisky it’s the third cheapest single malt I can buy, basic, little sherry, little malt, little burn lol

I've seen them at the shop. I love the new look and they seem to be quite popular these days. Haven't had the chance to try one yet, though.
diamond shape bottle is quite cool, though just 500ml😂
Gooseberries? Where TF can I taste gooseberries?
Wherever they grow? Pretty normal where I grew up.
