Copyright claims. If their music isn't cleared to use it causes legality issues for their clients and ruins their reputations. Paperwork & clearance is super important for sync licensing
That said, I’ve been told both that we need to always register all of our tracks with the US Copyright Office before ever sending out, and told we don’t need to register due to the natural copyright protection and libraries/music supervisors prefer it not be. This remains one area of confusion.
