Nice. But then, the regular RC signal itself never went below 4 bars, so it never actually switched to cellular in this test flight. What I'd imagine this being really useful for, is flying low and behind obstructions which would cause the regular O4 transmission to struggle.
I have the dongle 2 from DJI in the Netherlands and it works fantastic!!! As soon as the controller no longer has a signal, the dongle takes over the signal. so you can fly further and lower without limits! awesome !!
What did you actually test - not the dongle. You did not loose the regular drone signal and fly with the 4G signal. I think you have misunderstood the purpose of this dongle.
Completely ridiculous YT since u're never disconnected from remote controller I can tell ❤️. And yes I've tested this thoroughly myself - disconnected from RC and ONLY running live connection over 4G network. TGIF ❤️
You gave the impression that the 4g dongle Performs well but you never actually lost remote signal. Everyone else who has tested the 4g dongle properly has said it has been a failure
Tested thoroughly in urban areas. Works as advertised perfectly. If u're using any phone operator w bad coverage or in rural areas or at heights above 120m AGL u're getting weak 4G coverage for obvious reasons I can tell ❤️
With the mini 4 pro do you really have to buy the mount to attach it? Couldn't you use any velcro strap to hold it in place. £20 is too much just for that
@@olabergvall3154 Yea, I'm not too interested unless there is new ground breaking technology in the battery industry which I don't see happening anytime soon. I took my Mini 3 Pro 12km and back on Intelligent Plus Battery and 14km and back on custom double battery from AliExpress.
So my question ia what happens if the wifi signal drops out? Will return to home still kick in and bring the drone back? Phone dies as an example. Also is it finally available in the US??
Great questions, I have no idea but I’m also not willing to test that 😧 It should be available in the US soon, hopefully. Follow here for more details: linktr.ee/danstubetv
If I understand this correctly you don’t have to put a SIM card in the 4G dongle in your drone but I use the SIM card from your phone by means of a hotspot. But how can your drone use the SIM card in your phone when it’s let say 500 meters away from you and it looses the RC connection?
You are placing dji dongle 2 modem into drone. As any 4g modem it needs sim card. Did you even read dji documentation or their official tutorial on this?
Hey Dan, I have a Mini SE & have experienced "range limitation" warnings a couple times on recent flights where I could not fly the drone forward. Both times it was a little windy but not extremely. What causes this? Is this normal with all DJI models? Thanks!
I use Ok2Fly for aerodromes. You might need to check Google Maps for what’s in the area and then go to the website of the building/location to contact them.
I don't think we went far enough in that flight for RC to be weak enough for 4G to take over at any point did we ?! Also, YMMV as to what is required to operate this legally. In the UK for example, you can't just buy any old sim card and use that, you need a specialised one only sold directly by service providers, and you actually need an OFCOM license as well !
Yep, seems a strange decision for DJI to sell this to be fair. The older 4G LTE dongle for the Mavic 3 series and Mini 3 was only available for sale in China although is possible to buy from Aliexpress - I know as have two myself for internet access for controllers. Similarly would need special SIm and OFCOM licence to use that for "enhanced transmission".
that actually really cool didn’t even know that exist hopefully they do the same thing for the air 4 in the future because I would like to buy such a thing because I’m a range junky and I like to fly far with mine meaning with my mini 3 pro

I can’t turn on the Enhanced transmission, if I try on main screen it won’t even turn blue but if I go into transmission menu and turn it on there it turns blue but when I go out of transmission menu it turns back to gray so it’s off, I tried everything with updates and still no go.

But you claim "Unlimited Drone Range" knowing that it's Not Unlimited. Then you want people to take you serious! Come on.
The only limitation now is battery life but this dongle effectively gives you unlimited range with your drone…
Nice. But then, the regular RC signal itself never went below 4 bars, so it never actually switched to cellular in this test flight.
What I'd imagine this being really useful for, is flying low and behind obstructions which would cause the regular O4 transmission to struggle.
Exactly I’m trying to travel 2 miles in high interference urban area .. but over certain homes the signal
Check out the recent test that I’ve done on my channel. RC signal was lost and 4G was used for the flight.
You did wrong test, actually didnt tested dongle at all, firstly to check how it works, you need to loose signal from RC
Oops 🙊 I’ve uploaded a revised test where the RC signal is lost and I’m using the 4G dongle exclusively. Check that video out on my channel 📶

no, i bought it from dji store. 169 euros including DJI mini pro 4 mount kit

It works perfectly flying once 4G takes over for me, Scotland 😊
Check out my new video, I do a proper 4G flight.
If your wifi drops out..phone dies or something will RTH still work? Will the drone come back on its own??
That is a great question, I have no idea and I’m not willing to test it 😦
With the mini 4 pro do you really have to buy the mount to attach it? Couldn't you use any velcro strap to hold it in place. £20 is too much just for that
You could use a velcro strap but it might not be completely secure.
Whats the max range you can push this using the 4g network ?

You need to insert a SIM card into the DJI Cellular Dongle 2 and then hotspot to the RC 2 with another internet connection (mobile hotspot).
Hey Dan, I have a Mini SE & have experienced "range limitation" warnings a couple times on recent flights where I could not fly the drone forward. Both times it was a little windy but not extremely. What causes this? Is this normal with all DJI models? Thanks!
Make sure that you are in an open area, facing the drone with the controller, if there is any interference then the range will drop hugely.
Thanks. I was wondering if the area had restrictions since it's a historical building. What's the easiest way to check for that? Thanks
I use Ok2Fly for aerodromes. You might need to check Google Maps for what’s in the area and then go to the website of the building/location to contact them.
Great idea,PIC'S in the US users must have VLOS at all times unless completing a Waiver.
Yes!
So what’s the overall battery drain ?? When using it
It is not noticeable. I would imagine it would use minimal battery life to power the dongle.
Can you please Provide a Link where this can be purchased?

Thanks for watching. I have another video on the channel showcasing a true 4G flight without an RC connection.
For the rc2 does it have to be your phone for hot spot can one use another 4 G dongle to hot spot your rc2
You can use any hotspot , you can even sit inside your house and fly using your home network
Does the dongle have a sim in it? do you to purchase separately or is the dongle using your phone sim?
Any hotspot will work, pocket wifi, a 4G dongle, local wifi or anything that can give you a connection.
