Honestly I have such a good routine already, it takes something very novel for me to want to add it to my routine. But this Kombucha essence is realllyyyyy calling me
Has anyone noticed that a good number of korean skincare brands that took the world by storm has some kind of medical term or notion behind them? Dr Jart, Dr G, Dr Different, Dr Ceuracle, CosRX (RX meaning prescription), Dr Olga, Dr Goodal, Pyunkang Yul (literally developed by a traditional korean medicine clinic), Beauty of Joseon, History of Who, Sulwhasoo, etc are based on traditional korean medicinal knowledge with the history of who and sulhwasoo specifically focusinf on red ginseng (history of who was literally funded by the government in regards to research from what I can recall).
I do agree! I kind of suspect it’s that traditional medicine is more rooted into Eastern culture than it is in the west? Difficult for me to say for certain, but it is interesting ☺️
I have the essence, the moisturizer, and the lip balm and they’re all definite repurchases for me. I love a multi step routine most days; but if I can’t don’t that for some reason I always fall back to using just the essence and moisturizer. I feel like the ingredients are so great that I’m still getting a full routines worth of benefits. I use them in full routines too but they are a great duo for a quick routine. I love body polishes too and now I’ve got to try this one too!
That’s a good point - I think that because they are so multifunctional, they really can shorten a routine…if desired! Am with you on enjoying the multi steps myself (most days indeed!)
I have had the essence for a while but have just recently started using it every night and ah I love it. It's been particularly great as I've added a couple of additional arguably drying products to combat my (likely menopause related) acne "surge." We are NOT ready for the holidays. We are getting a NAMED winter storm. We have taken advantage of a weather waiver from delta to change our (likely to be canceled and unsafe to get to anyway) Saturday flight to a Sunday flight. We're supposed to be off to the Bay Area to see family. And we need to do some more shopping.
It is SO wonderful for combatting dryness. I had moved away from salicylic acid for a while (as it wasn’t going super great with adapalene - even on completely different days!) I upped my usage of this essence and the Laneige cream skin and have now been able to add it back in!! Feels like an accomplishment lol. Oh wow, so sorry to hear! Definitely do stay safe!! I’m sure that’s not a fun situation to deal with given the already ever-looming holiday stress. Sending good vibes!! 💕
@AliceintheRabbitHole Thank you! I am definitely hoping this turns out to be a much smaller deal than the current forecasts. At least now the nail-biting over the flight is just off the table.
Like you, I recently received a free full-size sample of this from, what was it, YesStyle? I can't remember. Anyway, I tried using it first like I do with most other toner/essence products, but quickly discovered that it works best for me as a final layer before moisturizer.
The necessaire fragrance free body scrub is my absolute favourite. It’s $28 and honestly I have never ever had skin as smooth . It’s chemical and physical Exfoliator . You haveee to try it!!!!!!
I like kombucha but I'm pretty selective, has to toe the line on the vinegar-yness lol! And I've been eyeing that gel cream for so long, I just don't understand why they have rosemary oil in that one specifically ☹️ I would like to try the essence but I'd need to wait until I can use up my other hydrating toner, sigh. I need another face 😆
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I love Kevita! But I usually go for Grapefruit or Raspberry lemon, and I don't remember if I've tried the cherry. I'll have to get that one next time!
I 💜 kombucha. I agree, the microbiome of the skin is still being discovered. It’s a wonderful idea to focus on the body’s largest organ and be supportive of it’s unique balance. I have experimented with coffee scrubs and agree that it requires a certain level of acceptance of coffee grounds in the shower, but maybe it also physically exfoliates the shower. 🤔😂
Do you have any specific kombucha brand recommendations (for drinks?) I love the humm brand, the peach tea in particular. I struggle a bit with how some taste mostly like vinegar lol. But I love the benefits and I think it's worth hunting down good flavors.
@@gwendolinehall1386 I almost mentioned my new favorite flavor from GT’s Synergy. (which is my favorite kombucha brand) Peach Paradise is my jam! 🍑 I have been so happy to discover that Korean & Japanese skincare tends to have peach extract included it’s ingredients list. Definitely going to continue exploring their formulas and products.
Wonderful video and ingredient!!! I’m almost done with my kombucha Essence, have been using it like you do after water based serums and loving it! That Camilla sinensis plant has kept me looking and feeling like a healthy human almost single-handedly for so long without fail!!
