Don't rub it in, Dave. 😊In November, Californians will vote on a ballot initiative to force the State to prosecute property and drug crimes. When that passes, the politicians will have a mandate. So it's not quite as dire as you say, but things can happen fast in the land of fruits and nuts.😲

Yes, things can happen quickly there! But I do remember Prop 209 and 187 (going by memory here) that were overwhelmingly voted for by the people and it only took one tyrant in a black robe to thwart the will on the people (and yet it's still called "democracy"?). We will see how things play out in California. Hopefully from the safety of Idaho!

@@TreasureValleyDave Californians are getting fed up. They even got rid of the do nothing DA in San Francisco. By the way, where I live I'm seeing a lot of out of state license plates. People are moving back or they're coming to California. For some of the people who leave, the grass on the other side isn't as green as they thought it would be. One Idaho winter probably sends some people packing. Not many, but I've seen Idaho license plates here too.

@@audiophileman7047 Sure, there are some good reasons to move back... or never leave to start with. The reasons I'm seeing are jobs, family and specific medical care. But there are many who have just reached that tipping point of wanting a better future and present that won't happen where they are. That was my reason back in 2013... and it worked out to be soooo much better here so far... and so far as I can see into the future!

@@TreasureValleyDave I bet you've seen a lot of changes in those 11 years you've been there. The growth in the TV is having an impact on the quality of life there. California used to be a good place to live, and then the growth came and spoiled things. People are starting to say the same thing about Idaho. The local residents say that they can't afford to buy a home on the money they make there. That is the same kind of problem California has.

@@audiophileman7047 For sure there have been some changes... and for the Idahoans who have been here for many years or generations, these changes are huge! Eagle Road used to be a country road. Idaho City used to be bigger than Boise. To listen to the locals you'd think we've turned into the Bay Area with it's 9+ million souls. At the end of the day, however, the Treasure Valley is still comparatively small in numbers and small in problems. The problems we do have ring prominent in our ears because of the problems that we don't have. Yes it's difficult to afford a home here for some folks... as it would be most anywhere else in the country. But it's a whole lot easier to have friendly neighbors, genuine friends, and a safe and fulfilling environment to live and raise a family. Those things are truly Idaho... Idaho of 20 years ago, Idaho today, and Idaho into the future. It's not that we have the potential for a better quality of life... but that we actually get to live a better quality of life!
