I remember George Kerr winning the silver medal in the 800 at the 1966 Commonwealth games in Jamaica. Let's not forget that Arthur Wint not only won the 400 in the 1948 Olympics but he also won the silver medal in the 800 at those same Olympics. So that's how long ago Jamaica had been a powerhouse in the 800🙏

Newman was quite good in the 70s too. In fact, he held the Jamaica for all those years, until broken last year I think.
