Beef dripping chips are simply the best. I've had an air-fryer for about 10 years and it's the best thing I've bought for the kitchen! Well done for the weight loss Rick. You're looking great as always. 🙂
Hi Rick just to say if you put your wast dripping in to a plastic cup like out of the tea machine put some nuts in with it and feed the wild birds with it Regards Len
What - you didn't even show us the finished chips. But that gives me a good excuse to go off and make some of my own ;) Anyway great to see you vlogging again more regularly Rick. ATB
Just curious Rick, what make and model is your air frier? Been thinking of getting one of these, would they reheat chip do you think? Had a Chippy meal at dinnertime today just figuring out the best way to reheat half a fish and half a portion of chips?
Also great tee there Rick, really like that mate where did you get it from? Back on the air fryers - you know you can cook books for these right? I got one free with my Philips model and there's tons of great recipies in it, very health too. Atb
Personally I'm loving the tartan curtain material :) If I knew you could lose weight by eating lard fried chips I would have started earlier. Might have to save up for one of those air fryers! Cheers Rick. Jazz.
You can buy the airfrier at walmart and you can get the beef drippin on amazon, just go on amazon and type in: Beef Tallow, Grass-Fed, Kettle Rendered and Fine Filtered, 14oz
I did something similar a number of years ago and it was a bit full-on to be honest. I hold myself accountable to my niece, we have a weigh-in every Friday morning and just encourage each other.
I hope you've got an eye on your beer and alcohol consumption too Rick, ( If you do drink that is ). Its loaded with calories, indeed, after animal fats its the worst one for it, although a lot of people forget or aren't aware of the fact, ( the proverbial beer gut )!!!
I don't think acrylamide has anything to do with the fat or oil, it's the heating starches at high temperature that creates it. So best not overdo the fried potatoes or toast
Thats how chips are done best, the old fashioned original way.....lard or beef dripping.....Deadly but it kills you with pleasure.....nothing like chips and egg done in an old fashioned chip pan with lard/dripping...none of these deep fat fryers, they steam them to much.....lard/dripping gives them that real chip taste beautifull,, throw in an egg leave it till it commes to the top, do not bust the yolk....and you will discover an whole new taste to an egg...TRUE.....it an whole new very deep tasteing yolk beutifull dipped with chips on slice of bread.....simlist working cllass meal that there ever was. but it fed us many a poor week...and was welcomed and cherrished i might add........sluuuurrrrpp drewwel gawd gone an made meself hungry now Rick....man you are putting me weight on with all these food vids......now add deep fryed spam to the chips annd egg and you have got a meal fit for a king.....bread n best butter...yea,,,,nice cuppa char whhhoooooo man.. i gotto go...lol....dinner is calling
The only reason I remember what a stone is in pounds is because I weighed 14 stone when I learned this fact. I wish I weighed 14 stone now. Congrats on losing a stone.
Hi rick when I cook chips it's always use beef dripping. Now there saying veg oil is bad for you. Bloody hell what next. My grandad is 93. And ate fatty foods. And is going strong. I think more environment then food. Chernobyl Fukushima. Ect.
Proper chips.... always better in beef dripping, but it don't half smell ..My theory is the current generation of octogenarians survived on itso it's good enough for me!. enjoy
Only if I don't slip back into my old habits. As I get older, I'm finding that more permanent lifestyle changes are getting easier, because I'm constantly reminded by my aching and painful body if I start doing the wrong things :-)
Lift some weight please sir. You sound too nice to struggle with your weight hahaha. Strength train. As you get older weight bearing exercises are very important for strong bone and huge on weight loss. Running or walking and cutting calories are vital in addition to strength training so you don't lose the structure integrity of your muscle due to atrophy of the muscle fibers related to aging for old folks like us. Well good luck mate on your quest, God bless and Cool Runnings.

Oh man fish and chips are some of the best things about England. Good Grief I'm going to be dreaming, about how good they taste, for a week!
Nice video, as always. Thanks Rick! :)
Very tasty indeed, these are a treat for me in beef dripping. lovely.
The chemical from oil you mentioned might be Acrylamide, Rick. Dripping is perfect for cooking chips.
Proper chips! Yum. 😋
Wow that sounds blinking yummy. ;-)
Love the curtains..and you could make a wee kilt with any left over material ;P

Just curious Rick, what make and model is your air frier? Been thinking of getting one of these, would they reheat chip do you think?
Had a Chippy meal at dinnertime today just figuring out the best way to reheat half a fish and half a portion of chips?
It's a Tefal Actifry. Although I've never attempted reheating anything in it, I'm pretty sure it would make a good job of reheating chips. :-)
Chips nice :-)Great curtains by the way.
The Chips looked very nice Rick and the eggs! - How Eggsiting! :o)
Oh dear, I've missed the bit about the chips! When was it?
What air fryer was it?
Nice going on the weight loss. Are you going to make the curtains yourself?
Keep up the good work 👏🏻
Air fryers are superb! :)
Also great tee there Rick, really like that mate where did you get it from? Back on the air fryers - you know you can cook books for these right? I got one free with my Philips model and there's tons of great recipies in it, very health too. Atb

Have you tried dripping on hot toast yet ? ....mmm !
Have you thought about my idea of having a weekly weigh in on youtube to motivate yourself?
I did something similar a number of years ago and it was a bit full-on to be honest.
I hold myself accountable to my niece, we have a weigh-in every Friday morning and just encourage each other.

Well! Not quite a Stuart Tartan but it will do :)
I don't think acrylamide has anything to do with the fat or oil, it's the heating starches at high temperature that creates it. So best not overdo the fried potatoes or toast
