I just found a 1985-P QUARTER mint error that I've never seen before. I wished the comments would let us unload pics because this one is crazy. No end ridges and the obverse is flat.
You don’t know your coins. That’s the problem. You think you have a “valuable” coin and list it. Then knowledgeable collectors examine it and quickly realize there is nothing special about the coin you listed and that you have misattributed it. Thus no bids. There are no shortcuts in the rare coin world. You have to send years reading coin books and studying rare coin specimens. All numismatists spend their entire lives studying and learning. In this hobby, knowledge is power.
That’s because the coins you listed are most likely common and are not the scarce and rare errors and die varieties that this channel talks about. Amateurs tend to misidentify common coins as being rare or scarce varieties when they are not. This is just lack of knowledge and skill in attributing and grading. Keep practicing. When you find the “real deal” they will sell.
A suggestion for this channel: Do a video recommending a good selection of reference books on grading, cherry picking, fundamentals of coin collecting, etc. Too many of the viewers seem to have a “get rich quick” mentality and do not comprehend numismatics at all. Their lack of education and basic coin collecting knowledge causes immense frustration to these folks. I feel sorry for them. They are so clueless…
I'm in Michigan. I've been getting rolls and boxes of lincoln cents from my bank all year. I STILL haven't found a 2023 cent. Not one! I've asked for them, but nothing around.
