That turned out really nice! I have an old Japanese hollow body that needs a little repair too! I think I'm going to use the same stuff. Thanks for the video. Sounded good too!👍😎🎸🎶
Oh wow ! Fabian! You did a Fab-Tastic job repairing that guitar! I will try do to the same process with hot glue on my Schecter guitar neck! Thank you so much for the idea!
What I do to reinstall the electronics is I attach long pieces of singe-strand wire to each pot and connector then fish the wire back thru the holes then just drag the electronics back into place. From time to time a person might want to remove the pots to clean or replace :)
At first I was like 'Why the hot glue?!' but then I saw you pealing it away while the epoxy stayed in its place. i did not know you can do that with hot glue! totally amazing, and the guitar look absolutely gorgeous as well!!
You can push a piece of rubber surgical tubing run through the control holes and then over the the pot stem to pull the pots through the body and right up into the appropriate places. It's still a pain in the ass but way less so than trying to get them back in place using your fingers through the f holes.
Maybe there a jammed cable in the way that's pushing the pickup backwards? Maybe turn the mounting ring 180 degree? Maybe a wrong mounting ring (slanted or not)? Maybe bend mounting screws? I would suggest removing the pickup mounting ring with the pickup still installed and examen if you can find the reason.
Insgesamt: Gratulation - interessante Gitarren-Videos!
Konturenband nehmen.
super ace vid mate! really enjoyable. and loved the choice of music (what's the German equivalent of Lucille?) i think you're on to something here - Fabian's Guitar Make Over Channel.
You coulda just put tape across the top and turned the guitar on its side. You wouldn't have been able to do all 4 at once, but it would have been much, much neater.
is that crack above the pickup cavity below the neck/fret something that needs to be fixed? i'm asking because my guitar arrived with one like that and im wondering if its fine to keep or risky. i really like the gitar and its discontinued so i can't really get another one for the price I paid.
Without seeing it I'd say if the crack is only in the finish it's usually no problem. Just cosmetics. It it's in the wood it can become an issue. For example if the crack opens if you move the neck it's not a good sign

Those Gretsch pick ups give it a really cool rockabilly sound! Awesome, thanks fro sharing! I would really like a semi hollow 335 type guitar!
I like them too. Even though they are only ceramic bar PAF copies they sound nice.
Oh wow ! Fabian! You did a Fab-Tastic job repairing that guitar! I will try do to the same process with hot glue on my Schecter guitar neck!
Thank you so much for the idea!
That turned out very nice. The black looks way cooler too!
This really helped I have 1967 hagstrom hollow body 12 string that I need to repair the body just dont want to desort the sound
Hey thank for the idea I got a guitar I'm building that I can really use this to cover up mistakes on

I am impressed you still had the original pickups. Great job.
Thank you but these were not the original pickups, just random pickups I had laying around.
Fabian's Tiny Workshop mia culpa!
Sehr schön gemacht. Und die idee mit dem schraubendreher ist klasse !
Vielen Dank!!
came out great for what you had to work with! nice job.
Thank you :)
I would probably not ever thought to use the hot glue gun to back-up the epoxy thx again for sharing this video.
just out of curiosity could you have buffed the finished with a buffing wheel to get that factory new shine or would that have taken the paint off.
Buffing would have been the right thing to to but I don't have a buffing wheel and the potentiometers would have been in the way.
Awesome! :-)
nice work Fabian that turned out beautiful thumbs up my friend.
Thank you very much!!
voude with some painters tape on the neck so I could still remove it ?
Cool repair job you did. Love the ending. You should play some more for us :)
Thank you! I'm glad you like it!

Thank you! I really appreciate that!
you are very welcome!! keep making great videos!!
Crying like a little girl seeing that nice sunburst painted black......
Very cool, Fabian... Very cool... :)
Thank you! I appreciate that a lot!

I use an unraveled wire coathanger. You can bend it to shape to make it easier.
I was fairly sure you were going to make a bigger mess of it. nicely done!
It would have been a possible outcome ;-)
Very nice one Fabian. Add some red flames to it some time, would be awesome.
Thank you! Oh, that would look cool ;-)
Excellent job man but I can not read what it sais un the lacker can when you did the finish. What kind and brand is it? And where can I get it?

Um i kinda see the problem one of the springs has slipped out if i take out that pickup to fix it in back would it pull out any wires easly???
@@josiahrhodius579 Normally it should not be a problem as you only remove screws and no wire. Just don't pull on any wire ;-)
@@FabiansTinyWorkshop ok cause its one of the springs that slipped out of the screw i was so sacred when i saw the pickup bent, thanks for your help😊

Danke! Ja, ich muss gestehen, ich wollte mir für die Marathon Gitarre nicht zu viel Arbeit machen ;-)
What kind of epoxy did you use I have cavity I need to fix also
www.breddermann-kunstharze.de/
Epoxy: Epoxidgießharz E45GB
It's a low viscosity epoxy
Sorted!!
That hurt

Haha, maybe I call her Heidi or Gretchen ;-)
Fabian's Tiny Workshop Gretchen Guitar, perfect!

I’m sure it looks horrible from closer look.
Nice...;-p
Thank you :)
Lacquer or poly? Excuse the ignorance
Lacquer
What a shame for this sun burst.. A bit crude.. You could have done it much better. Anyhow, your guitar!😲👍
