I just never understood how/why America has such a prevalent whipped cream industry. Buying pre-made whipped cream here in Australia is like buying pre-made PB&J sandwiches? Pre-made buttered bread? I can't even think of a comparison.
Manufacturers see a possibility to make a product and sell it based on saving the customer a little time. The customer sees it in the store and thinks, this is ridiculous, but I'm going to try it once. That is how crack addiction and cool whip addiction get started.
And because Americans have been getting whipped cream from cans since the olden days when soda fountains like Woolworths dispensed their whipped cream to customers that way. It's just very familiar to Americans, but I guess not so much to Aussies.
Convenience and quantity. If you're having a family get together with a bunch of desserts, sure, make a whole batch of whipped cream and its ready for everyone. This is a clip from the "Cook's Country" TV show, which has been on the air since 2008. This clip is from Season 10, Episode 2, which originally aired on September 2, 2017. Since they're going on 12 seasons, some people must like this "complete crap" format.
I don't know what you did to make the Reddi whip not whip properly. This or the store brands are great. The only way they don't come out of the can well is by not holding the can upside down. Not half assed, but completely upside down. It is firm and NEVER has an liquid. You guys love hydrogenated oil. What does that say about your taste.
Just looked online says Costco seems to be the only place that sells it. No grocery store does it seems. Not at Cub, not at Walmart either, not at target...... So sad = Deprived of having the best store bought.
Pour heavy cream in jar with tight lid. Shake until it is whipping cream. If your arm gets tired, pass it on to the next person at the table, or standing around waiting for their dessert.
Anyone who prefers cool whip has literally never made homemade whipped cream... Also, dag, I don't care if this was before Corona but double-dipping your spoon into EVERY sample?? Gross, lady!
coo hwip is gross. Why would you get a whipped topping that had no cream in it? Monsters. You can have it. Go ahead eat it and get it far away from me. I'll take the cream and we both can be happy.
I prefer Dream Whip from a box instead. I don’t like the texture of the canned ones or the flavor of Cool Whip (although the French vanilla version is excellent). I also don’t like whipped cream from scratch.
I love you guys at ATK but if any of you chefs are keeping those products at home then I am a little disappointed. Real whipped cream is not that hard.
No, but many people are that busy. And it lasts a good long time compared to heavy cream. So unless you use it regularly, you wouldn't have heavy cream at home. and who the hell wants to go to the store at 6 or 7 in the evening just to get a thing of heavy whipping cream because they saw a recipe online they want to try real quick? Organically grown heirloom varieties of fruits and vegetables are much better tasting than the varieties they use for conventional agriculture(they focus on appearance and ship-ability, not flavor when creating them). But I bet your house is full of non organic low flavored fruits and vegetables. What's the difference exactly?
Robert Pruitt - You might lose that bet. I’m with the Captain on this, and there are *no* non-organic fruits and vegetables in my house.... *ever.* And cream will keep for quite a while, and can be used in many recipes -or just a splash in coffee- so a small carton can always be kept on hand. No need to bring garbage food-like products into the house at all.
@@altitudeiseverything3163 Pen & Teller did a piece on tasting fruit and vegetables, the organic always tasted better to most. Their problem was the things that they were tasting were cut from the same items. The variety and age of the product makes a big difference and many organically grown products will be heirloom and sold at street markets and will be fresher, but judging if it was grown organically is very difficult and sometimes impossible. Large chain grocery store organic products are totally useless and is just a promotional gimmick.

It's exactly the same format Chris Kimball's used for years.
This is a clip from the "Cook's Country" TV show, which has been on the air since 2008. This clip is from Season 10, Episode 2, which originally aired on September 2, 2017. Since they're going on 12 seasons, some people must like this "complete crap" format.
Joey Mama Chris did not have a live studio audience during his tasting segments
I don't know what you did to make the Reddi whip not whip properly. This or the store brands are great. The only way they don't come out of the can well is by not holding the can upside down. Not half assed, but completely upside down. It is firm and NEVER has an liquid. You guys love hydrogenated oil. What does that say about your taste.
Just make it yourself.
Just looked online says Costco seems to be the only place that sells it.
No grocery store does it seems.
Not at Cub, not at Walmart either, not at target...... So sad = Deprived of having the best store bought.
I rather whip it from heavy cream. You don't mention artificial ingredients
So no comment on the True Whip😜
Pour heavy cream in jar with tight lid. Shake until it is whipping cream. If your arm gets tired, pass it on to the next person at the table, or standing around waiting for their dessert.
OMG,. there is no such thing. "Best" Whipped Topping - Whipped "Topping" whatever that is made of - should not even exist!!
Jack!
The laughing gas is the best...🥴
Reuploaded?
Aw, I miss the saucy "I'll see you later" and wink they used to have at the end :P
I hated that and hope they never do that again. Lesbian sexual come-on or what? Yuck. Unprofessional.
@@Katy32344 lmao snowflake clown
Anyone who prefers cool whip has literally never made homemade whipped cream... Also, dag, I don't care if this was before Corona but double-dipping your spoon into EVERY sample?? Gross, lady!
coo hwip is gross. Why would you get a whipped topping that had no cream in it? Monsters. You can have it. Go ahead eat it and get it far away from me. I'll take the cream and we both can be happy.
What the hell?
Why the fuck is there an audience?
NO
I prefer Dream Whip from a box instead. I don’t like the texture of the canned ones or the flavor of Cool Whip (although the French vanilla version is excellent). I also don’t like whipped cream from scratch.
Save yourself some money and time, make homemade. It doesn’t take that long and tastes so much better.
Cool whip is disgusting, fake food.
But such a guilty pleasure.
And walmart went up on it from a 1$ to 1.47 $ now . ..u guys good for business at walmart
Hey, where's Dan? I'd rather see Dan. America's Dan Kitchen. Yo Dan, Dan it up.
OMG !!!! Can she just quit eating !!!!
Whichever one, there's another used container tossed into the dump.
Recycle it
Laura Reynolds - Recycling isn’t perfect. Better to buy the cream in a biodegradable carton and whip it yourself. Healthier, too!
They plainly said they whip their own whipped cream at home.
