At night the gauges look really similar to that of the Mercedes CLA. A really nice inexpensive fun car it seems.

I just bought a 2017 with 6 speed manual about a month ago now. These videos, on top of the overbuilt engines for reliability and styling as well as the premium package features, sold me on it. Nothing else comes close in the price range. Civic Si's do not have all the creature comforts this car does nor the interior space and cost 3-4k more and finding a used one that isn't overpriced because it's a Honda is ridiculous.
The most reliable car i ever had and still having it as daily car .. 2012 model and 198.000 kilos and still fresh and don’t spent a lot on any services
your talking about a different engine anf transmission. This 1.6T with DCT in Elantra just came in 2017

Hi Windingroad, how would you compare this DCT gearbox to the DSG from Volkswagen? It does seem to change gears just as smoothly :P

Ian Soderlund The Elantra Sport has a base price of just $21 650 and the golf gti starts at $31 000. The golf is cool too, but you'll pay a decent bit extra and this is abit more unique
i thought gti starts at $26000
my 2015 Gti manual was $25k
yeah, this car is hands down a VERY cool little offering. I'm in the market for a new car and have been researching for a year. I've looked at and test drove all the usuals, VW GTI/R, New Civic sedan and Hatch, Focus ST..... all nice cars with their pluses and m inuses but when taking EVERYTHING into account ie, warranty, reliability, price, performance etc. This one wins. I even went to see its new brother the GT sport and I still come back to this one because of the interior and the exterior styling. I havn't pulled the trigger yet but very close, pretty sure I'm going to go with this vehicle, just checks so many boxes. I'm just trying to figure out if I could fit my mountain bike in the trunk...??
What did you end up doing?
I have the se version and it sounds exactly the same as the sport version when I put in it sport mode. Why is that?🤔

Witch car did you like the most. This car, or the Honda Civic touring you drove?
oscar mora Two different orientations to be honest. This is a lot sportier than the Civic, whereas the civic has a more refined ride and interior. You could say the civic is a better daily driver especially in Touring model with the drivers assistance features but this car is a bit more fun.
Francis Fung cool I myself have a civic touring and wanted to see how they compare with each other, but you get a lot of value and technology with both cars I believe

Kia Forte5 sx is the same car as this even dct option.
Sean Moore the Kia Forte may have the same engine and overall ergonomics but it lacks the all wheel independent suspension that the Elantra GT sport has.
TVinmyEye yeah but the elantra gt sport just looks plain to me. And if we're talking just performance they have the same specs.

It's definitely a nice car and possibly my next car in the next couple of years. The only problem is that I wish it was like 250 hp instead of just 201. 201 hp whilst good enough for most daily things just is barely cutting it to be considered sporty by todays standards where many cars are over 300hp.
Monsieur Africain well if the engined produced 250Hp you could expect to pay about high 20’s for this car.
buy a mustang, camaro or challenger. this car is more practical though
Monsieur Africain I saw one at my local dealer that was tuned by Blood Type Racing here in Chicagoland. It had a bunch of mods. Sounded great, lots of pops and gurgles from the exhaust. It was raining the day I saw it and it was during rush hour so I didn’t test drive it. I just started it up. Went back a couple days later and it was sold!!! I’m kind of waiting for the new Veloster N version to come out later this year. We currently have a 2015 Elantra Limited that’s my wife’s Dailey driver. I have a company car with a gas card so when I get something, it will sit most of the time except when the weekend comes around.
You should also consider the weight of this type of car. Just being around 3000lbs & 200hp is actually pretty good. I'm sure at some point there'll be a tune 4 it. If it's not already out there.

Alexis Gomez because you didn't get the premium package. That's $2700 more which gets you premium speakers, sunroof(not sure), blind spot monitoring, and navigation.
Francis is right. I sell Hyundai. The Premium package is needed for Navigation, Sunroof, blind spot detection, Infinity Sound system, Bluelink ect... Its worth it .
i dont think its worth it. Just get a stand for your smartphone to stick on the dashboard and use GPS on it. You save a lot of money

Not really, you are losing MPG or KPL
how are you losing mpg with a manual, it's the opposite
A DCT is more efficient than any manual driver at shifting. Though I am getting mine in manual because you can hold the gears as long as you'd like without it shifting for you (DCT shifts for you even in manual)
the DCT can also accelerate faster because its more effficient in changing gears than humans can with the manual. Go with DCT if u want to a little more pep though i'm not sure if we will notice the difference.

Luca Tenti maybe because it's nighy and mode is set as a dual screen?? at least its got Android auto / Apple carplay which none of the Mazda model has.
Mazda is getting Android Auto / Apple CarPlay this year on all of their Kodo cars.
