Sleeping Dogs is a fantastic video game in a really cool setting that I enjoyed visiting in a game and seeing the characters. It's a shame that we probably will never get a second Sleeping Dogs, and also that Phil acted like an absolute clown during his playthrough of it.
I'm half japanese, and i found DSP's commentary incredibly racist. how the hell does anyone stand his LPs. The racist Asian jokes do not stop, with every other scene involving faux-Chinese and mocking Chinese culture. Add to that far too many gay jokes (he made a comment about Wei Shen being a gay gigolo and keeps hammering it in again and again and again and again!). The gameplay of course is not much better - at one point he forgets how to throw enemies, checks the controller layout, and doesn't see that the Right Trigger is throw and whines that he won't be able to throw enemies for the rest of the game. Phil also believes that Chinese and Japanese people are the same, by suggesting that Hentai is from China. Phil said he is allowed to make racist jokes, because the game is not supposed to be taken seriously, because its a Chinese game based off Grand Theft Auto.
This is probably the best TIHYDP for show how terrible Phil can be with commentary. The jokes not only are racist and dirty on the whole playthrough, but lazily thought to the level of a 10 year old. Sure that LPs usually improvise the jokes they go with, but they also have standards and don't go with the asian stereotypes for a whole playthrough. Let's also not forget that Phil ends seal-laughing with most of them. And well, the fact he starts laughing out loud EVERY TIME a character says or makes an obscenity. You can get in front of Phil, say "Pee" and he will conclude that's the funniest thing he heard that day and start overjoking arround it with Pee jokes. Sure that LPs often makes dick jokes, but they usually don't extend them or force it on cutscenes and everytime a character shows butt.
I found him so arrogant against every culture except his, I’ve noticed this by all his gta LPs when he hated the sound of any song that wasn’t rock. But I can only watch the cut down versions cause I would really hate him cause of constant bitching and complaining at the game when 95% of the time it’s his 100% his fault.

It's a good thing that he never did the DLC for Sleeping Dogs. I would imagine all the rage & racist + gay jokes. I imagine a lot of people who would have watched his "Year of the Snake" DLC would have reacted like this:
"What is this? The Year of the Jerk?"
He did play Year of the Snake, and Nightmare at Northpoint, I just haven't looked into them.
