My phone had problems with the Bluetooth, WiFi and accurate GPS locations since when I bought it second hand, followed the tutorial slowly and now everything works!, thanks so much for the video
This video is amazing, so detailed and guided me all the way. After the new antenna is put in, my Bluetooth range is back to normal, can talk to my health watch at least ten feet away. Before the repair the distance was only 2 inches! I was about to return the watch to Amazon thinking it is a bad one but it is NOT the watch. Thank you!
Project finished. The pentalobe screwdriver had to be acquired, so I got a whole iPhone repair tool kit, which was very nice. The only problem I had was the long screw in the upper right of the big bracket in the upper right. Getting that to take hold correctly required some messing about with the cable attachments underneath. Seems like maybe those can get a little bent from being pulled off. No screws left over! The phone seemed a little confused at first upon restarting, but was fine in about 2-3 minutes. Thanks for the detailed video!
Thank you so much for the detailed video and great tips! I successfully replaced the antenna and my GPS works just fine now! The whole process costed me $10 and 20 minutes of my time. The trickiest part was staying organized. So to whoever wants to do this, I advice you to take your time and make sure you mark every single screw you take off. It will make your life much easier putting everything back together.
Great video! Had no GPS service and weak WiFi reception on my iPhone 6. Followed the instructions carefully, went slowly and labeled everything as shown. Worked like a charm. Just take your time. Back to five bars on GPS and I can use maps and other location services again!
Thank you for this. Changed the antenna in 30 min. Wifi, bluetooth & GPS is working perfectly. Lost one screw in the process but have ordered replacement. Phone is working fine without the one screw though. KEEP TRACK OF THE SCREWS AND ORGANISE. Be gentle and increase the force used on the work in steps.
This video is excellent. The guy does a great job explaining what he is doing and unlike me has a very steady hand. The one thing I would note is that when I restarted, it did not work. For some reason, it took 10 min or so before things started coming in right. This was also true for apps like WASE. As others have stated, you need to stay organized because not all the tiny screws are the same. This saved me from having to buy a new phone. YEA!!!!!
It worked! My bluetooth and GPS haven’t been working properly for over a month. The problem came from out of nowhere. At first I tried opening the phone and putting a piece of electrical tape over the copper rectangle on the antenna. That didn’t work at first, but I took my phone into the sauna with me a day or two after the attempted repair and for some reason the GPS and bluetooth worked perfectly for two days after that. The issues returned so I ordered an antenna and did this tutorial. Everything seems to be working perfectly with the new antenna. I just put it in, so hopefully it stays that way. When I was putting my phone back together, I couldn’t fit in the upper right screw on the screen bracket. The phone seems to be working fine without it though, so not a huge deal.
Great video, helped me replace wifi antenna on my wife's iPhone - it would connect only to 5ghz wifi, not 2.4ghz - I have a combination of routers to get signal around the whole house. When I removed old antenna and compared, I could clearly see 3 out of the 4 connectors were busted on it (not sure how... but it was submerged in water at one point). Now connecting seamlessly to all routers in the house and has signal 100% of the time. Cheers!
Excellent video. Magnetic project pad is a must. Also, get a good set of screwdrivers. The plastic-handled ones that come with some kits are cheapies. Besides, most kits do not include a miniature flat screwdriver, which you will need for the "double screw." I experienced one phillips screw that was over tightened; rather than risk reaming out the head, I used a flat blade driver to gently ease it loose. Finally, I found that reconnecting the cell antenna connector required extra care due to the cramped area.
Thank you for this video. This fixed my bluetooth/2.4Ghz wifi/gps having barely no connectivity at all. I could only connect to 5Ghz wifi before replacing this part. I also replaced the 5Ghz wifi antenna while I was doing this because may as well while the phone is all in pieces. REMINDER FOR ANYONE ATTEMPTING THIS, make sure you put the screws in their designated spots, if you messed up their order find an ifixit guide with the screw lengths included so you can put the right screws in their designated spot. ALSO be very gentle when reconnecting the screen because if you bend the pins on the motherboard that can't be fixed without buying a new phone.
Thank you for this video it was so great I fixed my daughter’s WiFi signal it was death now it’s full signal the WiFi antenna was broken I’m so thankful ❤️
Excellent video !! Perfectly explained with real good advises. It helps me a lot and I could fix the wifi, GPS and bluetooth of my Iphone 6. Thanks million !
Works well thanks. IP6 had a very weak wifi signal next to the hub. No signal just a few metres away. Cost of part was £3, followed exactly and it took me around 1h30mins. Now have full strength signal pretty much everywhere in the house. One thing though - although the phone is back together and aligned fine it feels (and sounds) like the screen has a little movement/flexibility when pressed. Not sure where this has come from exactly as it slotted together fine and the 2 base screws are in. All clamps in place internally.
