Hello hi! So glad you're here to hang out with me for this vloggy weekend! I'm particularly interested in what you think of our living room rearrange so please weigh in!
If u need two chairs why not use the floral chairs for the dining table? It would open space in the living room and might be interesting. Get the table runner to match, make it look intentional. Just an idea. Anyway, loved the vlog style hope you keep them in rotation 👍
I definitely loved it, Erica! Your content just keeps getting better. The way that you talk about being uninspired sometimes, even though you work with food is so comforting because we get to see that this is such a normal thing to happen and it’s ok if it does! You are inspiring!
ahhh THIS IS SO NICE!!!!! I'm working hard at improving and learning but it's all a process and it's so nice to hear you see improvement. And YES getting tired of cooking is just the reality! Happens to everyone :)
Nope. You don’t need 2 more chairs… looks great the way it is. If you need you can always use your living room chairs for the heads of the table, for a more formal look.❤️👌🏻
Very late to the party, but I wanted to say that I've been watching your channel for a while, and I really like and appreciate these types of videos from you. I like your thoughtful approach to making sure you set yourself up for success throughout the week, but you also give yourself room to be a person. Thank you for sharing this. It is really a comforting type of video for me to watch and gives me motivation to do the self-care that it takes to make my own life easier. I would love to see more!
Hi ! Moving the furniture around really changed the feel of the room. The living room looks more inviting and more spacious. Love how much natural light you get from the Windows. The cauliflower looks amazing . Rancho Gordo beans are amazing, a little bit of California in your cupboards. They have an online store that sells more varieties of Heirloom beans. It’s a staple in my pantry. It was fun to tag along on your weekend, thanks for sharing via the vlog.
I really like where we landed...been living with it for a few days now and it's been good!! And I totally agree about the beans, Caroline whom I mentioned in the video has the subscription but sometimes can't keep up with it so we get to benefit! So lucky!
Hi erica! I LOVE the vlog style. I myself am a culinary student at the moment. Seeing you timeline and mise en place everything is SO relatable to me at the moment. And you’re right, it all becomes second nature to multitask in the kitchen at home.. the timelines are drilled into us at school. I look forward to watching more of your food journeys!
great hangover cure: chop (or grate, with your technique ;) ) ginger and boil it for a good while, it's very soothing in case of nausea (but spicy)! also, you're a youtube natural! very nice to follow you around, nice editing and nice music :)
heheheh I'm going to tuck this one away in my back pocket for next time I have a little too much fun! And thank youuuuu I'm still teaching myself editing so this is WONDERFUL to hear.
"I feel ten times better now the kitchen is deep cleaned..... i'm just going to dirty it again though" GUILTY AS CHARGED. I'm so glad I'm not the only one that does this ahahah
Okay I feel like I remember seeing you do this on your channel? Or maybe I saw you visit the Calbee store? I've been rewatching your older vlogs lately to sooth my Tokyo nostalgia🤗 I miss it!
So good! Love seeing a chill weekend, but you still did a lot actually haha. My chill weekend just looks like me being a couch potato but I want to be better about going for walks and meal prepping. Thanks for sharing, this was really nice to watch.
Hahahaha okay yes I definitely have a lot of weekends like that too but...ya know...that probably wouldn't be that interesting for you to see :D That said, I really like Alia Zaita's content and lately a lot of it has just been her hanging and studying and...that's really soothing hehehehe
I love your channel and love this vlog!! When I am sick and tired of cooking or thinking of menu, I watch your videos to get inspired🥰 I am originally from Japan (now living in CA) so I got excited seeing you and your sister enjoying Japanese food. BYW, you were correct in saying tonkotsu (with an o for ko) to be pork broth. Tonkastu (with an a for ka) is pork cutlet. Thank you again for this wonderful channel!!
Hiiii Sachiko! Yayyyy I'm so glad you enjoyed this. Julia and I miss Japan so much, I actually went back in 2019 for my honeymoon and am hoping to go back in the spring of 2022 if travel restrictions are lifted and if it feels safe for the community there...and thank you for correcting my very rusty Japanese that was never actually very good because I went to an American school!
What a perfect weekend Erica. First of all , your pasta looked yummy!!! Second of all love that your vlogging! Those chill and productive weekends are the best to recharge the batteries and start the week on a good note. Excited for you tjst your sister is in NY with you :) would love to see some Japanese recipes that you make. I love Japanese cuisine but I’m always stressed to cook some recipes. Have an amazing weekend Erica! ❤️
Nadia! So happy you liked this one. And YES I'll definitely do some more Japanese inspired cooking. There are touches of it in a lot of my recipes already. But I also LOOOOVE the cookbook Japanese Home Cooking by Sonoko Sakai. It's 1. beautiful. 2. extremely vibey and 3. the recipes are gorgeous and easy to follow!
I have so many Rancho Gordo beans, but I find them to be so precious (and honestly sometimes underwhelming when I do cook them because of my ridiculously high expectations). I am lost on what is the best way to eat them in a diverse way? Any ideas are helpful! Could you maybe do a video on all the ways you eat the batch cooked beans?
Hahahhaa oh my goodness I am with you on the ~special~ food hoarding! For beans, I almost always do them the exact same way with slight variations because I love it so much-- I follow the instructions in Tamar Adler's "An Everlasting Meal"--One of my all time favorite books!

Yesss more vlogs!!!!!
You and Emma inspired this one :)😍
Question? Your beans will cook thoroughly without soaking overnight?
Yes! If you cook them slowly and gently they do. I definitely prefer the texture after soaking overnight BUT...I hadddd to have beans that night!
@@fresherica4402 Thanks, good to know. Who knew😳😀
