If you have green foliage but brown or beige landscape, I’d say do green as base, because when you put the leaves on afterward, your covering up the green silhouette and putting the beige or brown on top of the leaves, leaving (pun intended) a green silhouette of a leaf or bush on your brown/dirt gun
except with airlines. If you intend to travel without having to declare a firearm you NEED an orange tip. The orange tip defines it as a toy at that point. (I know this because I work at an airport)
You are my favourite airsoft/paintball youtuber, I say that because you are imho better then any of the paintball youtubers. I prefer paintball over airsoft but I really enjoy your content I am going to have to get me an airsoft rifle now
You do not have to sand it down. If you scuff it up it will only adhere better. I have found it more important to ensure there are no oils on the gun prior to painting. Light coats from start to finish. Little will go a long ways when camostimizing a gun.
If you sit the cans in warm water first then shake them it will mix better and dry quicker. You need to spray light even coats and hang the gun for best results. also put something in the end of the barrel.
law may possibly change from State to state but in the us the only time you need the orange tip is at the point of sale after that you can take it off and do whatever you want with it
I'm torn... I'd love to do this for outdoor field games... but at the same time... I REALLY like my guns with the stock paint colour... this is really tempting.
Force on force in Edmonton, there symbol for their field is literally the opposite of your symbol, theirs is the cross arrow but with a Canadian leaf in the middle and yours in the leaf outside the cross arrow
For anyone in the UK. You must have a UKARA membership (obtained after playing 3 games in over 56 days at the same UKARA registered site) to buy airsoft guns that look realistic (Black, Olive, Desert). You have to be over 18 to register with UKARA however someone with a UKARA may gift (no exchange of labour, money or services etc in return for the product) RIF (realistic imitation firearm). Its is heavily suggested not to buy a two tone airsoft gun and paint it until you have a UKARA. So for the content in this video, you will be fine as long as you have a UKARA.
If you guys are thinking of paintin your gun then do it because when i did it, it looked sick as hell and if you want more of like a desert camo than dont use shadows and then start with the dark green paint first and it will turn out well. I would show you a pic of my gun that i did but i dont know how to do that lol
In New Hampshire you have to travel with the orange tip on and on public property. On private property you don't have to have it on or if some places allow it like airsoft fields. some though
Just to be pedantic. You started with a light color. Then applied your leaves. Then painted it green. The effect of that was that you had bright leaves, because the green went around them. Wouldn't it be better to use the green first then use the dark color so you have green leaves with dark around them. Like a bush. then highlight with light colors. Regardless, that thing is damn hard to see even when I'm looking right at it. So job well done.
I'd recommend hanging the gun with some string on a clothesline or branch, that way you won't get drips and you can paint the whole gun at once instead of one side at a time.
I'm sorry Dayton but swamp sniper's technique is better. Laying down the gun makes the coats on both sides look different and uneven just hang up your gun
At the same time it's not supposed to be even. Camouflage is a successful failure of mixed patterns and paint, but placed in randomized "loosely fallen" positions. Yea, hanging it makes it easier, but actually dropping local fauna and plants onto it makes a more realistic positioning of whatever's on the ground of your area. It's weird doing camo paint. You want it to look good, but also want the natural look, which is disorganized, which makes people usually not like it.It's difficult in itself sometimes
Cody Poole I know its late but it's not meant to be in even as it's ment to break the contours of the gun up so it doesn't look like a gun from either 20-50m away
the orange tip is kinda only needed in California in the US cause you know.. comifornia and all but most states here don't require it either. also as a side note i learned if your not from Cali and your gun doesn't have an orange tip its still legal for you to use since i guess its not from there or because your not from there. no clue the reasoning behind that.
Pro tips: 1. Don't scuff the surface, you don't want your paint sticking. 2. Don't mask anything off. You really want paint in/on your moving parts, especially the end of your inner barrel.
*In my state ( Arizona )at least you don’t need an orange tip, but I think it depends on where you are in the USA. But it is probably a good idea to have some sort of marker to show it is not a real firearm…
you cant technically take off the orange tip if your off your property but nobody really follows it, more guns in the US have black tips (in my field in Virginia).