Yup true. I wouldn’t be too surprised if we do have a refrigerated section in Sephulta someday, but I think getting the ball rolling on that will be tricky.
I definitely think it would “work”, but I don’t personally think it would be enough entirely on its own. I’m hoping the brand comes out with a rich cream!
Hi 🥰 oh i needed that today your videos makes me feel happy and relaxed i'm so happy to see a new video notification from you!! Have a very merry christmas 😻🎄❤❤
I think you could do either! In the Lancer method, you’d do a scrub then a cleanser (which I personally do like the results of - seems to really soften skin), but HONESTLY…it’s usually either/or for me. My skincare routine takes up too much time, I can’t be scrubbing the rest of me forever in the shower 🤣
Which version of the Grinch does your sweetie like ? I watched the 2018 animated one with Benedict Cumberbatch for the 1st time a few weeks ago and OMG it's such a cute movie 🎬 My 2 yr old loves it ❤️ I just got the essence ( haven't tried it yet ) but it came with a sample of the gel cream, I can't wait to try both. I haven't found a good gel cream. Their either too sticky/tacky, oily or pills.
Ok so I tried to get an answer and got a long explanation of the differences in the movies (🤣). I’m going to answer for her that I think it’s the 2000 version. Granted that’s my favorite as I always find myself watching it for the makeup. The makeup artists must have had an absolute blast on that film! But yes the new one is cute as well ☺️
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Jim Carey said it was absolutely miserable to be the Grinch. The contact lenses were painful plus I'm sure it took hrs to become the Grinch. But he said he did it for the kids 🥰 That one was my favorite but after watching the 2018 version it's now 2nd.
Team "I don't like the taste"... although in all fairness I don't like the taste of any tea unless it's herbal. Its great in skincare though and the essence is one of my all time favorites. Candidly I was so disappointed by the Laneige after all its hype, and this is what I'd been looking for, though I'm also the type who uses oil plus a moisturizer at night because I don't like the feel of thicker moisturizers unless I'm having a at least slight barrier issues. You do make the other products sound appealing so maybe a year from now when I order more I'll give the set a try. When it comes to use of "glow" as a marketing term, this was one of the things that gave me issues before I knew ingredients. So many exfoliators talk about glow, while I prefer the type of glow products like this give.
The cream skin refiner? I like that one, but I also feel like it was REALLY overhyped for a while without enough explanation. Mine sat for such a long time before I discovered to use it after serums lol Gosh yes that phrase feels like it can mean anything, depending on the product in question!
that was so cute, your re-enactment of your scrub-offering offering to your sweetie lol I really want to try the essence and moisturiser in this set! I'm really into probiotics atm, even wrote a "skincare predictions" post a while back on my blog where I said probiotics and ceramides, as well as low level actives, will be more abundant in the future
Kombucha is supposed to be very good for you. One of my son's loves it...guess I need to start drinking it too. Never thought of it as a skin care product. Is this anti-fungal as well?
I've never tried kombucha though this sound like a nice set, even the scrub (better than making your own and definitely less messy). My brother has made his own kombucha (don't know if he still does though). I love the Grinch (the cartoon).
Ok so this is my query; kombucha is fermented, so is kombucha skincare and fermented skincare the same thing? Is there different benefits to using kombucha products vs fermented. My critical thinking brain speculates that there is different benefits in the same way that SKII differs from other fermented products due to their own formulation. I’ve been really wanting to pick up this one in particular to try before my retin a, as it’s calming and moisturizing. I find I reeeaaally need more moisture the nights I try to incorporate retin a but heavy creams tend to clog my pores and break me out. It’s been a vicious cycle 😂 love your content as usual Alice 🖤
Fermented products most likely have TONS of variations. We are typically only told the genus (ie saccharomyces) vs the species/strains, the process of fermentation can vary, even the percentage doesn’t really tell us much about the concentration. I think it’s an entire new world to us tbh, but I’m so excited for more research and development into the topic!
I am back to making my own kombucha after taking a few years off. I wish I could figure out how to use it on my skin, but I'm definitely not using it straight as a toner. 🔥 Best to leave it to the experts! But I very much root for fermented anything. Homemade ginger beer? Marvelous. I wish we lived in a biome good for sourdough!
