Saved to BEST VIDEO EVER. Thank you brother. You just helped me clear up my mind massively about selecting a niche for my business. This video is gold.
@@my2004rx8 haha im still in highschool so i don't think id get too far if i started right now, but I've been eyeing real estate photography for a few months
Great video, here in New Zealand real estate is the biggest part if our economy. I really dont like shooting it but have built up a business doing it outside of the other stuff i shoot and plan to scale it up when my kid starts school in 2026. Appreciate the insight 🙌
Grateful for the candid conversation about the business of real estate photography. I'm based in LA and would love to help you film some of your content if you're interested. I think it'd be cool to have you more on camera in this fashion.
Yes after a while I got someone. But in the beginning it was just me. If you aren’t editing it’s not that much work, cuz editing is the longest part. For all admin stuff it’s like just 10 mins per shoot. So 1 shoot a day it’s not that much even 4 shoots a day you can do alone
@@my2004rx8 Thanks for the reply! So you were doing all the post-processing yourself at first before deciding to outsource? If your revenue was $55k/month, what was your profit? To be transparent, I used to shoot real estate photography back in the early 2010s as a stepping stone into more interesting architectural work. But now that the market is changing, I want to re-enter the real estate photography market and treat it strictly as a business, stepping away from the camera as soon as possible. So I have no issue with experience shooting or a portfolio. It's the business part where I need to step up. Appreciate any insight that you have.
@@evilevievilevi I wish I started outsourcing from day 1 but I was close minded and didn’t. But I never looked back, I got my life back. Get a contractor that can shoot for 80-100 per house and charge $200 per house. U focus on getting customers while he focuses on shooting. Outsource the editing it’ll be like 20 bucks per house. That way you can scale and do it from anywhere in the world. You can even get people in other states if you sell shoots there
Are you talking about the G-master 16-35? that lens in good condition is hard to find under a grand for sure. Is aperture important because Sony does sell the F/4 version of that lens

@@my2004rx8 all sorts, commercial, outdoor, action sports, events. Yes agree and takes a lot longer when they are there. 🙌

How did you handle scheduling for so many shoots? Did you hire someone? Was it automated somehow?

Hey what lense is best 10mm or 16mm? I already own an a7r4 and am seriously interested in this idea of doing real estate photography.
@@dannygoldsmith4987 if you own an a7r4 get a 16-35mm or a 14mm
They are both under 1k used

@@my2004rx8 I live in Vermont where there is a housing crisis of sorts, that would probably be a problem I imagine?
@@dannygoldsmith4987 no there’s still enough. In 2022 7764 homes sold in Vermont. Even if you shot 5% of that you would do 388 shoots in a year.
