    That turned out really nice! I have an old Japanese hollow body that needs a little repair too! I think I'm going to use the same stuff. Thanks for the video. Sounded good too!👍😎🎸🎶

    What I do to reinstall the electronics is I attach long pieces of singe-strand wire to each pot and connector then fish the wire back thru the holes then just drag the electronics back into place. From time to time a person might want to remove the pots to clean or replace :)

    just out of curiosity could you have buffed the finished with a buffing wheel to get that factory new shine or would that have taken the paint off.

    • @FabiansTinyWorkshop
      @FabiansTinyWorkshop  7 лет назад

      Buffing would have been the right thing to to but I don't have a buffing wheel and the potentiometers would have been in the way.

    At first I was like 'Why the hot glue?!' but then I saw you pealing it away while the epoxy stayed in its place. i did not know you can do that with hot glue! totally amazing, and the guitar look absolutely gorgeous as well!!

    You can push a piece of rubber surgical tubing run through the control holes and then over the the pot stem to pull the pots through the body and right up into the appropriate places. It's still a pain in the ass but way less so than trying to get them back in place using your fingers through the f holes.

      I use an unraveled wire coathanger. You can bend it to shape to make it easier.

    • @FabiansTinyWorkshop
      @FabiansTinyWorkshop  4 года назад

      Maybe there a jammed cable in the way that's pushing the pickup backwards? Maybe turn the mounting ring 180 degree? Maybe a wrong mounting ring (slanted or not)? Maybe bend mounting screws? I would suggest removing the pickup mounting ring with the pickup still installed and examen if you can find the reason.

      Um i kinda see the problem one of the springs has slipped out if i take out that pickup to fix it in back would it pull out any wires easly???

    • @FabiansTinyWorkshop
      @FabiansTinyWorkshop  4 года назад

      @@josiahrhodius579 Normally it should not be a problem as you only remove screws and no wire. Just don't pull on any wire ;-)

    Insgesamt: Gratulation - interessante Gitarren-Videos! ... hier wäre ich allerdings anders vorgegangen ... die verhunzten Pickup-Höhlen ordentlich, sauber, exakt weiter ausfräsen und dann mit einem massiven Stück Holz sauber und möglichst nahtlos auffüllen, einleimen ... dann die richtigen passenden endgültigen Pickup-Höhlen ausfräsen ... Potis und Schalter etc. würden beim Wechsel tatsächlich in den Korpus hineinfallen ... Gitarrenbauer sichern die Teile mit einer 'Schnur' die durch das Loch geht ... am einen Ende wird dann der neue Bauteil an die Schnur gebunden und dieser wird dann mittels der Schnur wieder zum bzw. in das richtige Loch gezogen ... :-) ES LEBE DIE WERKSTATT!

    Schönes Video, Fabian.
    Wegen den Rand, da könnte man doch evtl. Konturenband nehmen. Damit man sich das "Kratzen" erspart.
    Beim Lackieren, hast du ein Kompressor mit tank? Weil da könnte man eine Lackierpistole nehmen, ich habe ein Kompressor mit 50L Tank. Der hat eine Abgabe Leistung von 120L/min, normale Pistolen brauchen min. 160L/min oder mehr. Also habe ich mir eine billige HVLP-Lackierpistole gekauft, dreh den Kompressor auf 2-3bar runter und kann super Acryl-lack (den habe ich 10% mit Wasser verdünnt= Beispiel 200ml Acryl+20ml Wasser) damit spritzen oder Airbrush-Pistole (dafür bekommt man auch Klarlack.

    • @FabiansTinyWorkshop
      @FabiansTinyWorkshop  7 лет назад +1

      Vielen Dank! Ne nen Kompressor habe ich nicht. Ich benutze den Klarlack Kwasny 288917 Auto-K. Der lässt sich hervorragend sprühen, solange es keine Schrankwand ist, reicht mir das für meine Zwecke ;-) Ja ich denke Konturenband kann man auch nehmen ;-)

    You coulda just put tape across the top and turned the guitar on its side. You wouldn't have been able to do all 4 at once, but it would have been much, much neater.

    is that crack above the pickup cavity below the neck/fret something that needs to be fixed? i'm asking because my guitar arrived with one like that and im wondering if its fine to keep or risky. i really like the gitar and its discontinued so i can't really get another one for the price I paid.

    • @FabiansTinyWorkshop
      @FabiansTinyWorkshop  5 месяцев назад

      Without seeing it I'd say if the crack is only in the finish it's usually no problem. Just cosmetics. It it's in the wood it can become an issue. For example if the crack opens if you move the neck it's not a good sign
