The DC metro is EASILY the safest subway system out there. Also, I've been in these 7000 series cars a few times, definitely like how clean it is compared to the old cars, BUT I really wish they kept the voice of the old cars to this series. That person sounded much happier and less robotic

I was talking to a Metro operator the other day. When the left side doors are opened, the operator has to get up, press the button on the left side of the train, cancel the alertor, and then press the button on the left side again. It's there as an "added safety feature".

They need to get a more normal sounding voice and drop the "step back to allow customers to enter. When boarding, please move to the center of the car." Worthless instructions that are annoying and cut of information of the next station.
7000 series you see a lot on the silver and blue lines but they are slowing phasing them in to be on all lines. It’s always a bummer when you see one of the old 3000 series trains pull-up lol

Fights, Inter-racial sing-a-longs, break-up, therapy, church lessons (catholic, protestant, & Islam). It would be a bunch of drunk ass tourist from all over and suburban people mingling with the fast inner city lifestyle of the DMV. Simply beautiful times.

Anyone else get aggravated that she kept overriding the robot? No? Just me? It's probably cause this is from 2015 when the trains were very new. Nowadays they only override the robot if they have to bypass a station for some reason and they have to alert people. I've gotten so used to the whole segment from the robot it messes with my brain when I don't get to hear the whole thing
Honestly, I liked the robot voice things and I was on them Yesterday and they didn’t override the robot. However, they still have the old metro cars too that I don’t like because they manually have to say the station and sometimes they end up messing it up.
Jim Quinn it's all being fixed, besides here in Los Angeles, the Metro Blue line is suffering form the same problems, and instead of 40 years, it only took 20 years to get to this point.
