at those times were more different cars in the race, fwd and rwd types, all of them closer to the cars you could by next day at a dealer. By the way, for me, got my driver license in 1970 and was in my first years of employment with Ford the Escort MK1 dogbone was an ugly, cheapy car, in his concept not very modern. I was an I am up to now not a „friend“ of the „Coke bottle“ sideshape if it is too much, extrem on the british Cortina 72, not so much on the German Taunus. Only the MK1 RS 2000 in white with the blue stripes looks sportive and I drove later in 77 the RS 2000 rubber Nose type from the MK2 Escort. The clear look of the BMW or the Opel Ascona was and is the design I prefer. Later present on the Taunus 76 and Granada MK2, the first Fiesta. An the best designed Ford ever over these 50 years the Capri MK1. Today now about 50 years later I look on these old Escort dogbone MK1 with other eyes. may it is nostalgie.
Fantastic footage. So neat to not only see the cars but the faces of the crowd, drivers, mechanics, etc. Very well edited.
was 17 yrs old in 1972, remember this well, when cars were repaired on side of road and drivers mucked in as well great time
Wonderful footage, showing the full range of participants.. so much better than some rally videos, which just show the top ten
Yep. Variety has been removed from the rally dictionary..
very well edited time document, impressive drift angles and original sounds, superb!

I’m surprised Datsun only sent the 240Z and not the 510 given all of the small bore 4 cylinder rwd’s there.
Excellent film made even better without an over-excited commentator's voice.
