Sammy showed respect when he bowed to David Lee Roth when he first came out- sadly David Lee didn’t see it as he was looking away. Was a nice gesture on Sammy Hagar’s part.
Dave has quite the swagger. I like them both but David Lee Roth is what Van Halen means to me.( and of Course Eddie Van Halen ) I am sure Sam is a great guy. But Roth has what it takes. We all get old. ( I like how Sammy bowed down to Dave, who was the orginal Frontman for Van Halen, that was Cool )

Two awesome singers with great songs. I think Sammy would like to be friendly but DLR isn’t obliging but they weren’t too insulting of each other. Does anybody know how these two ever been on a interview together? Have they ever sang together? I don’t think so, but I was just wondering. DLR is very creative and artistic and people like that. Any musician and Sammy Hagar is just a great vocalist. Great talent.
I wish there were more interviews. Two greats in their own right.

So true. Look at all of the groups that Sammy has been a part of. Starting with Montrose, his solo stuff, then a short-lived band called HSAS, join Van Halen and 85, then after that, he had the Waborritas band, then for a short time he had planet us, then Chickenfoot, now the circle. You tell me that Sammy doesn’t have talent. Check out his résumé like I just named all of the groups.
First 6 albums prove otherwise
1978-1984 = legendary & innovative. After that it became a regular quasi rock pop band and all the badass left the building.

OK!. Everyone has their favorites right? Some people like David Lee Roth, some people like Sammy Hagar. Well for me, Sammy Hagar hands-down. I will it mitt that there is a few songs with David Lee Roth with Van Halen that I like. The only two solo songs I like with diamond Dave of his own is his cover of California girls, and just a gigolo.
I have always thought that as different as Dave and Sammy seem, they are actually a lot alike. Then, I realized they are both Scorpios (10/10 and 10/13). It explains a lot.

Eddie wouldn't have had the career he had without either one of them. The Van Halen brothers owe everything to Roth. What they did with the first five albums will never be duplicated. Two diamond and Van Halen two is around 8 million in sales.