At the end. I don't see what he's holding. What's he talking about?
The piece of cardboard? The spray can? or is it a joke about the gun being invisible because it has camo?
Notlekon the gun....
ahh ok I get it

I didn't find the colors this and that :(

Wow, great job you rifle looks amazing. I never realized that painting a Airsoft gun is so easy. Thanks for your help! I might try to paint my SSG-24.
0:56 LOL I see what you where referencing there :P also its better to hang your gun while painting instead of laying it on its side.
Good ol' Novritsch

I enjoyed the video! Keep it up!
U.S. just needs an orange tip to for retailers to sell to public. After that, it's basically anything goes.
Will Kirkpatrick ohh ok
Ok thnx
except with airlines. If you intend to travel without having to declare a firearm you NEED an orange tip. The orange tip defines it as a toy at that point. (I know this because I work at an airport)
Matthew Marie so attach a end with orange or can't you just register it at the airport
Thanks I wasn't sure

this was one of the funniest painting vids i have ever seen!
Bruh, America is weird. There are deserts, snow, forests, and weird urban places, One camouflage won't fit all.
Multiple guns.
Ww1 ship camo should do the trick
That’s why they have either assigned operations areas or just multiple guns
Yeah
Steven Hamke it’s called dazzle camo and I want it all of my things
Edit: want it on all of my things*
Lmao I love the dry humor, in a way it makes it funnier
Dayton is THE BEST airsoft yotuber.👌
YOU SHOULD'VE PAINTED YOUR LOGO ON IT
Sharknado Dom that would be sick
Timberwolf Airsoft yeah that would've been cool but his red logo would've been kinda noticeable
REPTheAirsofter hi
Well then it would be a random logo
So this is how Canadians make DIY vids. NOICE!!!
that first catch was sick
I love these homemade type of videos that are actually really good

Is Canada the chillest country? No orange tips, basically legal pot, almost no gun crime... well, except when Ricky, Julian, and bubbles come to town

I got a tan m4
There were no black ones in stock
I just have to put my m4 in the groun and spry it black?

+Jamie Fitzpatrick Either way works. Also it's easier to do the bit with the leaves when the gun is laying flat
House Gamers Airsoft this true, also hi lol
My guns are a bit stick to hold right now. It’s only been like an hour since I painted them. Hopefully it isn’t sticky tomorrow
Dark green, this, and that are my favorite colors!
alternatively you can buy camo wrap tape (not actually adhesive). works amazing if not better as it adds grip and lowers your noise profile
Love your vids man starts my day off with a smile
Yay Tutorials with Dayton!
Please make this video but with the lancer tactical lt-19b because I have that but can’t paint it because I don’t know what to tape off
tape off anything related to the interior mechanisms (trigger, inner barrel, etc...)
And then there's me. I live in a desert. I don't need to paint my gun, because it's tan. I don't need to wear clothes because I have a tan. BOOM.

In the US, it differs from state to state, but the universal rule is an orange tip

The us does not require orange tips if a normal person wants to own/use an airsoft gun, but if it is sold commercially it has to have an orange tip
Dude, seriously. You crack me up....
Love the opening dude keep up the good work 👍
You are the Bob Ross of airsoft
the orange tip is kinda only needed in California in the US cause you know.. comifornia and all but most states here don't require it either. also as a side note i learned if your not from Cali and your gun doesn't have an orange tip its still legal for you to use since i guess its not from there or because your not from there. no clue the reasoning behind that.

4:00 alright, poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, aaaaaaand that's about it 😂
No orange tips in Canada? Probably because they’ll be like “ oh don’t worry about it eh, we trust you” JK great vid man
Pro tips:
1. Don't scuff the surface, you don't want your paint sticking.
2. Don't mask anything off. You really want paint in/on your moving parts, especially the end of your inner barrel.
You don't need to scuff the surface with Krylon.
Dope camo 👌. My idea is a bit time consuming, but I would make like a gillie suit for the rifle out of real leaves from your surroundings in the vid
"How to paint your airsoft gun" "use a little bit of this and a little bit of that with some vegetables"
Nice catches with the paint cans!
This is one genuinely funny dude
*In my state ( Arizona )at least you don’t need an orange tip, but I think it depends on where you are in the USA. But it is probably a good idea to have some sort of marker to show it is not a real firearm…

your presentation is on point
fun fact in the uk you only need orange until you have a license then you can lose it however keep a orange cover on you until you are on the field
youre supposed to have the orange tips on airsoft guns in the us but people tend to take them off or paint over them anyway
you cant technically take off the orange tip if your off your property but nobody really follows it, more guns in the US have black tips (in my field in Virginia).
