He was in a tough spot..Mathi REALLY wasn't feeling it, but for a grand finals match that thousands of people were expecting to watch live, he thought it would be a better idea to tough it out instead of FF so people can have a match to watch at the very least. The thought process was that it's disrespectful to FF out of not wanting to play and everyone would get pissed..But everyone got pissed anyways and he got banned (even tho he had some decent scores that match 😭😭)
What actually happened that time? Does osu! staff seriously expect all players to be playing at near 100% of their potential at all times during tourneys? He also set decent scores as you said.
He’s also been hated on for his global number 1, man can’t catch a break.

@@arynosu It has been 2 days since I posted my reply here, I'd like to ask your take on the situation considering many people say that he threw Coffee Hispanic, Corsace Close and Nik's Winter Cup. After seeing the matches myself, I really don't know whether I should defend him anymore, I kinda regret the reply I made above. Of course, I believe it was a little bit harsh, but he definitely deserved to get some form of punishment from his performance. There is a reason you can forfeit in matches, and the backlash would always be there, but it definitely wouldn't lead to the situation that pushed him into the ban (and the backlash would be lesser). All the prep that his opponents put in to the pools kinda turned into dust. Not sure how to feel about this. Once, is happenstance. Twice, is coincidence. Three times, is enemy action.
It definitely isn't a black or white situation, but it sure as hell feels like it's falling to one end without enough context.
