I like how this entire episode was just Matt being super hyped about Splatterhouse, while Woolie and Liam talk about the biology and science behind Meatwalls.
Jokerhamil Nah man, Grenada was his testing grounds as a kid but when that guy with the machete said showed up on his window and said "I comin' back!" he got scared and moved to Canada. Years later, ashamed of his failure he joined the varsity football team then this one guy pissed him off, then he killed that guy Viper vs. Mountain style, why do you think he knows so much about eyes popping during this video and the Samurai Cop one?
DIO's Scary Monster and THE WORLD Woolie was actually a child soldier that went crazy from VR training missions. From that day forward in Varsity Football, he became known as Madden the Piledriver.
Francis York Morgan QUUUUUUIIIIINNNNNTTTTTT!!!!!!! *_Drops to my knees in the rain, screaming at the sky in front of his trailer that's actually just Kaysen_*
for Marlow Briggs I thought they just took the GDD from God of War but took out all the parts about the main character being an unlikeable assfuck idiot who blames everyone else for problems he caused. also improved the combat a little
Oh I remember when this game was announced in like 2007 or whatever. I never heard anything else about it. I wasn't even sure if it ever came out until I saw it at a friend's house and they said "Don't touch that horrible abortion of a game! It sucks so much." Until now, that was my only experience with this game, and I don't know why my friend hated this game so much...
Long loading screens aside I enjoyed this game a lot. Decent fighting system, good atmosphere, solid soundtrack, and as a bonus the three original Splatterhouse games.
It's not a bad game at all. It's nothing amazing, but to me, I enjoyed my entire playthrough of it and actually wanted a sequel to happen so that they could clean the game up abit. If you like 3D beat 'em up games like this and God of War and all that, it's totally a recommendable game.
Its the Duke Nukem Forever effect, where an "Ok" to "Decent" game gets bashed because it took a while to come out and didn't live up to the hype. and yes, I'm saying Duke Nukem Forever is an "Ok" game. its not great but its not as bad as people make it out to be.
projackX thank you, no really thank you, loading screens aside that game actually had a pretty fun combat system and really fun multiplayer while it lasted
This is seriously one of my favorite games of last generation. It falls apart in the last couple of missions but it's just so good, especially as a horror fan. It has references out the ass, amazing violence, and great dialog and humor. Jim Cummings brings such gravitas to the game. Love this game.
This game was fun a lot but there was some bullshit with it. There were a few neat references in it and in every level you could collect 4 pieces of a picture that, 9 times out of 10, was Jennifer topless. Seriously.
If you can find Splatterhouse for less than $10, and you like some elaborately themed horror sets painted by a repetitive, but incredibly visceral combat engine, you should totally go for it. There's a few bugs here and there, and it is pretty repetitive, but the weird little HP Lovecraft winks and nods, a surprisingly well told story, and a demon infested swamp carnival level (which I really wish they had shown off here, its like the most "Goosebumps: One Day at Horrorland" thing ever) more than make up for that. Its a pretty solid game overall. Plus there's collectable topless photos of Jennifer, so there's that. Whether thats a pro or a con is up to you.
Holy shit. This is so fucking... just absurdly violent and bloody it kinda loops around on itself to become a performance art piece. I appreciate games like this, that are basically huge fuck yous to censors.
Actually, the 2nd and 3rd Splatterhouse were exclusive to the Megadrive/Genesis, while this game got ported to PC Engine/Turbografx and a very obscure Japanese system called the FM Towns Marty. The FM Towns version is actually an arcade perfect port, while the PC Engine obviously had to be changed because of hardware limitations. The PC Engine version is actually mostly uncensored and iIt's the main reason I bought a PC Engine a few years back.
This is *Blasphemy*! There are *3* of the Zaibatsu Present, therefore this is Super Best Friends! Unless..... Of course......Woolie died in Magma back in his last Woolie Vs. Japan Video.. So his dialogue *_must_* be a Pre-Recorded Audio File that seemingly matched what they were talking about!
I don't remember the eyeballs I dissected in biology class shattering. They were more like really tough bags of water that you had to practically saw open with a scalpel. I'm not an expert on murder like Woolie, though, so I could be wrong.
