I'm proud to be first generation Canadian of English parents. My mother was born in London Hospital in 1907, my father Birkenhead in 1919, both now spinning like a lathe on steriods. How lovely to see the flag responsible for building my once great nation, fly it high and proud.

Hi Jim. Just a small point of order. Can I argue that you cannot be "proud" to be English. (OMG, WTF...) It's like saying I'm proud that I have dark hair. The fact is that I was born here. Yes, I'm English. I haven't 'achieved' being English. But instead, I am proud of what England has achieved in the past. Here's another point of pedantry: I dislike homosexuality. But I am not Homophobic. Having a "Phobia" means you're scared of something. A bit like spiders, snakes etc. I'm definitely scared of snakes. But I'm not scared of gay people. Heaven knows I've worked with enough gay people in theatres everywhere. But my problem is visualising what gays actually do! Two men getting it together makes me want to vomit nails. (I don't want to now that side of things. But I'm not scared of them. So next time a person accuses anybody of being "Homophobic" I will accuse back at them being illiterate and not knowing much about the English Language. Thanks Jim. Love the show.
