  • Title: CANYONERRING during a FLOOD. I almost LOST HER 😰
    Welcome to another travel vlog Philippines 2022. Wondering where to find the most beautiful places in the Philippines? Hidden gem in the Philippines? Best attraction in the Philippines? Most extreme things to do in the Philippines? Well, watch this before travelling to the Philippines.
    If you are planning where to go in Cebu 2022, you will most likely come across one of the top attractions in Cebu 2022, Kawansan Falls Canyoneering. On this Canyoneering tour, we partnered up with Kawasan Canyoneering on an extreme adventure. For those of you who didn't know what Canyoneering was, it is a type of mountaineering that involves travelling in canyons using a variety of techniques that may include other outdoor activities such as walking, scrambling, climbing, jumping, abseiling, and swimming.
    What's special about Canyoneering at Kawasan falls is its turquoise blue water and it was supposed to be spectacular. We arrived after consecutive days of raining in Moalboal and encountered stronger current than usual. The turquoise blue water was more like emerald green due to the dilution of rain water. Despite the circumstances, the river color was still beautiful and never have I seen such beautiful places in my travels. After a long 30 minutes trekking from the entrance, we jumped into the ice cold river with our sweaty body and my goodness it was such an amazing feeling. Not long after we started, the first jump was 3 meters tall. It was like a warm up jump to prepare for what's coming.
    Everything was going smoothly until it took a downturn: A near death experience Philippines happened: Alina almost drowned! I almost lost her here. It was such a terrifying experience for both of us as we never thought this could happen.
    Would you dare to do this?

    Alina and Justin, hi and good you had the chance of having this river rapids adventure. That place constantly change every time during storms for the river stream flow changes depending on how strong the water flows during heady rains. The last storm moved some boulders in some places and uprooted out few forest trees. So they have to change travel routes in some areas for easy walk, jumping and swimming. And you'll find a trek food stop on cliff and you'll see a sign "NO SMOKING" but that place is filled with smoke from the grilling food snacks! 😁
    See you both on your next travel adventure!

      No. That's not dangerous. The local officials know better than most of us. If you can see by other dozen people in this canyoneering tour, they didn't experience the same. The local officials and the tour operators themselves know when to stop the activity. For example, in every heavy downpour or if there's imminent danger of flooding, they would always stop the tour. The locals know the behaviour of the river.

    • @lionhearted1969
      @lionhearted1969 Год назад

      They're not stupid people. They know better than you are or most of us. They know the behaviour of the river. That's why every participant to the canyoneering activity has to sign a waiver with the tour operator, otherwise they shouldn't proceed. If you can see in the video, all other people didn't experience the same as Alina did. It's just that Alina isn't prepared for such an exhausting physically-intensive activity but she signed the waiver in agreement to the rules. That current is not dangerous to people with average physical fitness.

    Actually rainy season is not the best time for Canyoneering or visiting a waterfalls. The waterfalls pose danger during rainy season. Rain gathers from higher up creating a turbulent amounts of water. Strong currents of water or flash floods are deadly. There were a number of incidents and casualties recorded in the Philippines, but none so far in Canyoneering. I hope your tour operator and tour guides know better and are very aware and familiar with the area. But still, be very careful; don't underestimate Mother Nature because she is very unpredictable and very powerful.

    when canyoneering do it on a fair to good weather rather than a rainy one coz on a good weather the water looks cooler and the terrain, trek, and water current will be more safer