I don't care what anyone says about this game it's freaking amazing and as gore filled as you'd expect it to be and filled with metal and best voice actor ever for the mask.
On Splatterhouse 3, to do the spin kick as normal Rick you press back, forward, attack (quickly) and as Mutated Rick to do your wild 10 fist punch or whatever you would call it you press back, forward, back, attack (also quickly). And when you grab a monster as Mutated Rick you can press up and jump to do an Izuna Drop move. There are actually quite a few moves that help out a lot. To get the good ending I had to spin kick like crazy, otherwise you almost always run out of time.
Woolie realizing The Kimimaro Connection. Priceless. _Kimimaro was such a badass. You can say that Naruto sucks in general, and it kind of does, but if you see that guy you'd know how metal he is._
The Splatterhouse remake gets such a bad rap I personally loved every minute of it, the game knows it's a B-movie schlocK-fest and revels in its. Also the sheer fact that it includes the first 3 games including the arcade port is worth the price of admission alone.😊
MikkoLovesGaming If they made that a story arc, i might start caring about WWE. Like Cena makes a huge heel turn and becomes a bad guy that everyone hates and Kane has to get his mask back to save him.
True, but that would be hype. Cena would have like a dark remix of his dumb theme song and Kane would be like John i need to get that mask off you to save your soul.
Junior Maloko don't expect it though. Everyone has taken their lumps to be a bad guy but Cena. Since for whatever reason Cena sells a lot of merch. WWE won't fire his ass and find someone who knows how to wrestle.
I think for the past year or so, this video has been in my recommendations in the side list and on what is on the screen after a video ends, maybe 50% of the time for any video I watch on youtube, any video! I have seen this along time ago but youtube really aggressively wants me to watch it again I guess, lol.
I think at one point in time, they mentioned that she did because apparently she thought Matt's jokes about her were funny and Pat got all embarrassed.
That's Jim Fuckin' Cummings, you heathens. Christ, if a voice actor isn't in Persona or Metal Gear you don't remember their name. Dude was Monterey Jack. Respect.
2:33 Jim Cummings. Easily one of the best and most prolific voice actors of all time. I do really like this game for what it is, even though it could've been so much more. Despite the insane and cheap difficulty curve in the beginning (which was one of the reasons why some critics and fans just shat on this game), long loading times and awkward platforming segments, this is very much a solid action adventure hack-n-slash game. A nice 3D representation of the Splatterhouse series. Its a shame that this may be the last game from the series.
The soundtrack is pretty mixed. I imagine alot heavier, gore-related stuff fitting this game quite well. I do like that Terrorizer is in the soundtrack though, that's pretty sick. If there was more grindcore or death metal it'd work really well (Napalm Death, Exhumed, Skinless, Necrophagist, etc.) That would be a good soundtrack. That said, I can't complain when Lamb of God is in the OST.
I think that has to do with the budget. The project damn near got canned before Namco finished it. So I don't think they had the money to secure more music in time. Would have been awesome to hear more bands.
Maybe this is just my metalhead brain going nuts but imagine if there were bands like Impaled, Bloodbath and Psychroptic? Maybe even some slam-death like the instrumental versions of songs from Disfiguring The Goddess (cos they sure would fit the tone of the game).
***** That would have been badass! And you can tell in interviews that that's what they wanted. But shit happens, I guess. We're just lucky the game managed to actually be *fun*. If it ended up like Ride to Hell... *shivers*
I used to think making the time limits in Splatterhouse 3 was im-fucking-possible. Then I got the internet, and looked it up, and found out, the spinkick does the damage of two full combos. How to make it in time is, never stop spinkicking.
The way splatterhouse 3's time works is that you can continue playing even after the time runs out, you just get a bad end. Now the special moves are as follow... The spin kick is Back, Forward, Back Attack Super Rick's "gut arm extension" is with the same version Rick can choke monsters in super form by grabbing them and just pressing attack without pressing anything else There's a super suplex move that I'm not sure how to do, I'll go see if I can pull it off right now. I feel like you guys should give this game another go play it entirely really good story imo
Yo, Marlow Briggs vs Splatterhouse fucker. .... you know what? We just outright need a "Beat 'em Up Character" Fighting Game. Someone kick start that shit; get the people who made Anarchy Reigns in on it.