Just an advice to anyone who is doing this by him/her self before disconnecting the screen always but always disconnect the battery first so you don’t fry anything in your phone. Once i forgot to do it and i messed up my screen even though the phone was off. I hope i helped and good video 👍🏼
Just replaced this antenna. It had snapped on the long part of it and the coax connector next to it fell off. Installed a replacement and it's back to normal :)
A problem I’ve just had with mine 6 months after replacing is that the antenna did the same thing as in not working. When opened up to replace again I found that the connection part (gold circle) actually on the main circuitry had broken and was now attached to the antenna part so if I replaced the antenna I’d be stuck with the same problem. I had some 2 part epoxy resin so I pinched the antenna to the other board really tight and put epoxy in around the two boards to hold them together. Hold it there for 5 minutes and don’t let it separate. 1 day in and its held. The alternative was a new motherboard ( the L shaped thing) Full WiFi and Bluetooth and gps working fine.
Hey, saved an iPhone I thought was out of commission. TIME SAVING TIP: Some screws are different and keeping track is VERY important. I did it but, it took me a while.
My iphone 6 is into weird problem. Wifi 2.4 Ghz range is too low whereas 5 Ghz is working usual. Bluetooth and GPS acting up, like if I even turn around my head with Bluetooth headphones On, it disconnects :D . I think all this started once my phone slipped from my hand and dropped. No visible damage or scratches though. I have replaced the antenna as per video but unfortunately issue still same. Thanks for help video.
THANK YOU PAL .... New phone - hundreds of pounds. New antenna - £2 - and some cursing and swearing. Looks far worse than it is, but lay the screws out exactly as he does using a drawing (I also used upturned sticky tape so as not to lose them), and be methodical, pausing the video to double check everything you’ve done before moving on. Only criticism is his hand moves fast and he doesn’t hold the phone close enough to the camera after each stage and take a pause for you to check. Other-than-that, failsafe!! THANKYOU iSMART.
I would not recommend sticky tape. Tape does not lend itself to arranging the screws like they came from the phone. And those tiny screws would be hard to find if they fell off while trying to remove from the tape. A magnetic project pad is a must.
Brother I hope you reply as soon as you can , my problem it looks same , but my phone can find my wifi but I need to be 1 meter only, also the Bluetooth i have to be 50 Cm or less to connect, is my problem the antenna or something else? What do you think?
Hey man that's a really good video but i have a big problem. While i'm trying to replace the new flex cable to the logic board, guess what i did? I broke one of coax connectors on the logic board and i'm still having bad signal from my wifi. I mean i can't connect one of 4 connectors of flex cable to logic board. I hope you understand, sorry for my english btw :)
Thanks for the video ! Wifi and gps works but my button wolume doesn't work to go up (down-low is working) and I can't hear people when they call me. Any idea to solve it ? Before repair my iphone, it was working
Aaron Clarke. Nope, it fixes only Bluetooth and WiFi. The part for the signal/no service is the charging port ( make sure you replace it with the original part)
My iPhone 6 doesn’t recognise networks and says incorrect password when I clearly enter the correct password. Also when I move from the modem the network instantly drops
I have the no service/searching issue at times and when i leave my house instead of my WiFi saying LTE, it says 1x ... what replacement should i get ? WiFi antenna or cellular antenna ??
There's a coax cable coming from the charging port and connected to the motherboard next to the battery connector area..make sure is connected perfectly or replace the charging port completely with an OEM part.
yes , i think so, if your issue is not related to other things like software or water damage ... here's a link for the right part on ebay www.ebay.com/itm/For-iPhone-6-7-Wifi-Wireless-Antenna-Module-Bluetooth-Flex-Cable-Ribbon-Part-/142536558651?var=&hash=item212fd7483b:m:mOA1nyuvgVc8gmSb1xE3hog note: this part is from china, if you want you can find it somewhere closer to your location.
Will this fix my phone, all my internet connection has 1 bar. Only when i stay within 1 meter's of my router i get 2 to 3 bars but further than that il get 1 bar
i bought an iphone 6s plus and when i tried to connect it to my wifi network it says the password is incorrect( i know it s correct) and i tried other wifi networks with correct password and i have tried many ways the same results do you know anyway or any thing i can do to fix it ? thank youu
LR frost , go to settings then general then scroll all the way down and hit reset then select reset network settings and wait until the phone restarts and test it.
I have a question sir. Is the wifi anthena of iPhone 6 plus is the same of the anthena of iPhone 5? I hope my question will be answer. Keep it up! God bless.
What’s hilarious is that Apple denied this to being a known problem with the 6. They wanted £297, eBay £2.50 inc postage. Want me to buy a new phone much?
The cable is easy to replace if you have the part as you see in the video. Sometimes you may need just to reconnect the cable because it disconnects if you drop the phone.
there is nothing on an iPhone that requires a flathead screwdriver. if you aren't gonna use the proper tools, then you shouldn't be doing the repairs. you need a p2 pentalobe and phillips j000 and thats all the screw drivers you need. youre gonna need a plastic spudger as well...

Yes. I had five screws left over after it was all put together. lol it is working so I guess they weren't that important.
Great video! Had no GPS service and weak WiFi reception on my iPhone 6. Followed the instructions carefully, went slowly and labeled everything as shown. Worked like a charm. Just take your time. Back to five bars on GPS and I can use maps and other location services again!
