About:
Biréli Lagrène is a French guitarist and bassist. He came to prominence in the 1980s for his Django Reinhardt-influenced style on the guitar, as well as for being a jazz fusion virtuoso on the electric guitar. He often performs within the swing, jazz fusion and post-bop mediums.

No one will EVER be Jaco, but some people.......very few...come close. Besides having a musical vocabulary all of his own, Bireli echoes Jaco more than anyone.

Completely agree, and Birelli is way over the top amazing on guitar and bass, & I will say that I really love Hadrien Feraud's tributes to Jaco, as well as his own material. He is most excellent in his own way.

Don't surprised me at all ,I ve heard this guy years ago with guitar or bass and he is not of this earth ,a little bit underrated in my opinion

Great. It sounds like Jaco. In 1978 or 79 I played Flute in a amateur JazzBand. Of course you can not compare us with Bireli and Jaco. We had 2 performances in the then well-known Jazz club "Bazilus" in Zurich. in the days before us, Bireli and Jaco played there with a few other musicians. As I said, they were infinite times better than us. The Bazilus staff told us that Jaco and the other adult musicians were constantly drunk and didn't treat the teenage Bireli very well.

Just a Fender Jaco replica I believe..could be a real old (early 60's) jazz bass converted to a fretless but looks too new to be an authentic '60-'65..Jaco's '62 fretless now belongs to Robert Trujillo..Jaco's main '60 fretted is still at large...unfortunately