The remake was meant to get story dlc(bloody valentine which probably would have wraped up the story) acording to the offical facebook page but namco cancelled it =( The way the remake was treated in terms of reviews practically killed part of the splatterhouse fanbase. =(
Everybody saying the Splatterhouse guy looks like John Cena, but nobody talking about Jason Voorhees/Friday the 13th. What the hell? I remember seeing some screenshots of the older Splatterhouse games and being like "How have I never seen this 'Friday the 13th' game before?!"

Omg...I remember it my big brother played this game, when i was kid......I couldn't sleep at night seen hearing the music and her wife scenes on my head.....GOD DAMMIT!!!
This game is fucking awesome! I have it since launch, I played trough it more than 6 times. It's filled with really good content, and it has super fun combat. I just love this game! And the music will help you enjoy all the blood and gore even more.
I considered buying this when it came out because it looked cool but i didnt have much money and i think something else i wanted was coiming out that month. This video is making me reconsider buying it, maybe i will buy it.
I like how this entire episode was just Matt being super hyped about Splatterhouse, while Woolie and Liam talk about the biology and science behind Meatwalls.

Now I know where Marlow Briggs came from: they took the design docs for Splatterhouse and replaced "metal" with "Aztec".
Aztec *IS* metal.

Pre-hulk Rick is _intensely_ 90's-looking. I basically just saw Seth Green turn into Bane.
"No, that's marrying, believe me."
-Matt McMarriedMuscles.
The fact the Terror Mask sounds like it's possessed by Negaduck makes it even more awesome than it already is. Jim Cummings is the shit.
Does anyone else note the fact that this is a horror-themed Marlow Briggs? Because its plot, its mask, and its currency are super close.
Well, the Splatterhouse series existed well before Marlow Briggs, so it's the other way around, really. ^^
Furymgs3 You're right, but I'm going by the Zaibatsu's order of playing these games. Also, Marlow Briggs is a lot more memorable to me.

Woolie. Suddenly the expert on Dark Souls.
With a trainer like Mild-Mannered Pat how could he possibly lose?
samuraiwolf22 Very badly, actually. Did you see how fast he died to that invader in the Shrine of Amana? He got fukin rekted.

Oh that animation of the blood getting sucked back up is great. No it's terrible but it's AWESOME
For some reason the character makes me think of John Cena as the hulk when running around.
He was BASICALLY Rapper Cena. lol
I can't see it
that's why Liam's there lmao
Don't tell Woolie.

OBUJEKKUSHON!
PAT IS ACTUALLY RICK!
Super Best Friends is almost always Matt, Pat, and Woolie. It's based on who, not how many.
Only Pat is super.
But not in size. He is the "Yoda" of the group!
Don't worry. That "magma" was just Orange Ade, made by our sponsor Osaka Orange Ade Concern. It's loaded with wasabi!
I don't remember the eyeballs I dissected in biology class shattering. They were more like really tough bags of water that you had to practically saw open with a scalpel.

Splatterhouse 3 forces you to master that spin kick if you want to beat the timers.
I don't care what anyone says about this game it's freaking amazing and as gore filled as you'd expect it to be and filled with metal and best voice actor ever for the mask.
This was the first game I ever played in a real arcade. So much nostalgia.

I like how Matt n Woolie`s awesomeness is so great it eclipses Liams sheer stupidity in this video.
The remake was so great, but it sold terribly. Namco fired *everybody* on the staff that worked on it, which is total bullshit.
i thought it was a really good game
The Splatterhouse remake gets such a bad rap I personally loved every minute of it, the game knows it's a B-movie schlocK-fest and revels in its. Also the sheer fact that it includes the first 3 games including the arcade port is worth the price of admission alone.😊
This would be a great (a.h.c) Action, Horror,Comedy film SERIES seriously. I know it's ancient video game history franchise
Am I the only one who wants them to do a full let's play of the remake?
I like how at first Woolie was trying to avoid his football murder but now he EMBRACES it.
This is better than Christmas. I've been hoping you guys would play this since the first Shitstorm
Doomguy needs to inherent the terror mask and be op as hell
Oooh, I love the Splatterhouse reboot, absolutely one of my fave 3D brawlers.
MORE BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! Wait... TOO MUCH BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! PLEASE STOP! THE BLOOD GOD IS FULL!
The Skull God isnt getting anywhere NEAR the amount of groundswell as the Blood God lately. must be pretty salty.
The skull god is a mere piece of the blood god's skull throne!
NO THERE MUST BE MORE!!!!!! ALWAYS MORE!!!!!
Even Woolie realises the advantages of the metric system... and he can't even read or count!
Oh wow, I found that Chun Li cosplayer. Damn, that takes a lot of leg strength to keep up.

I still have Splatterhouse for my TG16. I played the hell out of it in my younger days.
Brutal Legend is Judas Priest while Splatterhouse is Cannibal Corpse.
Jim Cummings. hes in literally everything lol and has played hundreds of famous characters.
First song is Municipal Waste: Rigorous Vengeance.
49:47 This whole exchange between Matt and Woolie kills me. XD
Got a few college assignments to finish--oh look, Best Friends uploaded a new video.
Oh hey, you're the guy who does the thing with the girls. Nice work.
SledgeHammerGai O hey, ur the guy who comments on the guy who does the thing with the girls. Tanks
That modern Splatterhouse actually looked fun. Kind of want to go find a used version now.
Guy looks like John Cena wearing a skull mask.
If Cena actually wears that mask to every match I will hate him a little less.
Cena steals Kane's mask and becomes The Demon Cena. UUOOOOOOHHH!!
MikkoLovesGaming
If they made that a story arc, i might start caring about WWE. Like Cena makes a huge heel turn and becomes a bad guy that everyone hates and Kane has to get his mask back to save him.
Junior Maloko I'd definitely tune in for that, but Cena's selling way too much merch to be leveraged into doing anything interesting. lol

Jim Cummings doing his old Dr. Robotnik voice in a game? I'm totally down for that.
Man I had no idea Splatterhouse 1-3 was also in the new Splatterhouse. I think I'll have to pick that up some time now.
As a young fella I spent a fortune on the original game on the arcade of this! FANTASIC MEMORIES😃🔪😃
The original Splatterhouse is so fucking cool. I'm glad the Zaibatsu is finally playing it.
I played this back when it came out and it was fucking amazing, definitely one of the more looked over games.

Gameplay looks solid! Just hope it will have a little more weapon variety, that's one of the most important aspects of a top down shooter!
I've constantly yelled SHUT THE FUCK UP MATT!so I could hear the in-game dialogue lol
A nice update to a classic arcade game that I enjoyed in my youth :)
I like Streets Of Rage 3. After playing the second, the speed was overwhelming at first but I grew to appreciate it. I like the star system.
In this episode, Woolie reveals he is vastly more ghetto metal than any of us ever imagined.
I love Splatterhouse 1-3 but I have never played the 2010 version.

I didn't realize the main character is modeled after John Cena
OF COURSE Woolie would know how eyeballs crack, bet he learned that when he killed that guy.
This game had more butt stuff than expected.
If you were to tell me there was a lot of "butt stuff" in a game called Splatterhouse, I would have thought it was a totally different game.
More than you wished, BUT LESS THAN YOU HOPED!
you should always expect the butt
The voice on the mask simultaneously makes me think of the Clown from Spawn and the vengeance god from Moon Knight.
YES!!!!!! DO A FULL WALKTHROUGH OF THIS, PLEASE!!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Woolie confirmed for Grenada Ministry of Health-certified optometrist.
i remeber playing this. Only reason to do so is because it has all the old splatterhouses in it
I absolutely loved this game. I am so bummed there won't be anymore because I'd buy that shit 10 times over.
I considered buying this when it came out because it looked cool but i didnt have much money and i think something else i wanted was coiming out that month. This video is making me reconsider buying it, maybe i will buy it.
